The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Donny Junior: “You see the Nazi platform from the early 1930s . . . and you look at it, compared to the DNC platform of today, you’re saying, ‘Man, those things are awfully similar’ to a point where it’s actually scary. It’s the exact opposite of what you’ve been told.”

She was specifically asked several times to say that the press is not the enemy of the people. She refused. It is now the official US policy that the press is the enemy of the people.

Jim Acosta actually got up and walked out. They all should have.

Sarah the Huckster lied about the press reporting on classified information yesterday.

Decorated Army medic discharged and threatened with deportation since it was revealed that her student visa, which she thought was valid, was obtained through fraud not of her own doing.

Cool first comment I saw in the comments section:

As is often the case, the Trumpites are employing doublethink plus projection: using the actual historical Nazi “Big Lie” technique as “proof” that they themselves are not using a Big Lie to smear their opposition.

Search ‘big lie’ on Google and your second, third, and fourth hits will be Trumpite claims that they’re not the ones employing a Big Lie (heavens, the very thought!):

Convoluted, but that’s the way they like it.

How will this improve national security? Smart terrorists will just attack from smaller airports.

Today, the entire national security cabinet (Homeland Security, DNI, Bolton, etc) stood before the media and stated unequivocally that Russia is attempting to interfere with the 2018 election, but that they’re on the case.

I wonder: did we just witness a mini-coup? How much of this was on their own and in defiance of their boss?

This will end up in multiple threads, because I want to be sure that no one misses it.

Trump wants the ACLU to do the government’s job and fix the child separation issue, because the Trump administration can’t figure out how the government could do it.

I’m sure the vast resources of the ACLU dwarf the capabilities of the United States federal government.

The ACLU said. effectively, “Fuck off; we’re happy to help these families but this is your mess.”

What kind of numbers are we talking about? Good question; here’s the answer:

Helluva supply of chutzpah, eh? To create a problem and then draw a plan for others to fix it? Sounds like something only the nuclear energy industry or the military or petro/chemical companies or drycleaners or the paper industry or… hmmm, I guess there is precedent in America for that after all.

Still: I don’t like it. The Trump administration should fix their own messes as long as they are still in control. Messing things up, letting Democrats fix them and then bitching about the fix is a GOP staple for the past 30 years and I think it’s time to end that game.

It’s their prelude toward getting out front of a blue tide in November. If the Democrats really do win big, they can claim that Russia interfered to make them win and throw complete doubt on the 2018 election. It’s typical Republican projection combined with The Big Lie.

I think the reality is much less nefarious. IMHO: at the cabinet level – despite their many, grievous, flaws – they’re genuinely appalled at the idea of Russian meddling; and politically, they know they’re getting killed by the Administration’s inept response to the attack. So they took it upon themselves to do what their boss is unable and/or unwilling to do: make a strong statement on the problem and the response (and pretend that Trump is right there with them.)

Fucking senate yesterday failed to grant a mere $250 million into election cyber security, despite last November ok’ing a $700 billion defense authorization.

Just great, especially when a cyber threat is more of a relevant, likely threat to the US than an actual conventional military threat.

Well, they are definitely pretending as Trump tonight at his rally declared once again that the Russia thing is a hoax.

And if there should be a blue wave, Trump won’t hesitate to use their statements to say Russia did interfere to help the Democrats. And who believes that any Republican will stand up and say “no, my esteemed Democrat opponent beat me fair and square.”

I certainly don’t. At this point, I’d have to do a visual check for honesty if a Republican deigned to tell me the color of the sky was blue.

They’ll crow about it loudly and challenge the Democrats about it, of course. If the situation was reversed, tho, the Democrats would do nothing, not even shout about it.

Frankly, that’s a winning situation for the GOP.

It’s win-win, dude.

It lets Russia interfere in favour of Trump ; and if that’s not enough to secure a continued stranglehold on Congress they can turn around and assert the Democrats won by tampering the vote. Hell, maybe even setup some bullshit investigations to gum up the works and slow things down to a crawl ; or lock up the works completely by refusing to allow any law to pass because “They stole the election ! They’re not allowed to legislate !”
Just further eroding the democratic process, brick by brick and institution by institution. I have no idea how you guys are going to bounce back from three more years of this type of crap.

Yeah I’m well aware that’s their endgame; hopefully it won’t turn out like Zimbabwe has been lately, which, sure, is a hyperbolic comparison, but Sessions and other Reps have been trying to foist this off by saying that the states still have unspent funds from a 2018 $380 million budget appropriation.

/nitpick/ Present company excluded for this Canuck. /nitpick/

A year ago I created a list of 100+ URL’s pointing to evidence of the nastiness and venality of Donald Trump and his accursed regime. I gave up, and am retiring the list. The evil deeds that outraged me have been surpassed by fresh deeds, continually even more stupid and even more evil.

For example:

In saner days, this would be impossible; the low-level bureaucrat who proposed it would become a laughing-stock. If West Wing of the Black House had an episode on this, the series would be canceled for jumping the shark.

Jesus cries.

@ Snowboarder Bo — you posted in several threads? All in the Pit? Where’s the thread where the imbeciles and monsters who support this Satan defend his actions? What do they say about this? MAGA?
Some clever Doper needs to find a meme transforming MAGA to Maggot.

#MAGAt. Been using it for a couple of years now.
