Weidong “Bill” Guan, 63, admitted in Manhattan federal court that he took part in a scheme prosecutors say laundered about $67 million in fraud proceeds, including money from fraudulently obtained unemployment benefits, through bank accounts linked to the New York-based media company and related entities.
The conspiracy charge carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss additional charges that could have resulted in a longer sentence. Judge Victor Marrero has not yet scheduled sentencing. Guan remains free on bail.
During the hearing, Guan acknowledged that he knew there was “a high probability” that the money flowing through the accounts he oversaw came from criminal activity.
No doubt he’ll receive a pardon from his fellow convict.
Hegseth frustrated over his fixation on other men’s follicles.
Washington — As they juggle ongoing U.S. military operations against Iran and a host of other national security challenges, senior Pentagon officials have also been pressing ahead on a far different priority: tightening the grooming, fitness and appearance standards of the American service members.
Military officials have recently taken steps to address troops who fail to meet hair, weight and physical fitness standards, nine months after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a blunt message to a room full of admirals and generals at Marine Corps Base Quantico, declaring there would be “no more beardos” and “fat troops.”
The renewed emphasis comes as Hegseth, an Army National Guard veteran and former Fox News host, has privately complained in recent days about seeing service members with facial hair and has expressed frustration over lapses in physical training and violations of military height and weight standards, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

Look past its gaudiness, though, and you’ll notice some things that’re a little off in the finer details. The talons are horribly deformed and shaped differently from each other. The entire legs are uneven, too, and the base of them are represented as a strange conglomeration of blobs, which are also inconsistent. In fact, the whole thing is slightly asymmetrical. The wings have an uneven number of feathers. The two olive branches — another error in itself, because the eagle is supposed to be clutching a bundle of arrows in its right-side talon — have differing numbers of leaves. And the shield only has eleven stripes, as opposed to the thirteen that the actual Great Seal is supposed to feature.
Have we just spent the past couple of sentences blazoning AI slop? Eagle-eyed and outraged netizens didn’t hesitate to make this diagnosis, with one Reddit thread calling out the Trump logo’s incongruities going viral.

Controversial Twitch streamer and progressive activist Hasan Piker went off on Fox News this week in a flamethrowing rant that led to conservative commentator Scott Jennings suggesting Fox News should sue Piker.
A two-minute rant from Piker’s Wednesday stream about the sexual assault allegations against Graham Platner was clipped and quickly went viral on social media. Piker has joined several progressive candidates on the campaign trail this election cycle, including Michigan’s Abdul El-Sayed , but he was not a Platner supporter.
During the scathing attack on Fox News, Piker said, “Fox News is RapeTV, okay? It’s the pro-rape network. The candidates that it puts forward and defends — many of which are rapists. The hosts, some of the most prominent hosts on the network, were such prolific rapists that other women who were on the network had successfully sued them. Okay, the idea that this is — all of a sudden these fucking liberal blowhards are endlessly pontificating about the dangers of sexual violence and sexual assault. It’s like watching the stimulus response of a single-celled organism. Gas prices go up, Trump makes entreaties to Iran resulting in a temporary ceasefire. The market responds and gas prices start to ease, Trump feels the economic pressure reduce, and he starts making threats again. Rinse and repeat.
