Wow! Scary and pathetic!
From what I recall, the subpoena is to Mazars (Trump’s accounting firm), not to Trump himself. Mazars has stated they will comply with the subpoena once Trump’s lawsuit was resolved. If the Supreme Court denies certiorari, the Appeals Court ruling stands and Mazars turns over the documents. The 2nd Appeals ruling pointed out that being President isn’t sufficient justification to insert himself as a third party in a legal decision between a State and a private enterprise.
IANAL, so I hope that my interpretation is not too far off the mark.
Matt Bevin has lost reelection in Kentucky, a state Loser Donald carried by 30 points in 2016.
Time for the Biggest Loser to tweet about how he never heard of the man he held a rally for yesterday.
Another country heard from,
Pretty words. Not sure I believe them. Except for the “President” part. Who is president of our Republic.
He also that everybody should vote for the Republicans in Virginia, and the Democrats took the House and the Senate.
Yes, that was the greatest defeat in the history of the world.
According to a statement from Brad Parscale, Trump “just about dragged Gov. Matt Bevin across the finish line…” Loser Donnie not strong enough to get him there. Sad.
Well, it was a tough drag considering the Republican was down 15 points, or 17 points, or 20 points.
(The race was even.)
Either that, or he will call Kentucky voters traitors.
It could be if you think of it as a sign of Donny’s coattails shredding a little. Maybe – just maybe – it will break enough Senate Republicans’ enthrallment to allow a conviction in an impeachment trial.
Don’t be too enthusiastic about Kentucky. Republicans won every thing else including ousting a few democrats.
Bevins was a complete shithole and the last minute tactic of screaming, “I’m anti-abortion” almost put the moran back in office.
Actually, I doubt that. If he actually was removed from office before the next election, I think it will hurt Republicans down ballot next year. But if he survives in the Senate, he can claim victory against the evil Democrats and quite possibly win big.
I would like to be optimistic, and think that in the event that the Senate acquits Trump in an obvious partisan manner, ignoring the evidence that the public can plainly see…
that this will provoke a massive upswing in Democratic voter turnout, to the extent that the House increases it’s majority, and the senate flips big-time. Many Republican toadies will lose their senate seats.
I’m not usually optimistic, however.
Honestly, the public can already plainly see that he’s unfit for the job, an embarrassment to the country and corrupt as hell and it doesn’t seem to bother a good fraction of the electorate.
This is pretty much what I expect to happen. A resulting upswing to some degree, the magnitude of which I will not try to predict. After Donald Motherfucking Trump won the electoral college race, I gave up the prediction thing.
I don’t believe the Fraternal Order Of Police. If they had their way, NO police would EVER be challenged, questioned, brought up on charges, or ANYTHING. Fuck them.
Fuck trump, the other above the law guy TOO.
Well well well. Trump held a Nuremberg rally there and yammered some noise about “don’t do this to me” (if the Repub loses) - yeah, it was all about him again. His whole “speech” was another word salad of insanity, lies, attacks on everyone else, and self aggrandizement.
Joe Scarborough was loving it. It was close, and the indication is, if Trump had stayed away, it COULD have gone the other way. Joe is saying it is Trump’s fault that the guy lost in such a red state.
In other news, the lady who lost her job for flipping off Trump, just got elected to public office.
EXCELLENT!!!
Joe could be right, since I think every position other than governor went to the Republicans. Which is pretty damned disheartening.
That could be symptomatic of people showing up for the sole purpose of voting against Blevins/Trump personally. Which would not surprise me.
