The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues (Part 2)

"Sir, could I have a little breakfast so we could discuss this bill?’ You know, like a perfect bill, like voter ID or something. But Bill didn’t have to be too great to do it. He said, ‘Can we maybe have a little breakfast at the White House, sir?’ ‘Come on over for breakfast, Bill.’

“We have some wonderful people outside. We have some of the biggest politicians in American outside, and when they heard about Elvis, they said, ‘We’ll do that.’”

“Do you know the story of the paperclip? 182 years ago a man discovered the paperclip. It was so simple. And everybody that looked it thought, ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’ ICE was my idea.”

About Trump’s supposed “productive conversations” he had with Iran in the last day or two. Conversations that Iran denies took place.

Many commentators have mentioned how ironic it is that we now generally believe the spokesman from Iran over the president of the USA.

However, a question - is it possible that the folks behind Trump are creating AI “conversations” for him to take part in? Or possibly just get actors to pretend to have these conversations? It would be pretty easy to do. And would explain why Trump thinks he’s talking to people who don’t exist. (Helps explain why he thinks he talked to some former President who agrees with his war).

Or is it just Trump being Trump and lying about every single thing in the world?

It’s right out of the fascist playbook; the enemy is both contemptible and a deadly threat at the same time.

I am fond of the idea that trump is being led through a “Potemkin Presidency” by his keepers. But even they have to know that him talking about these things he’s doing with fake leaders will eventually get exposed.

Won’t it?

Looks like the ICE agents “ramming the manparts” have no idea what they’re supposed to be doing there either.

On the plus side, the fact that Trump isn’t letting them wear masks means it’s going to make it a LOT easier for people to ruin their reputations for life.

Re: TSA & ICE at airports:

has anybody in the US remarked that we could actually do without airport security altogether, as we did for many decades? We could save money AND make flying better, all without dramatically affecting actual airport security.

Becky sent me Jello that makes more sense than this asshole. It’s the “Often Talked About Seldom Seen” Peach flavor, so they are the same color.

Plus the longer they spend twiddling their thumbs, the fewer working people they can harass

Of course they are floating the idea of closing a number of smaller airports which I think would simply put more pressure on the system and cause more incidents/accidents.

I’m on the same trip and have added several hours to make my connections just in case.

ICE Agents Are Now Patrolling U.S. Airports. Here’s What to Know.

The deployment comes as a battle over Department of Homeland Security funding has led to closed security checkpoints, long lines and missed flights.

Mr. Trump wrote on social media on Saturday that ICE officers’ duties at airports would include “the immediate arrest of all illegal immigrants who have come into our Country.” But there have so far been no reports of arrests connected to the deployment.

How is that helping TSA with long lines, hmmm?

Good to know. I’ll see you in Lisbon!

Clearly, the lines are all illegal immigrants!

I don’t even like flying when everything is problem free.

Isn’t that the truth! I’m old enough to remember when flying was fun and a little bit glamorous. Your vacation began when you got to the airport. No more. And, sadly, never again.

Very wise.

Apparently an actual tweet from the Iranian embassy in South Africa (thus the address), mocking one of Trump’s claims about the war.

The Imperial Corps of Enforcers (ICE) isn’t reducing wait times.

Maybe this is why it’s not working out as planned. Or is it?

Unrelated? Yeah, right.

Oh, my, my, my. Let it be. Please let it be.

I’m dancing in the street over this part.

He’s not joking.

I’m really looking forward to this November’s elections. As a matter of curiosity, exactly what procedural members does the new congress have to deal with before it can do something of substance such as, say, IMPEACH!! THE FELON!!! I will thank you for your attention to that matter.

That’s the default explanation. Lying has worked consistently for him, so why not keep doing it?

Goosing the stock market into a temporary gain for political advantage by floating nonexistent talks (plus the pleasure of manipulating investors like marionettes) probably has appeal as well.

For what it is worth, I don’t think Trump lies like other people lie. Most people consider a question and decide that the honest answer would lead to an undesirable outcome so they come up with something different to keep the odds in their favor. But Trump has not a fuck to give in this category so he never needs to analyze what is being said and come up with something better than honesty. Instead, he just says whatever is true for him at that moment.

Note that while “true for him” might occasionally, accidentally overlap with actual, verifiable truth, it tends not to because DJT is a whimsical son of a bitch whose brain is increasingly turning to soup and leaking out his ear.

Note also that “true for him” can change from moment to moment but should anyone ever point this out they are only doing so for nasty fake news purposes.
