The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux (Part 1)

By this argument, nobody ever died of AIDS.

Correction: They need to divide the number of deaths by the number of resolved cases.

Yeah, relying on herd immunity to solve the Covid problem, would be like dealing with an active shooter by saying “If we all stand up and hold still, eventually he’s going to run out of bullets.”

Hey, don’t give the trump admin. any ideas for how to deal with actual right-wing mass shooters

Lordy Lord. For everything trump says, there’s a contradictory thing he said before:

The thing Trump said before that should never be forgotten and repeated now until the election:

Trump on coronavirus: If US has 100,000 to 200,000 deaths, we’ve done a ‘good job’

Nope, you are a homicidal failure.

Not to mention: if herd immunity was the be-all-end-all in public health, no one would ever get the cold or flu again.

Just out of curiosity, I went on foxnews.com to see how they would possibly spin the trump town hall debacle.

Nothing. Not a mention. Not even a video clip of Laura Ingraham calling it an “ambush” in the “Exclusive Clips” section.

They’re afraid to praise him now that he’s threatening to take over Fox and Friends for an hour every week.

Trump packs four lies into a single sentence

I just wanted to point out the fifth lie that seems to have been overlooked: “just asking”. JAQ-off.

That’s a new sentence.

I think Trump may have gotten Winston Churchill mixed up with King Kong.

And we shall make Britain Great Again, and we shall give every victim of the blitz plenty of paper towels, and we shall hope we passed the audition.

It’s one thing to say “everybody remain calm, we’ll be fine” because behind the scenes your guys are working like mad to make sure everything really is fine.

It’s quite another to say “everything’s fine” and then do nothing, because you’re pretending your bullshit is really true.

Er… WHAT government emergency funds? Is that like the government PPE that doesn’t exist, either?

It’s not that I like this analogy, because it’s horrific, but it does seem congruent.

And of course, it’s yet another thing to say “not only is everything fine, but anything you hear different is just a hoax cooked up by the other guys to make me look bad."

I’m not sure, I was told that anecdote second-hand. But the upshot was that he claimed hospitals were inflating numbers of Covid deaths in order to reap a financial benefit of some sort.

The “government emergency funds” thing sounds like a variation of this claim that was very popular at the beginning of the shutdown…long story short, it involves Fox News and a misunderstanding about Medicare funds.

That sounds like what my brother-in-law was claiming.

You do not say “everything’s fine”. That would be a lie. You say "We have " (or “are getting”) “the situation under control.” If everything is not fine, it is grossly irresponsible to say that it is to those who might be affected.
