When y’all done listening to that, check this out –
“The Day Democracy Died” parody on Bye Bye Miss American Pie (aka The Day The Music Died).
That sounds more like something Billy Dee Williams would be selling.
Apparently Trump has raised $495 million since the middle of October for his PAC. I guess he can stop worrying about that $400 million in debt. He has more than enough to pay it off and apparently with contributions to a PAC, he can spend the money on whatever he wants.I wonder if all of the people sending in money to “defend the integrity of the election” realize that he spent $3 million on the Wisconsin recount, probably another $10-20 million on lawyers, and the rest is all sweet sweet profit.
I have no idea what this means but I’m laughing anyway.
Door mat.
A true Merkin?
If it means what I think it means, ew.
I was thinking exactly this, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s in the news again. He’s delusional and dumb enough to believe he’s above the law.
What’s scary is how someone like that can rise into the higher echelons of our military. Makes me wonder how many other Mike Flynns are out there in the Pentagon or elsewhere in the massive bureaucracy of the federal government, essentially acting as sleeper cells for Al Trumpda.
Corinthian leather.
Do they have to be current, or would Biden be able to just re-appoint all the people back from the Obama administration?
I am dazzled!
Hillary as Attorney General.
Individual 1 nominee retweeted Michael Flynn’s calls for martial law and overturning the Constitution. He claims that Individual 1 won the election (which is probably why he was nominated). He called James Mattis a traitor, and called Obama a “sworn socialist”.
I think they have to be current and re-confirmed by the new Senate, however it is constituted.
However, I do think Biden is canny to nominate many who were previously confirmed in the Obama Administration. It will be hard for Senate Republicans to explain why they were willing to confirm the exact same people before, but not now. So there is a pressure campaign by Biden on the Senate to not pick fights over these appointments.
I hope it works.
I totally agree that this is smart. But then he opens himself up to the criticism from Dems that his admin will be Obama: The Sequel.
It’s infuriating that these schemes and workarounds even need to be part of the process due to the Pubs (I’m lookin’ at you, Mitch) being assholes.
Some of us would be quite relieved to see Obama: The Sequel. I know it displeases many progressives, and I get that because I’m one of them. But I also know how much Obama managed to accomplish, even with a congress that was almost entirely arrayed against him. It was very impressive.
We’ve lost a hell of a lot of ground in the progressive agenda under Trump. It is going to take decades to regain. Obama: The Sequel is the best hope we have of getting off to the best possible start. The amassed experience of Biden’s team is a comfort.
(I loathe McConnell, too. How I hope he loses his Senate Majority Leader designation.)
Those are not bad things. “Obama: The Sequel” is fine; the good is not the enemy of the perfect. And criticism from the left will strengthen Biden’s negotiating position–he can be the reasonable person in the room.
I wouldn’t put much stock in that.
These are the same people who said that the Senate shouldn’t confirm a Supreme Court nominee in an election year.
Yeah, I know. I’m often characterized – with good reason – as overly optimistic. It’s still not a good look for Republicans, though. If they care anymore. Which I doubt they do.
I completely agree. In the last four years Republicans have lost all claim to any shred of respect or decency they may once have had. If they refuse to confirm the same people they had previously confirmed, reasonable people will see them as the hypocrites that they are, but Republican supporters and Trumpists will see them as making Biden’s “illegitimate” presidency as difficult as possible, and will cheer them on. There is no longer even a pretext of reason or rationality.
