The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues (Part 2)

Serious question here. Isn’t citizenship, as interpreted today, basically a product of colonialism?

Again we have Trump admitting to multiple cognitive exams. Hey Trump, that isn’t done for someone with a healthy brain, even if they ask. And yes, they are always going to tell you that you did a great job. Or maybe they didn’t… do you remember? Do you know who you are? Where you are? What you are doing at any given moment? Well, don’t worry about it, you aced the cognitive test just like you dodged STDs in your college days. Certainly you remember those, don’t you?

You know why no STD has infested him? Professinal courtesy.

Does he know where he is? Hell, is he even awake? Thus my new moniker for the felon: Rip van Simple.

Gosh, Monty, you give us that, and I like it; but @Johnny_L.A gave us “Mr. Potato Head,” and I like that too. Which to use, which to use…?

Sleepy potato head?

I have Wernike-Korsakov, so I do these tests fairly regularly. If a doctor told me “good job” - rather than me boasting about it, I would be highly offended… because it is diagnostic, not skills based.

I can at least, based on my experience with these tests, offer a diagnosis: you have a complete cretin in charge of your country.

That will be 50 cents, please.

Apparently typeface was too woke? Poor Little Marco, so desperate for a drop of Daddy Trump’s approval. What a tool.

In this case, I think the anti-DEI thing is being used as cover for what is actually just an abhorrence for change and modernity.

“If Times New Roman was good enough for the Founding Fathers, it’s good enough for us!”

Yesterday Mr Rubio announced the State Department will be reverting to manual typewriters

"Switching to word processors achieved nothing except the degradation of the department’s official correspondence,” Mr. Rubio said.

Allegedly.

As weird and stupid as this administration is, I wouldn’t be surprised if the advocacy of Times New Roman were somehow motivated by a sympathy for the throwback aesthetics of Mussolini’s fascism. “Look, it’s got ‘Roman’ in the name and everything!”

Probably a coincidence, but….

“In his memo, Bormann explained: “Today the Führer, in conversation with Reichsleiter Amann and printing press owner Adolf Müller, has decided that from now on the Antiqua typeface should be the standard. Over time, all printed matter should be switched over to this standard typeface.”

Probably coincidence as far as fonts are concerned but not a coincidence at all in terms of how authoritarian governance tends to result in capricious decision making.

(From the Woody Allen film Bananas — as most of you know, I suspect.)

But it’s also got “Times” in the name, and given how much Sleepy Don hates the New York Times, you’d think he’d want to ban that as well!

(Yes, I know the name of the font comes from a different “Times,” but does he?)

And they got rid of Calibri in official government posts for a reason that’s just as awful as you might expect - because sans-serif fonts are easier to read for people with disabilities.

Whoa! Off-the-cuff psychiatric diagnoses used to be only 5 cents. This inflation is killing us.

One question about the clusterfucker in chief: he keeps claiming that the dangerous southern border is closed. Is there any actual truth to that? Have crossings even slowed down? No one ever shows any evidence, so naturally I don’t believe them. But I am curious as to the truth.

According to the federal government, yes. Historically low numbers.

Which doesn’t surprise me. These days, if you’re a Latin American looking for a better life, the USA is the last place you should be trying to enter.

Except it’s run by anti-science liars, so we can’t trust their claims at all. Likely they themselves don’t even know and they are just making things up without bothering to even collect the data, even assuming that the people who are supposed to collect the data haven’t been fired.
