Also for what it’s worth -
New Zealand’s conspiracy theorist xenophobe jerk (Winston Peters) is now out of parliament after last month’s election here.
And as an aside - we had two referenda on the ballot -
“End of Life” (Euthenasia) passed
Legalisation of recreational cannabis failed (we already have medical marijuana)
Is there any prospect at all that he could face a charge of inciting violence?
Having lived in Singapore - I know how laws about “inciting violence” or slander etc etc can be used as a cudgel by the government to protect their position and supress alternative ideas.
At the same time though does there not have to come a point where the people that have a platform as part of their position have to behave responsibly?
Sorry - have not yet got the hang of quoting - this is in relation to DJT Jnr inciting violence
The legendary actor, 007 Sean Connery, has past on to even greener fairways. He was quite a guy, and a tough character. I was having a very hard time getting approvals for a big development in Scotland when Sean stepped in and shouted,“Let him build the damn thing”. That
… was all I needed, everything went swimmingly from there. He was so highly regarded & respected in Scotland and beyond that years of future turmoil was avoided. Sean was a great actor and an even greater man. Sincere condolences to his family!
Well. The hack epidemiologist adviser to Trump on the pandemic (actually a neuro radiologist that does not work in that field now) Dr. Atlas, pretends not be ever aware that the RT network was listed as a foreign agent.
Really, no one in Trump’s administration advised the advisor on how stupid that was going to be?
And that was just the first fuckup, the other was to insist in that misleading source that lock downs are deadlier than reaching in practice for herd immunity as the solution for the pandemic.
It does not matter to the hack that experts have said the early shutdowns in the country saved tens of thousands of lives and that they are maybe needed again in some states as the numbers of cases are spiking.
When I first saw this story on CNN earlier, I thought FOX would make it the latest, greatest scandal. But it’s way down on their page. Trump, of course, has not released his list. The article says Biden did not have to do this, why did he? It’s a minor little thing, probably won’t change anyone’s mind.
I’ll take “never” for $200, Alex, indicated by the fact that there are still ways* poll aggregators are finding how Trump can get his 270 EC votes. If this were a just world they would be saying something like, “In every state in the union those likely to vote for Trump are so few as to be invisible. Biden is ahead by twice the margin of error in the closest state.”
