I rather expect (and hope) that Biden and Harris will have a virtual Inauguration and no balls or parties. They’re smart enough to know the usual pomp and circumstance would be a very bad idea in a time of pandemic and they seem determined to lead by example.

I think I was listening to Cuomo’s radio show after midnight CST tonight, which, together with other pieces which I can’t cite, form a picture for me that I very much don’t like, and that I can’t judge the accuracy thereof. I’m on the Special Ledge Tenterhooks; I’m on this board and trusted media sources pretty much all day, feeling like I can’t look away.
Cuomo mentioned in passing that internal sources around Trump reveal that he thinks he’s holding all the cards, and has said as much to multiple people. His lawsuits are getting tossed left and right, but he’s got something like 86% of Republican voters actually believing he won, and is fighting to keep the election from being stolen. Republicans are not speaking up, especially McConnell, because of the Georgia senate races upcoming. If they make Trump mad, he could pitch a TwitFit and jeopardize their control of the Senate, thus their silence/compliance. Also, am I right in thinking that faithless electors are a non-zero possibility?

I don’t believe the 86% is anywhere close to reality. I think it’s just a hardcore minority of phenomenally ignorant loud Trumpists that believe it.
