Why now? We (US) have been ignoring the court all this time.
Is this “distraction” related to US war crimes committed recently and ongoing? (If you need examples; murder on the high seas, abduction and assassination of sovereign state leaders, coordinated bomb and missile attacks on foreign nations without a formal declaration of war, blocades of foreign countries based on whims and “gut” feelings, …).
Does this relate to the incarceration and murder of foreign nationals within the US?
How do you feel about invasion threats to Cuba, Canada, Greenland, Iceland
How about those Epstein files?
Could be related to Netanyahu. He’s not exactly on good terms with the ICC at the moment.

Back in his first term he somehow convinced himself that Scandinavian countries don’t have wildfires because they “rake the forest”, because he can’t grasp that wildfires are part of the North American ecosystem which have been exacerbated by human activity and climate change.

President Donald Trump accused U.S. TV networks that opted not to broadcast his election security speech of being engaged in a “plot” and said they should lose their licenses.
“In a rare move, NBC and ABC ‘Fake’ News have both said that they would not cover this speech. They knew what it was about,” Trump said during his 25-minute address Thursday night.
As he made a series of allegations about foreign interference in U.S. elections, Trump claimed the major TV networks “are part of a plot, they want to continue this fraud, for whatever reason.”
Doubling down on his stance, he said: “Fraud like this should mean a revocation of their licenses.”
The White House’s Rapid Response social media account also lashed out at CNN for opting against a live broadcast of the speech.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Wednesday, July 15, that it is now mandatory for all service members age 30 and older to test their testosterone levels every year. Younger service members have the option to get tested too.
Hegseth said in a video titled "The High T Department of War ” that service members found to have “testosterone deficiency” could choose to receive testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Hegseth said he had authorized the screenings to ensure that service members “have the right testosterone levels” to operate at their “absolute best.”
“This initiative—it’s not about artificial enhancement, it’s about restoring and optimizing your natural capabilities, protecting your longevity, and ensuring you have the biological foundation required to sustain the fight,” Hegseth said in the video.
He didn’t specify if female service members would also be screened and have access to TRT. The Pentagon told TIME that it had no additional information to provide beyond Hegseth’s video and a department statement containing similar information.

Why do I imagine those partiular doctors are the surviving ones from those whom the tobacco industry hired?
It’s probably more like 998 doctors said “This is a terrible idea” and two writing-their-own-prescriptions-Adderall-addicts said “What was the question again?” and since the response was not unanimous the “fair and balanced” article has to report that opinions are divided.
