Now this is classic Trump Competence™
Trump is trying to “put pressure” on law firms by issuing them subpoenas, and sit for depositions! “Oh no! He expects us to do that thing that we do every goddamned day of the year! ”
This is like punishing a quarterback by making him throw touchdown passes.
Now Kegsbreath is going to make every serviceman get testosterone levels checked and HRT if needed. What’s he trying to do- oust transitioning servicemen? Get only manly men in combat? Collect names and phone numbers of those who score really high so he can personally inspect their equipment?
Do you have a source for that? Just curious. Maybe I should stop being shocked at this administration.

Is he gonna have himself tested???
He’s posting about the “High-T Department of War.”
This man is the epitome of cringe.
How long until the U.S. Army is sponsored by Monster Energy Drink, and all military vehicles are required to have a Punisher sticker on their back window?
From the Paul Krugman column linked in your post:
Krugman has never posted a truer thing. (My bolding.)
I have doubts that Donald will announce in July that his personal militia (ICE) will be standing over ever voter who dares to go to the polls in November. That gives too much time for opposition.
He may announce some sort of “commission” that will “decide” whether or not armed ICE members will be standing over the polling machines, though. You know, after they carefully examine all the Evidence.
As for producing Evidence that he won in 2020:
I agree that he’d enjoy the flourish of pointing to a table piled with folders filled with blank paper, and claiming that the Evidence is RIGHT HERE! (There’s precedent.)
As to whether he has “evidence” that would actually be produced—with all the likelihood of being exposed as having been manufactured recently—I’m more skeptical. As far as Donald knows, his simply stating the claim while never, ever actually producing evidence has worked great . Why change it up?
Can things get any crazier?
Don’t answer.
Hegseth Plans to Screen All Troops, Including Women, for Low Testosterone
Pete Hegseth, as defense secretary, has sought to cultivate an image as a manosphere-friendly leader.
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/15/us/politics/hegseth-troops-testosterone.html?unlocked_article_code=1.yFA.mEeJ.FgOcZR4HeaVU&smid=url-share
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Wednesday a new mandatory screening program to test all service members age 30 and older, including women, for testosterone deficiency annually.
Hormone treatment for troops with low testosterone will be voluntary.
“Our most decisive tactical advantage will always be the individual warfighter,” Mr. Hegseth said in a video from his Pentagon office. “We have a sacred duty to maintain that advantage.”
The goal, he said in a social media message accompanying the video, was a “High-T Department of War,” Mr. Hegseth’s preferred name for the Defense Department.
Mr. Hegseth’s focus on testosterone levels at a moment when U.S. forces are ramping up attacks in Iran is unorthodox . Defense secretaries typically focus on larger strategic questions, involving alliances, war and weapons production.
…
My bold.
“Unorthodox”? Ya think? Why can’t they just come out and say “batshit crazy ”?
Hegseth has a deep obsession with all things manly, for certain.
Precious bodily fluids are next.
EDIT: They’ll have to start frequently appearing on horseback shirtless.
And soon after, taint and ballsack tanning.
The promotional trailer for Carlson's "The End of Men" special included a montage of shirtless men doing push ups, firing guns at bottles, milking a cow, wrestling, doing push-ups, lifting a tire, swinging an axe, and drinking eggs.

