Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 66 Amurrkin out and cloudy (OK, dark, but drizzly so I guess that means clouds) with a predicted high of <snerk> 69! <snerk> for the day and rain. No big plan of the day which is a good thing for a rainy day. Chili and corn bread for sup, as I mentioned yestiddy. Sloth on hand for the day. What? Netflix is not goin’ to binge watch itself you know!
Sunny tired of chawklit? As flytrap would say, you may want to consult with your chosen clergy person. Or get psychiatric help.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day!
I recognize all the words, but I don’t believe they belong together…
TGIF! Another stupid night. I slept 3 hours, then woke up - DING - and couldn’t drop off again, so I played the word game on my tablet, and sure enough, it made me tired again, and I dropped off about an hour later. Still, 5AM arrived too soon. Dammit.
We were supposed to have torrential rain overnight. I think we got about 6 drops. It’s supposed to rain all day today - so far, nothing. We shall see.
But my work week is almost over, so Happy Firday!!!
I’ve got a 10 item list of things to do this morning.
Nothing hard, but most annoying, as they involve some type of interaction/communication with other people.
Swampy - one thing I am learning from the class is just how much I don’t know about rock music.
Yesterday’s lesson was on Heavy Metal. No surprise that it covered MotorHead and Metallica. Also Judas Priest, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Anthrax, GnR, Van Halen. How the hell Poison and Aerosmith got in there? I would never have considered them heavy metal. I even would question GnR and Van Halen being metal.
I think if I were the one taking the class, the professor and I would be having some interesting conversations.
I got one of those famous Philly tickets (never had that license plate near there) once and an uncle got one for Pittsburgh even though he has never been west of the West Branch of the Susquehanna. This was way before internet and digital images when getting something like that fixed was a much more frustrating activity.
So do you favor sorghum or alfalfa for a ground-cover resting crop? Unless you are a county agent in Colorado and then just what strain is the most medicinal?
(You realize that if you take the lyrics from Green Acres and the music from Purple Haze they link up perfectly? Do a YouTube on Green Haze but be aware the band name is offensive.
I’m wasting time this morning. Almost nothing to do so I do a little, surf a little. Maybe while I’m on vacation, stuff will pile up so I’ll be busy when I get back. Maybe…
Morning. It’s 48F here in N. Ali-bama and not due to get much warmer than that. Pretty much took yesterday off, outside of eating I don’t think I did anything useful all day. Will shortly go out and get the trash can that I didn’t bother to go get in yesterday. Today will be slightly more active, need to pay bills and do some soccer stuff. Saturday I’ll coach two games and referee two more, so that should get things moving again.
Sari, I think you’re learning stuff because we lived through it, from Elvis to whoever is the rage right now, and seeing it as a 'History" course is…disconcerting. Wonder who did the classifying.
FCM, looking at the radar, it appears the rain went East of you, while swampy is getting his allotted requirement (I love the NWS radars: NWS Radar
Sunny, the school let you bring a dog to class for a teacher conference? Not like my old school.
I’m glad it’s Friday. I’m ready to be done with this week.
I was so excited about seeing that Starbucks is bringing out the holiday drinks today, only to find that the most delicious coffee drink to ever grace my taste buds is not coming back this year. NO HOLIDAY SPICE FLAT WHITE! That delicious concoction was a frequent guest on many Christmas present shopping trips, a warm buddy on Black Friday, and a sacred reprieve from the stress of stay-at-home mothering the last two years. That drink was my holiday happy place. I am bereft.
What a tedious day it’s been!! I have almost nothing to do, and I’ve been dragging it out with reading, posting, and surfing. I have 12 drawings on my to-do list, but all I have to do to them is change the drawing form and the date. No drafting involved. So even with the molasses-slow database and uploaded a new PDF, each one takes maybe 5 minutes. That’s maybe an hour of work to fill 3 anna half hours this afternoon.
Then may I suggest that you do some drafting.
I ‘lost’ my wallet (it ended up under the passenger seat) & that panic & search means I left something else at home that I needed, the thumbie drive of the pictures that I need to have printed.
Sigh, this is the second day of my ad in the paper and I haven’t got a single call. I don’t think I’ll ever find those printings of the cookbook. I figured I’d get at least a couple calls, maybe even just some from folks who have other printings and want to know if I’m interested. This is the city they were originally printed and published in, if not here, then where?
Well, at least I think I have compiled the most complete(completest?) set of the books, with 26 out of 28 of the printings.
That looks wonderful… but I don’t own an espresso machine. I tried making something similar last year after they were gone for the year, but my tangerine sugar got clumpy. There must have been too much moisture in the zest.
That’s it… I’m asking for an espresso machine for Christmas.
That sound like fun, really. My cat is snoozing on the couch and I’m trying not to do anything that will make him nervous. He has a vet appointment in an hour and a half and getting him into the carrier is epic drama. I usually end up getting a scratch or two.
With the dog it’s “Oh, we’re going in the car? Yay!!!”
When I have to take the cats to the vet, I have to put the crates out a week before so they learn to ignore them. Catching and crating them is a 2-person adventure.
Not that the dog is much better. Pull out her leash and harness, and she disappears. Idiot animals…
I have half of my list done.
Three require my son’s input and he went back to bed.
One can’t be done until tomorrow.
The last one, I need to drive to the post office to mail my absentee ballot.
MetalMouse, I think you are right about reading history you were there for. It feels weird, and I also have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that this is all new information for my son.
I looked Poison up online and they are considered to be rock, heavy metal, and glam metal. I have a real hard time considering stuff like Unskinny Bophttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xk5y4wvsLyY as metal. Metal should be hard, and mean, and heavy, and dark; not cute and bouncy and make you want to get up and dance.
IMNSHO, metal is what you listen to when you want to blow up the world. Poison is what you listen to when you are cleaning house.
Ruble - your link didn’t work for me. Going out to hunt it down because that sounds interesting.
Howdy Y’all! Looks like the rain is now gone, but ‘tis all cloudy, gloomy, and coolish out. I might even need to switch from shorts to long loungin’ pants. Imagine!
Blurfage I have been crazy busy for the last two days. So busy I just now read the MMP from the last few days. I didn’t sleep worth a damn last night so am going to tidy up my desk and jet out early today. Thank God it is the weekend. Tahred. I still have a ton of stuff to do but it will just have to wait until Moanday. I have had about all I can take this week.
TIs steak night and since I got paid today I shall stop at the good steak place and pick up a couple of filets. Maybe.
Happy Firday all!
Tomorrow is FCD’s b-day and he asked for a lemon meringue pie instead of a birthday cake. I’m going to stop on the way home and get a few lemons - bottled juice is OK, but real lemons is better!
Meanwhile I’m now out of work with 20 minutes left to go. Brent said he’ll have something for me - with luck, it’ll be waiting on Moanday morning. We shall see. And I may just sneak out early, just because.
