To what end?
When I was in parochial grade school back in the Dark Ages, we were expected to stay quiet from noon to three (supposedly the time the Christ hung on the cross) and meditate on His sacrifice. At least one year we were herded into the church, probably to encourage the proper frame of mind.
So there’s that for @ThelmaLou.
To expose massive hypocrisy so we can point and laugh, and there is a basis to say “you’ve worked on Holy Days before, we’re not making an exception for you this time.”

I remember those days well. Even now that I’ve been Jewish for almost 25 years, I’m very conscious of those three hours on Good Friday.

To expose massive hypocrisy-
This really isn’t massive hypocrisy. It’s pretty minor.
Orthodox holds many of the same sabbath laws, no work from sundown sat. to sundown sun… no outside work unless it is prep. from sundown great and Holy Thursday, to sundown pascha. Many will extend that to Monday.

This really isn’t massive hypocrisy. It’s pretty minor.
And in any event, massive or minor, Trumplicans eat hypocricy for breakfast. See: Lindsey Graham on appointing SCOTUS justices during an election year.
Apparently WaPo has done a thorough accounting of the situation and come up with a figure. The effects of ShitGibbon’s persistent lies and bullshit about ELECTION FRAUD! have been handled with increased security, property damage repair and legal defense that has cost the taxpayers over half a billion simoleons. The lion’s share of that ($480M) was the NG deployment in the last couple weeks.
So, uh, whatever happened to all the state cases that were gonna be piled on top of Trump’s head at 12:01pm on January 20th? They’re letting the impeachment thing run its course out of courtesy? Reminds me of how Bruce Lee fought 30 guys who came at him one at a time. Somebody grow a pair and serve him awreddy!

Good question.
Well… New York State probably needs to work out extradition with Florida…
I don’t know that I would compare Trump to Bruce Lee.
And in real life, fighting 30 guys, one on one, in a row, is pretty exhausting.
I believe that I’ve read this week that the Stormy Daniels - Individual 1 case has been dropped. There’s still a lot of other stuff (bank fraud, insurance fraud) ongoing, though, that we haven’t heard from.
But Trump just committed a new crime to throw on the pile: Georgia has opened a criminal investigation into the Raffensberger “find the votes” call.

“Typical Trump, the only time he’ll stop speaking is when he’s under oath.”
There’s one other way I can think of.

I think criminal charges before the impeachment trial concludes would give Republicans cover to say “let the courts handle this.” (I know, they’re saying it anyway)
I think they should wait until the dust settles on the impeachment trial. Otherwise it gives the impression of a vendetta. Of course, they should prosecute but also need to pace themselves. I think you want a constant drumbeat of legal cases being filed rather than dropping them all at once.
(laughs) Okay, yeah, it was 4 in the morning and whadafugg was I doin’ up at that hour. That’s why my brain didn’t realize I was comparing complete polar opposite physical types. All the replies since have made sense, so–caffeine ahoy!
The state of Georgia and the DA of Fulton County, GA are both investigating his call to the Georgia Secretary of State.
Excellent. That should have been the second impeachment. Another ‘perfect’ phone call that is on record, and should have racked up the second impeachment, while the sedition/insurrection would be number three, not two.
We could probably have a perpetual impeachment for Trump for all two of Biden’s terms, as well as both of Harris’s.
If we actually held him accountable for all the crimes he did in office, we could never get anything done at all.

Actually, what the House should have done is submit these two incidents as two separate articles for the second impeachment, rather than just offering a single article. I can’t believe how inept they were in their filing.
