The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux (Part 1)

Someone should convince Trump that if he legally changes his name to “Joseph Robinette Biden Jr.” before the joint session of congress reads the electoral votes, he can claim that the Biden votes are actually all for him.

Barr is out!

Good news, everyone!

You read it here first! Well, I did anyway!
I get all my news from SDMB first these days.

Where’s my tiny violin?

Does it make me a bad person if I wish the school demands Donald Trump’s long form birth certificate? And then tells him “Unacceptable. It’s definitely 'shopped.”

I’m not laying any sins at Barron’s feet. I’m laying the sins at the feet of the person responsible for the bill: Daddy.

Ha! Like that’s gonna happen.

Yes, there absolutely is every reason. Not because he is trump, but because he is known to be a deadbeat who does not pay his bills. Hell, I couldn’t rent my house without getting a credit check. If I were the finance officer of that school I’d go through the financial history of every applicant’s family with a flea comb.

I have to wonder what constitutes “a very nice meeting” between Trump and his soon-to-be-ex-consigliere…he only threw his desk blotter at him instead of his chair?

“To spend more time with his family” is often corporate-speak for “we let him resign before we actually fired him”.

As soon as Barr stopped repeating the party line and spoke the truth we all knew his days were numbered.

No source of joy here. It’s just Barr trying to defuse the copious talk of pressing his bar association to disbar him, or at least sanction him.

This way, Barr figures, all those on the left will shrug and say ‘at least he had the sense to leave’ instead of ‘this guy should NOT be able to practice law.’ And those on the right will go on doing what they’ve been doing for the past few weeks: blaming him for the Glorious Leader’s loss.

So: net gain.

I heard that Trump kissed him and called him Fredo for some reason.

I worry about what the replacement for Barr will do in the next couple of weeks.

Don’t worry too much.

As respected former US Attorney Harry Litman explained, Barr’s replacement, Jeff Rosen, is a long-time Washington insider attorney. It’s a fair bet he’d like to practice again in 3 weeks after Barr leaves and Trump is ousted on January 20th. It’s highly doubtful he’s going to be making any dramatic big moves on Trump’s behalf.

Of course, Trump probably doesn’t realize this yet. Thank fuck.

In fact, Barr has been rather impressively outmaneuvered by several US Attorneys in his quests to run roughshod over the rule of law. First, Geoffrey Berman set up a situation at SDNY wherein he was allowed to name his own successor when Barr asked for Berman’s resignation; then John Durham and Nora Dannehy created circumstances where Barr couldn’t demand that the “Hunter Biden report” be released before the election.

Barr isn’t dumb, but he’s not that smart, either.

He’ll probably be on Pardon Detail between now and the 23rd of December. I’ll be glad to see the back of him. I hope he is prosecuted for his gross transgressions to the full extent of the law. He has never been a believer in the rule of law.

Presumably Trump wants to promote that guy Marshal Law that his supporters keep talking about.

I don’t know, if Trump is angry enough at him to fire his ass, I doubt that he’s going to be very free with any pardons on his behalf.

A Chinese guy? Fat chance of that.

‘Ahem, that’s Dr. Henry Kissinger.’

Crede Bailey, who heads the White House security office, lost part of his lower right leg, including his foot, and a toe of his left foot during a months-long battle with COVID-19.

He thinks he’s going out with a bang, but it’s really a sad, cruel whimper…

The execution of multiple prisoners by the Trump administration in its final days has the potential to be a definitive mark for a president who often tried to paint himself as a champion of criminal justice reform.

Moving forward with the executions of five inmates in President Trump’s lame-duck period is a reminder that his dominant legacy in criminal justice will be his frequent advocacy for the harshest sentences possible.

Musing…

Maybe one day we can change the name of the thread to

The Trump Administration Clusterfuck is dead! Long live the Trump Post-Clusterfuck

I mean, it’s not like he’s going away.
