The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux (Part 1)

Same with the rigidity that needed, too.

Well, I had 2 semesters of Psych Testing in graduate school, and I don’t think that’s correct. I don’t recall ever being instructed that the subject could write the words down for later reference. It’s a test of memory, not executive functioning.

But… but… Trump’s GMOAT has been well-documented by Cody Johnston.

Right!? These days when I hear someone died my only thought is “Lucky Bastard!”

Seth Meyers took a look at how Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic and his response to the protestors in Portland differ. The video is 14 minutes but IMO well-worth the time spent.

The thing that kills me is that Trump is proud over the equivalent of getting over 90% of his piss in the toilet. As a grown adult with an assumedly functioning brain, it isn’t ‘difficult’ at all.

Nobody remembers 5 things in order after 10 minutes? Does he not understand that people remember things like phone numbers all the fucking time?

Stephen Miller’s grandmother’s death certificate says she died of “respiratory arrest” and COVID-19 as “a condition leading” to the cause of death. Miller denies that she died of Covid. His uncle says otherwise.

To be fair, my short-term memory for details isn’t great; there’s a very good chance I would not be able to remember the words.

I would of course say so frankly as soon as the idea of remembering them later came up (do they give you warning?), along with a lot of groaning and complaining. If they didn’t suggest that I could write them down, I would frankly tell them that I wouldn’t be remembering them later, and I’d be right.

Pretty much sums him up.

I don’t think he passed the test at all, I think they’re lying. I mean, I KNOW they’re lying about the word recall, check out the theory I posted upthread but I think they’re lying about the rest of the test.

I don’t believe for a second that Trump could identify a sketch of a rhinoceros, unless the Traitor Tot Donnie Jr. killed one recently. He just doesn’t have even a tiny pinch of intellectual curiosity, the thing that might make you think “what’s that? Oh, a rhino” if you saw one in a picture or in a movie.

But can you imagine a scenario where his doctor (who I’m sure has been vetted for loyalty) would announce that he got anything other than a perfect score? Of course not. His claim to have passed is as meaningless as his claim that he won a golf game. He cheats on everything else, why would this be different?

Have we actually heard from whoever allegedly administered the test? Unless CFSG gave permission, I believe it would be a HIPAA violation to disclose the results. So, the default has to be that Trump is lying about the results (or that the tester lied to him about them, which is possible).

I’ll grant him knowing what a rhinoceros is. They appear in children’s cartoons that he probably saw as a youth. And ‘rhinoceros’ isn’t a complicated concept to remember - “thing-with-horn-on-nose.”

Donnie-boy’s mind has probably regressed to an elementary schooler’s by now, but even kindergartners can identify a rhino.

There’s another part of his little story that smells stupid. Trump said that he went to Dr. Ronny and asked if there were some sort of acuity test he could take. Horseshit. First of all, just horseshit - there’s no way he went out of his way to request he be given a test of his mental acuity. Would not fucking happen. He was asked to take it for cause. Secondly, if he did ask for a mental test of some sort, why would his doctor come up with this one? Why not an IQ test? Or some other psychological exam of some sort?

The only two things that would make the above untrue is if both President Trump and Dr. Ronny are two of the stupidest people who have ever … uh … held … …

Nevermind.

And there goes yet another perfectly good theory.

Seth would have brought the house down if, at 10:19 when he began to recite “Person, Woman, Man” he would have looked at the camera and said “Camera”, looked away and then said “TV”. Because that’s what Trump did the third time he recited it at 5:30ish.

Also Trump seems to have trouble with Temporal Awareness at that same time (5:30).

Ps,

I love being able to pause the video, type a bit, hit the down arrow at the right top of the preview window, watch more of the video, hit the up arrow and write more. No more worrying about timing out during editing because I can read the preview which gives me a chance to proofread before hitting Reply and then, if after it posts, I should catch any of my typos.

First of all, there are no extra points for getting them in order. Frankly. I was thinking that I would never be able to remember them unless I concentrated, given that I have to write down the patient’s blood pressure immediately or I can forget it by the end of the exam. Then I remembered that the five words on the MOCA I use (the one with lion-rhino-camel, not snake-elephant-alligator) are red, velvet, church, daisy, face so maybe my memory is not so bad after all. Incidentally, i find the very first question the hardest or at least the one most people have trouble with so they don’t start easy and get harder.

According to Wikipedia, it tests both. So we should be really scared.

Well, yeah, that’s correct, because you need functioning short- and long- term memory in order to function well. It’s an essential component. I should have been more clear.

"A baloo is a bear. " “Wuzzle means to mix.” “A lepton is a Greek coin.” “A younker is a young man.” Are these Iowa Tests flashbacks I’m getting? Or California tests? Thirty-five years-ish ago, do I get bonus points for still remembering?

raises hand

ADD here. Things like that, unless I know it’s something I need to remember? will not stick. I will have to keep repeating it to myself to get it to stick, which means less attention to pay to other things. This has been the case since I was a child.

Not everyone’s memory works the same way.

[NB: This doesn’t mean I don’t think Trump is going senile, because I think he is. I’m just saying that not being able to remember 5 words after 10 minutes is a definitive sign when taken in isolation.]
