It’s logical. For the first time in 175 years, the enterprise of “Scientific” enquiry is under direct threat.
And the same may be said of “American”.

Gov. Newsome of California, being painfully aware that mere words cannot hold Trump’s attention, prepared an appropriate briefing book on the fires:
I hope in fine print on the front page it said “Prepared by Deez Nuts.”
From Trump’s town hall tonight on ABC, answering a question on the pandemic.
He kept trying for “immunity” but just couldn’t get there. And, no, I’d rather not get herd mentality. I’ll leave that to your fans dumbass.
Another dilly-whopper out of the Oranganus: At the town hall, he blames Biden and the Democrats for not implementing a national mask mandate.
Oranganus: They said at the Democrat convention they’re going to do a national mandate. They never did it, because they’ve checked out and they didn’t do it. And a good question is, you ask why Joe Biden ― they said we’re going to do a national mandate on masks.
This dumb fuck thinks he’s running as the challenger!

Can you find a direct link?
works for me.
try this
Thanks.
Geez, the Governor should have put the presentation in one of those heavy cardboard flipbooks with one or two words per page. The kind for toddlers with tiny hands.
BI used the wrong phrase. “Necessarily simplistic” is far more accurate.
I just read the whole transcript while letting the morning coffee take effect. Wow, that was some straight-up Captain Queeq shit. I’m sure listening to trump, he came off as more belligerent, but reading the transcript he comes across as very whiny.
His answers were a combination of struggling to remember and regurgitate his same basic talking points, the same lies about his fantastic accomplishments or ‘Democrat’ failures, answering a different question than had been asked, or complete nonsense.
At one point he’s asked about preexisting conditions. He spews his same old nonsense for awhile about how terrible Obamacare is, and how the Repubs are going to have a much better health plan. Stephanapoulos calls him out on this, saying, June of last year you said you’d have one in 2 weeks. This past summer you told Chris Wallace 3 weeks. You said you’d have an executive order protecting preexisting… trump says, I have it right now, it’s ready to go! Total “the check is in the mail” BS.

Well I for one compliment Trump Johnson on his authentic political gibberish.
Now, I’m not going to make people feel like I want to – look, we’re a leader of a great country. We want to keep it that way. I don’t want to scare people. I don’t want to make people panic. And you’re not going to go out and say, oh, this is going to be – this is death, death, death.
You have to run a country, we’re in a country. We got hit by something very unfairly.
TRUMP: Now there is by the way, a lot of people don’t want to wear masks. There are a lot of people think that masks are not good. And there are a lot of people that as an example you have…
STEPHANOPOULOS: Who are those people?
TRUMP: I’ll tell you who those people are – waiters. They come over and they serve you, and they have a mask. And I saw it the other day where they were serving me, and they’re playing with the mask…I’m not blaming them…I’m just saying what happens. They’re playing with the mask, so the mask is over, and they’re touching it, and then they’re touching the plate. That can’t be good.
When Churchill was on the top of a building, and he said everything’s going to be good, everything’s going to be – be calm. And you have the Nazis dropping bombs all over London, he was very brave because he was at the top of a building. It was very well known that he was standing on buildings, and they were bombing. And he says everyone’s going to be safe.
I don’t think that’s being necessarily honest, and yet I think it’s being a great leader. But he said, you’re going to be safe. Be calm, don’t panic. And you had bombers dropping bombs all over London.
So I guess you could say that’s not so honest, but it’s still a great leader.
George, stocks are owned by everybody.
Note also the woman who talks about her mother dying of cancer and Trump repeatedly ignoring this and saying it was COVID.
So I guess you could say that’s not so honest, but it’s still a great leader.
I take this to mean it’s not only okay to lie if it makes people feel better, it’s the very definition of a good leader.
When Churchill was on the top of a building, and he said everything’s going to be good, everything’s going to be – be calm.
trump does have a point-- Churchill was a very inspiring leader. Who can forget some of Churchill’s most famous quotes from his calming, reassuring speeches?
“The Nazis are going to disappear. One day - like a miracle - they will disappear.”
“You have very fine people on both sides.”
“You’ll develop herd – like a herd mentality for the occupying Nazis.”
When Churchill was asked who would be ok with occupying Nazis-- “I’ll tell you who those people are – waiters.”

Many people are saying Nazis tip well.
This dumb fuck thinks he’s running as the challenger!
He wishes he was the challenger – that’s how he won last time.
“Things are totally fucked up and I’m the only one who can fix it!”
“Uh, Mr. President, things got totally fucked up under your administration.”
“Did not! It all happened when Sleepy Joe was President!”
Setting aside the ridiculous ‘herd mentality’ gaffe, suggesting that herd immunity is a good strategy is insane. Some math:
https://twitter.com/Kyle_Feldscher/status/1306058315982544896
Also, there’s no guarantee that a lasting herd immunity is even possible with Covid.
Is that death rate right?
Mind you, even if it were 0.5%, that’s still nearly a million Americans dead.
It’s accurate based on confirmed stats (~6M+ cases and ~200k deaths).
The suspicion, however, is that our lack of adequate testing (which is a problem in itself) means we’ve undercounted the number of cases, which would tend to push the true percentage lower. Then again, we’ve likely undercounted deaths as well, which would tend to push the true percentage higher.
I suspect the actual number is probably a bit lower.
For the denialists, the math is bad. If we are inadequately testing, there are a lot more cases than we thought and we aren’t controlling the spread well. If we are adequately testing, then the disease is much deadlier than they claim.

I can see it now: iDJiT does show up up at Case Western in 13 days and pretends he’s not the incumbent.
For the denialists, the math is bad.
Deniers seem to divide the number of deaths by the number of infections, and proclaim a minuscule death rate. To get the death rate, they need to divide the number of resolved cases by the number of deaths. ‘Resolved’ means people who no longer have COVID-19 – either by recovering, or by dying.
Also denialists are saying that the actual deaths by Covid are a tiny fraction of the reported 195K, because deaths are counted as a Covid death when they test positive for Covid, no matter what actually killed them. A relative in my extended family said hospitals are intentionally over-reporting Covid deaths so they can get those sweet sweet government emergency funds, or something
