What about states with a Democratic Governor but a Republican Secretary of State? Or vice versa? Is mail-in voting good or bad then?
Bad, apparently.
No no no! Can’t allow this to happen! Absentee ballots are okay but only when sent to inactive (i.e., dead) voters!
I’m not amazed at all. That’s how that shit-stain was as governor and that’s how he is as VP and if he is ever PotUS that’s how he will continue to be. He believes that the government should follow a “higher law” - that of his god (which may or may not be anyone else’s god) which is basically the fantasy of what all to many thought the 1950’s used to be. With an extra dash of “white man in charge of everything” on top.
No, he means his sort of Christians. Protestant, dominionist, etc.
^ This.
Only because it’s convenient. Pence doesn’t love Trump as anything other than a means to an end.
Nevada’s Secretary of State is Republican, but it’s bad there.
Pence is Catholic, although of a particularly evangelical strain.
The Very Stable Genius has now demonstrated that he is also Master of Similes:
“It will go away, like things go away.”
—Donald J. Trump, August 5, 2020
Ahhh. Truly edifying. I wasn’t so sure what he was getting at after those first four words, but once he illustrated the concept it was a real lightbulb moment.
He actually said this twice yesterday. Later in the day he “elaborated” a bit:
“It’ll go away like things go away. Absolutely. It’s, uh, no question in my mind, it’ll go away. Frankly, sooner rather than later.”
Back to the “what I’d like to do if I were interviewing Trump” fantasy, I’d like to hand him a section of the Declaration of Independence Or Bill of Rights, or some such, and trick him into trying to read it out loud, while the print was displayed on a split screen for readers to follow along during his effort. Or anything from a HS textbook, really.
Brilliant editing there. Wonderful!
Alas, I don’t think I could possibly top today’s outburst; about Biden;
I’m shocked he didn’t say it will go away in two weeks. That is apparently at timeline outside of his ability to comprehend. “Two weeks” for Trump is basically “never”
876,000 hours is a few months shy of 100 years.
Okay. Have a heart. If you’re gonna post a video, could you at least give a CLUE what it’s about and what the relevance is to the thread? That would be humane. Thanks.
As the header suggests, it’s a compilation of all the “two weeks” scenes from The Money Pit, which was filmed around NYC & Long Island.
As for the relevancy, it’s at the end of the clip:
Walter: Well, two weeks. It- it’s amazing.
Curly: Amazing nothing. It’ll be a regular miracle.
Trump lays out the existential danger posed by Joe Biden:
…Hurt the Bible, hurt God. He’s against God, he’s against guns, he’s against energy…
Well, if he’s powerful enough to hurt God, I for one am not going to vote against him…
Even worse here in the SoW, since we’ve been doing it for ten years and the current Secretary of State* — one of the few Republicans in state government — has done nothing to stop it. She spent twenty years as a county elections official before taking office, so she’s intimately familiar with the mechanics and pitfalls of administering an election; but to the Trumpistas, that’s no excuse.
