I saw some news about a Jungle distribution plant. It’s Baltimore, so I think it’s not ruble’s. I worry just the same.
Howdy Y’all! Mowage did not get achieved over to the church house because neither of the mowers would crank. So, I oiled (paraffined?) up the candles and came back to da cave where a few things have been taken care of that were in need of care takin’. Tea is made for tomorrow and nappage has been achieved, as well. Pretty N.O.S. day if’n a tad chilly.
**Sunny **- a 50’ wall in the Baltimore distribution center collapsed in a bad storm last night. Two were killed…
In happier news, we’re just back from the Japanese steak house where **FCD **wanted his birthday dinner - more like a late lunch or very very early supper, but since we didn’t have lunch, it worked. Yummy meal, and even Roxy seemed to enjoy herself, despite not being able to eat. We’s all now stuffded.
Chillage for the rest of the day. I’ll make the birthday pie tomorrow.
Anybody home?
(the last post showing is at 3:50 PM)
I have the watercolor paper, the kid bag packed and chicken veggie soup consumed. Nelson has had a dog park run and I’m ready to chill.
benihana type steakhouse ? ive always wanted to go but ours closed down ages ago …….mom went a time or two and said it was fun and filling …
No; more like adopting a Russian accent.
PMed an unbroken version.
I am not there but I know there and helped train some of their people. Our place uses JLL people as well and while I don’t want to know the names (for fear of knowing them) I will probably look into it tomorrow. And our Cleveland place caught a tornado earlier this year but everyone got out at least fairly safe.
They are big buildings and factories in every sense of the word. Bad things can happen. For the most part TPTB take safety DAMN serious but it just can’t be 100% safe. And considering most of the workers are basically amatuers and the buildings are repurposed, I’m surprised more bad things don’t happen.
Oh, hi.
Up at 6:30am for a 8:00am soccer game with the boys (we lost, last game of the season), then about 30 minutes later climbed up the hill to another field to referee two more games, then came down the hill to coach my girl’s team (we lost, but another game tomorrow). Finally got home about 5pm and will be heading off to bed shortly as I referee two games tomorrow morning (pre-church) and coach one in the afternoon (post-church).
I’m a wee bit tired.
Best thoughts to all y’all, I read but did not retain today’s postings enough to make a coherent response.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 46 Amurrkin out and clear (dark, actually) with a predicted high of 73 and a chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. The plan of the day is to deheathenate (I have ush duty), followed by first Sunday brunch. I made the corn casserole last night and need to nuke it this mornin’. Also, 'tis All Saint’s Sunday, so large processional, smells, and bells shall abound. EYP loves to go large on major feast days. I foresee nappage this afternoon. After a big brunch, sup shall be via forage should one feel the need to feed.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
Up, caffeinated and sheveled. Off to work
I’ve never been to Benihana, but if it’s where they cook in front of you with all kinds of schtick, yeah, that’s what it is. Honestly, the only problem I have is that your food comes in seemingly random order (as it finishes cooking, of course) so you get your fried rice, then some get their appetizers, some get their entrees… and in our case, all the veggies were last. It’s not a huge deal - I just like having it all at once which works in a regular restaurant, but not in the hibachi-style place.
I think I benefited from the extra hour last night. At least I feel rested, so there’s that. And I think it’ll be dry enough to do leaves this afternoon.
I’ll also be calling my mom. I called her last night, but she was out, so I talked to my sis for a while. Mom is leaving on Thurs for her month-long cruise to the Amazon. She gets back a couple days before we do. This will be the first year ever that there won’t be a family Thanksgiving for my side of the family. We won’t notice because we’ll be in Ocala, but my sibs will farm themselves out to other places.
It’s almost light out, which means it’ll be dark around 5:30 tonight. Stoopit time change.
Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday!
It’s a cold and dark 36 degrees outside. Supposed to warm up to 57 and be rainy all day. Which sucks because I have lawn waste to put out for the trash but I don’t like to put the paper bags out in the rain.
Up early, the clock said 5:18 but my body said 6:18.
My son set the clocks back already so tv, computer, phone, microwave, and oven are in agreement.
Yesterday was a sleepy day, and another grumpy day.
I’d say I’ll be happy when the election is over, but I doubt it. I have a feeling that the bitching, whining, wailing, gnashing of teeth, and renting of garments is only going to get worse. Six more years and then maybe we’ll get somebody a little less polarizaing in office.
The music lesson was hip-hop and rap. A genre I know very little about, and he knows even less. The history was somewhat interesting.
He is a month ahead in that class so it will be over soon.
I have shrimp thawing for dinner tonight.
Thank you for the link Ruble
I have lots to do today, so why am I not doing it?
Do you really think that asshole will be reelected???
Oh HELL no! Please God, a little help here?
If he chooses to run again, and he probably will, yes.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasting and will get ready to go heathenate shortly.
Happy Sunday!
Hunnerd percent chance of rain starting at noon. My ear is improving to the point where I don’t believe I will die from it. I stayed up til 11 last night cuz it was really only 10. I don’t mind the time change or the getting dark by 5. Today I will put away the Halloween decos and get out the autumn stuff. A pox on those who are putting up Christmas stuff.
I have been cussing out the hm channel everyday. They started the 24/7 christmas movies last weekend. They didn’t even wait for halloween.
I hear there is going to be a new channel that is going to play christmas movies 24/7/365.
I have been seriously considering cancelling cable when my contract is up.
I get over 1000 channels - I think - doesn’t matter, I watch about 5 of them. I only use the tv for background noise anyway.
I hate the Hallmark Channel - the only think I’ll watch there is if they play the Jesse Stone shows. Even then, I OD on the sicky-sweet teasers for sicky-sweet Harlequin-romance-style movies. ugh.
We went to breakfast, then to WalMart for a few items. I noticed they’ve got more self-checkout lanes than regular. Interesting… Guess they got tired of complaints about not enough open checkouts.
Time to make the pie!!
Thank Og for the extra hour; I needed it after yestidy’s 21½ hr day. I feel somewhat hooman again.
Part of yestidy’s event was so that the network could get B-roll footage. The weather was lousy, which means we wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. I stand next to the cameraman & ask him which was he’s going to move, both so I don’t mess him up & so that he doesn’t get into my shot. I’m not getting my arse chewed for needing another take! We then watch some guy (he was from the sponsor) walk about 15’ in front of the clear area, taking video w/ his cell phone. :smack:
Mooommm, I don’t like a certain Orange box home repair store; they only have one cashier…all the way down at the faaaaaar end. Yeah, long & heavy objects are sooo easy to put on the scanner. Half the time, what I’m purchasing either doesn’t have a price tag or is a custom order (anything cut to length) & needs to be manually entered by them anyway.
