Tragically, a great many Americans have faith in their guns, and just like their faith in their god, they will not question their faith, because for them faith trumps facts and reason. For them their faith is sacred.

I am not sure I would be keen on entering my place of worship if I knew there was someone just inside the door on a hair trigger.
The guy didn’t vote for Trump, but he believed Republican party propaganda. The Republican party is to blame for this. Maybe, had Republicans not lied about caravans of asylum seekers being funded by der Juden, he’d have done something else. Or maybe not. But the Republican party did lie, this nazi acted on those lies, and now people who aren’t nazis (a safe assumption) are dead. The Republican party is to blame for this.
Not only would this cut down on attendance at religious services, but the services themselves might end if congregations had to pay for armed guards. That’s not an inexpensive proposition. And many houses of worship are hanging on financially by just a thread, as it is.
