The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues (Part 2)

Actually it was acid, just a very weak acid AKA cider vinegar. As to why the assailant chose this substance it could be that it was intimidation along the lines of “It could have been acid and next time will be”, if he was aimging for her eyes and missed or if he was just really stupid and thought that all acids were the same.

This explanation and the other theories are not mutually exclusive. In fact, all three could be true simultaneously.

Did we talk about the $Mellania movie in this thread or was there another one for the mocking? Never mind, here is a nice Substack. It has all been said, but it bears repeating:

How 'bout Rubio’s “plan” for the Venezuela?

We’re not at war, we are not occupying the country the Maduro capture wasn’t an invasion it was just a one time think to catch a criminal. Coincidentally however we expect Valenzuela to do what we want and aren’t ruling out military action if they start getting the uppity idea that they are in any way a sovereign nation.

Speaking of which what we want is to take all of its oil revenue send it to Qatar (who presumably will take a cut and send a share to Trump’s personal account) from which it will go to the US Treasury, after which a few crumbs will be sent to the Venezuelan government as his Orangeness sees fit. As to why this convoluted scheme is necessary? Reasons.

I heard an NPR interview with Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) this morning and she told me that awhile back, she wanted to set up an independent commission to investigate wrongdoing by ICE.

But the Big Beautiful Bill actually made it illegal for independent investigations to hold ICE accountable. Can you believe that?

Where the fuck was the Senate parliamentarian?

Being discussed in the Schadenfreude thread last I checked.

My Minnesota brother is wondering what line of his 1040 he is supposed to report his Soros payments on.

I think you meant the “woke” Constitution.

Ahhhh, Grasshopper… I think you have put your finger on the problem…

You mad bro?

I’ll bet he doesn’t even lift.

Colbert last night showed screen shots on Fandango, two theaters – in NYC I think – without a single seat sold for Friday.

So far my Amazon boycot is holding firm.

“I don’t want to drive housing prices down. I want to drive housing prices up”

“My friend, who is very successful, seriously overweight person, he takes the fat shot … crude individual but smart as hell, made a lot of money … I told him it wasn’t working … very well-known business person.” (Is “your friend” in the room with us, Donald?)

“"I spoke with Macron. He was not at that time wearing sunglasses.”

Which would probably still be cheaper than US drug prices, not to mention a far better idea, socially.

Plus the ever-present bonus of Trump still not understanding who pays the tariffs.

25% on champagne and wine? That is nicely down from the 200% he threatened last week. TACO!
Speaking of TACO: There are kits for that. Saw them in my supermarket recently. Probably there is even an app for him, to make it easier in his dotard days:

Caught this video this morning. It’s a German guy who’s telling us a cautionary tale – one that most of us either tell, are familiar with, or wouldn’t argue against – based on the dark history of his country and the parallels that many see between them, then and us, now.

It’s about 7-1/2 minutes. Worth it, IMHO.

Here it is in text, online, for those who prefer:

Germans, by and large – even academics and historians – are loath to weigh in on comparisons between Trump and Hitler. By doing so, they fear, they will weaken the ignominious place in history that Hitler holds.

From friends of friends who know German historians, though, word is consistent: those who know believe the parallels are undeniable, innumerable, and cause for grave concern.

Trump already had his Beer Hall Putsch. He also famously kept a copy of “My New Order a Collection of Speeches by Adolph Hitler” by his bedside.

Those ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it.

Or perish.

trump poisoning Pam Blondi to test the cyanide, then use it on himself and Melanoma in the bunker, I mean, basement of the WH would be a wonderful parallel that couldn’t be denied.

Unfortunately, we’d need a bunch of Russian troops closing in on Washington DC to make the parallel perfect.

Would the Russian bot-farms count?

While Stephen Goebbels kills his six children and his wife in the room at the end of the corridor, and then poisons himself and gets burned by his valet?

Spoilered and need to click to get there, it is not nice even for the Pit.

They count in my book.

Not nice but powerful and apt.

The eldest daughter, twelve, knew what was happening and resisted.
