The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

The Senate went on August break this evening, but before they left they voted 100 to nothing to hold pro forma sessions during the break to keep Trump from making recess appointments.

I’m wondering how many bottles of whiskey Trump’s attorneys and John Kelley have gone through over the past week.

And to think that at one time a visit with Mariah would have been considered the worst fate that could befall a goat …

Trump is getting fenced in now. He is quickly losing whatever support he had from a senate that was skeptical from the start but accepted him because McConnell thought Trump could be their useful idiot. Senator Brutus, er, McConnell’s way of saying, know thy place, Caesar.

Ah, tradition! o/ They call the squid Mariah... o/

Remember what Brutus did next.

Did you ever notice that they changed Brutus’s name to Bluto on Popeye?

Is this unusual in recent history? Just wondering, as it’s a link to the Daily Mail which I trust about as much as I trust The Onion for factual news stories.

Brutus was the guy who gave that inspiring speech
… What? Over? Did you say “over”? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! …

There is a good article on the front page of the NY Times about General Kelly imposing military discipline on the WH staff but having no authority over Trump himself. As if to confirm this, Trump held a rally in West Virginia tonight giving a speech about Russia being a “fabrication” and carrying on again about Hillary’s emails.

There is an old Italian saying that the fish stinks from the head down. The orange stinky head of this dysfunctional fish is as rancid as ever. The clusterfuck will keep on fuckin’ despite Kelly’s best efforts.

Bluto.

Forget it. He’s on a roll.

Yes, it’s been done before, most recently to prevent Obama from appointing a USSC justice last summer.

But 100-0? I’m going to guess that the Democratic Senators didn’t vote for the pro-forma sessions?

Hah! I just found out the real meaning of “MAGA”: Morons Are Governing America.

I’m fond of “Making Attorneys Get Attorneys”.

In this White House you have to - you never know when you’ll need to respawn. If only the WH Communication Directors had learned that lesson…

Wait - is this the old-model easily-hackable cellphone he’s been using for ages? Because gosh, no security issues there…

By “short” are we talking overall height or do I need to go Google pictures of his hands?

Earlier in the thread, there were suggestions on what we should call the current President. I liked ‘Dolt 45’. I’ve changed my mind, and I’ve started referring to him as…

Failing Trump.

While the other suggestions are funny, I move that we spread ‘Failing Trump’ as A) Accurate; and B) Using his own meme against him.

It’s unusual for the POTUS’ own party to block recess appointments. Obama’s recess appointments were actually blocked by the House, which forced the Senate to hold pro forma sessions in 2012 by holding their own (when one chamber is in session, the other one must be too).

My understanding of this is that it’s done by “unanimous consent” so there’s only a vote if someone objects.
