Too bad he didn’t have that attitude when he endorsed Trump to ensure his own re-election.

McCain’s legacy will be mixed. On one hand, he was the POW who endured torture. On the other, he came back and dumped his wife because she became partially disabled and overweight after and accident. On one hand, he was able to work with Democrats on some issues. On the other, he loved going on the Sunday talking head shows and trash Obama at every opportunity. He won’t be with us much longer- when he goes the Republican governor will appoint a Republican successor who may give the Republicans the key vote to destroy the ACA that McCain couldn’t bring himself to cast. So I wish for him a pain free exit from the world, but also hope he doesn’t go until after the midterms.
That scandal sure had a long damn fuse on it, when did we first hear about box car loads of oxy being delivered to smallish rural population centers? Six months, year or more? We sure sprang into action, didn’t we?
And the old double-whammy! Just when we got huge numbers of people hooked on opiates and turning to black market sources, fentanyl arrives. Absurdly powerful, a jet engine boost for smack. And the illicit manufacture leaves little room and less concern for quality control. Two hits from the same stash of powder, one delivers a serious buzz, the other delivers the last one.
