The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux (Part 1)

Just a thought. Why is Stephen Miller not infected? I don’t even hear about him being tested. There aren’t many people I want to get sick but he is at the top of the list.

Since his wife already had it, I wonder if he had it asymptomatically.

Covid only infects humans.

Not true. It also infects cats and presumably pangolins and bats.

Warm-blooded animals, then.

Professional courtesy from the virus.

That still doesn’t explain Stephen Miller. Rick_Kitchen’s hypothesis must be closer to the truth.

Huh? Colibri is saying that Stephen Miller hasn’t gotten infected yet because covid only infects warm-blooded animals, not cold-blooded creatures like Miller. Or am I confused??

Okay, I see I might have 180° mis-interpreted Colibri’s remark.

Right. Miller clearly seems reptilian in nature.

Yes. Stephen Miller, who denies his grandmother died with COVID-19 “as a condition leading to respiratory arrest”, the cause of death noted on her death certificate, because she caught it in March and held on until July. Presumably she was on the other, warm-blooded, side of the family.

This might explain why Rudy hasn’t gotten it.

According to the timestamp, it took Fox News a full 10 hours to report the same news – presumably they were looking for other polls or trying to find a way to spin it. They probably decided that in the absence of other alternatives or just flat-out lying, reporting the poll would be a good way to motivate the wingnuts to vote:

I think it’s admirable that the Biden campaign has suspended its negative ads for the time being, but I wonder if it’s a good strategic decision. You know the trump admin would not extend the same courtesy if the situation was reversed.

In my state of Michigan I used to see anti-trump ads saying under a trump plan Social Security would run out in 2 years, and preexisting conditions will no longer be protected, running alongside pro-trump ads saying your benevolent leader trump will ALWAYS protect Social Security and Medicare. Now those pro-trump ads falsely claiming that SS & M are super-safe under the trump admin are running unopposed. I don’t know how much it could possibly help trump at this point, but it might help him claw back some senior support in close states like Florida.

Why do they need to, when the Lincoln Project is still doing the work of the angels?

Exactly. And not just the Lincoln Project. The regular news (outside of Fox News, though even they can’t always ignore the negative) is doing a pretty good job of the day-to-day facts of Trump’s illness and the leadup to his illness, which is far more devastating than negative ads could be. As long as the regular news is so awful for Trump, negative ads would be redundant or even counterproductive. If he gets back healthy, then they can start up again.

I love what the Lincoln Project is doing, but I haven’t seen too many of their ads on TV in my state. Maybe they’re concentrating their budget on states where trump is more competitive.

My point is, I still watch a fair amount of broadcast commercial TV, and I used to see “trump will get rid of Social Security, ACA and preexisting condition protections” ads and “trump will ALWAYS protect Social Security and preexisting conditions” ads running practically back-to-back. Now I’m only seeing the latter.

The Trump situation gives Biden ample cover for cutting down on travel and personal appearances and taking a much more careful approach to protecting his own health. That’s certainly something I think he should do. Biden getting sick seems like the only thing that could really derail this now.

Kayleigh McEnany has tested positive for covid-19.

All together now – “How would they be able to tell?”
