The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

But right now, with unemployment near historic lows, with a stock market that has gained several thousand points from where it was in late 2016, with tax cuts, with a supreme court justice of their liking in hand, with illegal immigration down, and with possible peace in North Korea…why would his supporters believe that he’s a failure? He’s a disaster in the making for sure, but until it happens, talking about his failure is just a fun game of predictit. He has to fail spectacularly first before people will accept - begrudgingly - that they fucked up at the ballot box.

I seriously doubt that even a spectacular failure — even assuming they recognize it as such and not a gambit in CFSG’s ongoing game of 4-D chess — would be laid at his feet. Not as long as they have[ul]
[li]Obama[/li][li]Clinton (Hillary)[/li][li]Clinton (Bill)[/li][li]Clinton (Chelsea — hey, why not?)[/li][li]Democrat Obstructionism[/li][li]The “Deep State”[/li][li]Some of the above[/li][li]All of the above[/li][/ul]to blame.

I disagree, It was important that his suckers feel that they were getting their wall for free, that’s why he never missed an opportunity to mention the “fact”, or to promise 10 foot upgrades to it.

It was even more meta. It was about making fearful people on shaky economic footing feel they were going to have a protector, finally, against all those different-type people they think they see coming in. The wall itself didn’t matter, it was about Taking Our Country Back.

And they fail to understand that every one of us is an immigrant.

‘Making America Great Again’ is nothing but a dog whistle to gather racists together.

If they want to make America great, don’t vote for a President that makes the Country a laughing stock of the entire world. That would be a good place to start. Idiots.

I have no problem calling them what they are. They wave their white supremacy like a flag. They complain about their lack of opportunity but won’t take jobs that are ‘beneath’ them. (those other people can do it). But keep those ‘other’ people out of the country. Make up your minds.

I’m a white guy. 57 years old. I’m doing well. I know there are plenty of people like me that aren’t doing as well. Some of it is just plain being in the right place at the right time but most of it is perseverance. Work can and often sucks. That’s why you get paid for it. Surprise!

I don’t have a degree. I now make 6 figures. I got here by working my god dam ass off for my entire life.

Not every one can pull them up by the bootstraps and make a better life for themselves. I get that. I’m perfectly happy to support those in need. But at least give it a shot, OK? Oddly, it’s Trumps supporters, so called Republicans that are looking for hand outs (that they won’t get from Trump)

Yes, the so called republicans piss me off a bit. Instead of voting for assholes, get off your asses.

Because we tell them. And when we do, they get angry and declare it to be fake news. They don’t argue that destroying your state department is a fair trade for a tax cut large enough to let them buy some sweet new tires for the ATV, they just attribute the criticism to being what the intellectuals among them call ‘butt-hurt’.

Not all, mind you. Some are honest enough to admit to being sociopaths who will vote for a torturer if that torturer promises to give them money. But by and large criticism of Trump is met with denials of the blatantly obvious; they don’t defend Trump’s inadequacies and failures, they pretend such failures don’t exist.

I don’t see why thump doesn’t just hold a rally and declare, “The wall is built! It’s finished, and the Mexican government paid for every penny! Another win for my administration! Win! Win! Win!” < leads chanting>

Any physical evidence to the contrary he can just label fake news and blame O’Hillary for undermining him. I’ll bet not one Republican congressman would call him out in it.

Just to be clear, this is the stock market:

3M(NYSE:MMM) ExxonMobil(NYSE:XOM) Microsoft(NASDAQ:MSFT)
American Express(NYSE:AXP)	General Electric(NYSE:GE)	Nike(NYSE:NKE)
Apple(NASDAQ:AAPL) Goldman Sachs(NYSE:GS)	Pfizer(NYSE:PFE)
Boeing(NYSE:BA) Home Depot(NYSE:HD) Procter & Gamble(NYSE:PG)
Caterpillar(NYSE:CAT)	IBM(NYSE:IBM) Travelers, Inc.(NYSE:TRV)
Chevron*(NYSE:CVX) Intel(NASDAQ:INTC) United Technologies(NYSE:UTX)
Cisco(NASDAQ:CSCO)	Johnson & Johnson*(NYSE:JNJ) UnitedHealth(NYSE:UNH)
Coca-Cola*(NYSE:KO)	JPMorgan Chase(NYSE:JPM) Verizon(NYSE:VZ)
Disney(NYSE:DIS) McDonalds(NYSE:MCD) Visa(NYSE:V)
DowDuPont(NYSE:DWDP)	Merck(NYSE:MRK) Wal-Mart(NYSE:WMT)

