The markets may not be in bear territory yet, but this is the real danger with Trump. There’s no strategy, just ego. He escalates and counter-escalates. I suspect eventually he will concede and then claim he’s won something, when in reality he’s just agreeing to whatever was already proposed.
We can shrug it off at first, but at some point, people and markets, are going to eventually come to the conclusion that this dotard is no businessman, no negotiator, and has no idea what he’s doing. But he has trillions of dollars of treasury and God-like powers in his hands.
…and the aliens were the Kanamit. Played in the Twilight Zone by Richard Kiel (later “Jaws” in the Bond films) with a big domed forehead. But in the original story, pig-like aliens.
Some people like the story so much they base their sig lines on it.
I’m wondering if General Beauregard possibly fired himself with this CNN interview.
Perhaps this was Trump’s intent all along? Or maybe it’s not, but truth be damned, he could certainly view this as an opportunity to blame someone else - someone he’s wanted to fire for a long time - for his own position.
I saw another story about a Congressman who tried to enter a facility. Are Senators and such just able to show up and gain access to these facilities? Seems like they would need to run it through somebody first, if only to set up escorts or something.
Why aren’t they publicizing the address of this facility so that concerned Americans can show up to seek an accounting of what is being done in their names?
It’s good to see a story in the news where referring to the people involved as ‘Good Christians’ is entirely true, and not a sarcastic synonym for ‘distorting or discarding all of Christ’s teachings, but thinking they’re good with him because they hate the queers’.
On the other hand, it’s sad we’ve gotten to the point where that is the newsworthy version…
You can read the 1967 Outer Space Treaty for yourself (it’s not long). Your concerns are specifically about Article IV, which proscribes against nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, as well as being generally against military outposts on the moon (or other celestial bodies). Nothing about satellites or weapons of general, wanton destruction (bullets firing from a gun are fine, so long as they are not Rods of Doom).
