Trump does not like one of the more inquisitive TV press members (well to be fair to the portly pumpkin, he hates hates hates one more than the hates many of the others), so he tried to get her moved to the back of the room and have a less vocal text press member take her seat. Both of them refused. The secret service denies involvement, but the White House asserts the contrary.
So which is it? Trump’s Shite House lying, or the Secret Service lying? It’s one or the other or both. Whichever it is, the Secret Service being directed directly or indirectly by Trump to quelch the White House Press Corp’s seating authority is one hell of a thing re. the 1st Amendment.
I also wonder how the Secret Service diplomatically told Trump via his staff that it would not intervene, how much this ignoring of Trump’s authority might have been one of the contributing factors resulting in Trump’s most recent infantile tantrum of ceasing press conferences, and if it now has Trump – the personal loyalty or purge Trump – getting paranoid about the loyalty of the Secret Service, a la tin pot dictators prior to their being forcibly removed.
What’s going on inside Trump’s mind? Paranoia? Megalamania? Chirping Crickets?
Yeah, from a professional pride view point, the Secret Service isn’t going to want to get involved in that. If the correspondent is a risk to the President’s safety, she’ll be removed entirely.
Beyond that, seating assignments aren’t (or shouldn’t be) their problem.
Of course, Trump doesn’t give a shit about the actual roles of various groups under his purview.
FWIW, Wallace renounced and apologized for his former segregationist views later in his life. Personally, as much as I loathed him, he would be preferable to the present unmitigated disaster. Wallace at least had some degree of competence.
Remember when Individual 1 said that the Iran treaty was canceled? Well, apparently, it’s only canceled when it comes to the US, but when it comes to Iran and the rest of the world, apparently Individual 1 and his Secretary of State think it still applies to them.
You, along with everyone else, missed the fine print, the very fine print (the best print). The actual and complete title of that thing is The Art of the Deal With It, “It” of course referring to the crap he’s always pulled and is continuing to pull now.
Rethinking my post above, it probably is better, as in more appropriate, as follows.
You, along with everyone else, missed the fine print, the very fine print (the best print). The actual and complete title of that thing is: The Art of the Forcing of You to Deal With It, “It” of course referring to the crap he’s always pulled and is continuing to pull now.
Remember, folks; if you want to understand what’s happening with that jackass in the White House, all you have to remember is that toddlers do not change their own diapers. Too often, they take the things off and fling poo everywhere.
Trump has gained notoriety for corrupting (nearly) everyone who crosses paths with him.
But as far as I’ve seen, the Secret Service (and Tiffany) has stayed above it all – at least, there haven’t been any known scandals with them yet. Will this remain so?
Of course he’s lying. He’s incapable of telling the truth. Hell, he hopes every time he opens his mouth, his minions, flunkies, and worshipers will run with his blather and make it go viral.