When the market is up or down x points, it is a changed marked amongst those 30 stocks. Which represent the largest, most powerful companies in the US, perhaps the world. (who have everyone’s best interests at heart. /s).

Now, I can understand the point of view that that is a good way to measure how well we are doing, which has basically been hammered into our psyches like gospel. Yet, the strength of those companies might also be seen as a measure of the growing economic divide in our society, the stratification of castes. If nothing else, it offers no valuable information on the condition of “Main Street”, or it might actually reflect its decline, the growing inaccessibility of the greater economy to just Joe.

What I am saying is that the numbers are not the picture. Sometimes they give a hint about it, but I would surely not rely on them to tell us the mood of the nation or of the voters.

Taking our country back? Back to when?

I may have proposed this before, but I think the dems should go with the motto: Don’t take our country back, let’s take our country forward!

The DOW is, more or less, the pulse of the economy. And I say this because, like a pulse, it is a quick way to check that someone is still alive, but it is not a good way to diagnose problems.

If you see a massive drop in the DOW, that could portend poor economics. A stead growth in the DOW indicates a growing economy.

However, while it is a useful one stop metric to get a basic feel of the performance of the economy, it is certainly not even close to all the info you need to have in order to get a good grasp on the actual health of all the components that go into an economy.

If the only thing you look at is the DOW, you are going to have severe problems understanding why it does what it does, and how that has nothing to do with hat is in your paycheck or wallet.

#MALA (Make America Litigate Again)

Same as usual. Threatening to ignore any budget proposal after September unless funding for The Great Wall of Trump is included.

Umm… The stock market means nothing to trump supporters. Unfortunately, many have no investments. Nothing for retirement. Bummer. And will end up to be all our problem/s. Voting for an asshole that will take any subsistence or help away from themselves to give to the super rich is probably not a good idea.

Just IMHO of course. As they vote against themselves just to piss off so called ‘liberals’, I find myself having less and less compassion for them.

I’d prefer Make America Literate Again

Boris Johnson will not be meeting Trump when he visits DC.

He’s opted for the more direct way to communicate the British government’s concerns about Iran to the President of the United States: via Fox & Friends

Well of course; since that way he can be sure that Trump will actually (well, probably) be listening to him.

Besides, putting two egos of that size in the same room could be hazardous…

…pictures the walls exploding.

Not to be an ass, but I think it important to note most Americans are NOT immigrants. The great majority of Americans are native born.

I’m Canadian, not American, but also native born, and I think it important I remember that. “We’re all immigrants” sounds good, but the fact is I’m not; I was born here and so were my parents, and their parents, and this is the only country I have, and that confers upon me enormous advantage and privilege. I didn’t struggle to come here, or make a home here, or get companies here to recognize my skills, or learn a language, or try to change my accent, or have people ask “but where are you REALLY from?” or pine for relative in a faraway land, or fight through fifty shitloads of administrative nonsense to try to become a citizen, or - God forbid - lie awake at night fearful I might get sent away from my new home. Immigrants DO go through all those things and, inmy humblest of opinions, I feel like I should appreciate what I have to appreciate what they go through.

I realize I was born on third base, you see. Trumpists think they hit a triple, the dumb shits.

Bringing in a sense of cluster fucks past, Oliver North will be the next president of the NRA.

Jeff Sessions says administration policy is to separate immigrant parents from their children.

Of course, we all know how well that works out when an executive bureau is run by the Keystone Kops…