And now we know he’s deeply obsessed with other men’s balls.
I like this idea from Congressperson Alexandrai Ocasia-Cortez.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called on TV networks not to air “lies about our election” ahead of President Donald Trump’s prime-time address Thursday night, where he will reportedly speak about election security .
“I don’t think that we should be contributing to any platforming of lies about our election,” the New York representative and outspoken Trump critic told reporters Tuesday. “I think that we have an ethical obligation to not air things that undermine our election that are not rooted in evidence and fact.”
“So, you know, of course it depends on the contents of this speech, but that’s my take on it,” added the congresswoman, who has been discussed as a potential 2028 presidential candidate.
Evidently (I love that word and any word connected to evidence ) I’m not the only one who likes her idea. (The bolding is mine.)
Cable news networks and broadcast channels appear to be noncommittal on airing President Donald Trump’s forthcoming address on Thursday.
Trump announced on Truth Social that he would be making a primetime address to the nation at 9 p.m. Thursday, but did not give further details on the subject matter.
MS Now first reported that the president is planning to speak about voting machine security and announce apparent declassified intelligence reports that the White House claims reveal plans by other countries to interfere in the 2020 election.
Major broadcast networks, including ABC News, CBS News, and NBC News, as well as cable networks like Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC, have not responded to the Daily Beast’s repeated inquiries about their Thursday night programming.
Schedules for upcoming programming at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday also still show regularly scheduled programs, not the president’s address.
Ooh! Vance may have just figured out the toddler-in-chief cannot fire him.
The Trump administration “mishandled” the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, Vice President JD Vance said on a podcast episode released on Wednesday.
“If people want to say we mishandled the Epstein release, guilty,” Vance told podcaster Joe Rogan. “We did mishandle it, especially the communications of it.”
“I think we should have just dropped everything at the very beginning,” Vance added when asked what the administration should’ve done differently. “Obviously, it takes a little time to review the stuff, to find the stuff, to redact things where you have victims and so forth, but we should have just done it as quickly as possible.”
When asked for comment by The Independent , the White House declined to say if President Trump agrees with Vance.
Which is likely why he’s jonesing for Patel-esque transport bennies.
Vice President JD Vance sought last week to use a military helicopter to ferry himself and his son across Washington for a golf lesson, one of a number of allegedly unusual travel requests that has left the Republican’s security detail “fed up,” MS Now reports.
The alleged travel plans aboard Marine Two were ultimately canceled due to weather, but Secret Service agents nonetheless discussed it among themselves unhappily, according to the outlet.
The felon’s getting some new coin.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Wednesday released a rendering of a new coin featuring President Donald Trump, saying that the U.S. Mint will begin striking the $1 piece to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
“As America commemorates 250 years of independence, the [U.S. Mint] will begin striking this new $1 gold coin to honor the enduring legacy of liberty and a lasting symbol of patriotism,” Bessent wrote in a social media post. “Featuring President Trump, it celebrates the strength of American values, and the promise of a nation dedicated to preserving freedom for all.”
Which American values would those be? Perhaps committing adultery. Maybe toss in a dose of treason. And let’s not forget felony fraud.
The Big Bullshit Bill has a baby.
WASHINGTON (AP) — House Republicans on Wednesday unveiled a $95 billion legislative plan focused on boosting defense, aiding farmers and enacting stricter voter registration rules, a sequel to the massive tax and spending cut bill that President Donald Trump signed into law last year.
The 47-page outline, called a budget resolution, is a long-shot undertaking designed to supplement Pentagon funding for the Iran war and address Trump’s top priority of changing voter registration requirements . A more ambitious effort was narrowed to address concerns from some conservatives about adding to the deficit. The plan does not seek any offsets to pay for the new spending.
Beardo Vance weighs in on UFC insult to Michelle Obama.
Vice President JD Vance said in a podcast episode that aired Wednesday that the backlash to a UFC fighter’s false and offensive remark about former first lady Michelle Obama was “totally disproportionate” to the comment itself.
Speaking on “The Joe Rogan Experience” in an episode that taped Tuesday, Vance recalled attending his first live UFC event last month and was marveling at the submission holds. Rogan asked if Vance was more surprised by the so-called armbars or by fighter Josh Hokit referring to the former first lady as a man during his victory remarks at the White House.
“Definitely the armbar part,” Vance responded. “I work in politics. People say crazy stuff all the time, man.”
Rogan pushed back on the vice president, noting the context was different for an event hosted at the White House. He added that Hokit makes similar remarks as part of a persona he has cultivated.
“He’s a very good fighter, first of all, but sometimes it’s not enough to get attention,” Rogan said. “What Josh has done is created this persona, like this pro wrestling bad-guy persona.”
“Again, not the best thing to say at the White House. ‘Michelle Obama is a man’ is not the best thing to say,” he added.
“Fair,” Vance replied. “But the reaction to it to me was still totally disproportionate.” He later continued that “people lost their minds about it.”
And he still doesn’t get there’s a difference between doing something like that at the White House and doing it elsewhere.
He brought up comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who opened a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden in October 2024 with a set replete with racial tropes , including calling Puerto Rico a “floating pile of garbage.” At the time, even many Trump allies criticized the joke.
Vance said people had similarly overreacted to those remarks. “I’m like, ‘He told a joke,’ and the person’s response is, ‘Well, it’s not a very funny joke.’ And my response to that is, ‘You know, what happens when somebody tells me a joke that’s not funny? I don’t laugh, and then I move on with my life.’ This whole industry around outrage, especially getting outraged around humor, I think is actually really hurting the country.”
ICE called on undocumented workers repairing a woman’s home. Guess who called ICE before you read further.
In a video circling X, a woman is accused of calling U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on the men she allegedly hired to work on her home, leading to a heated confrontation captured on camera.
Woman in Lewiston, Maine hired illegal immigrants for a project then called ICE on them.

The video starts in the middle of the conflict already unfolding. The video shows workers on staffolding by the home, doing some sort of construction work. ICE officers are surrounding them on the ground. A large crowd has gathered around to watch the situation unfold.
It appears that many of the people in the crowd are trying to help the workers. One woman is telling them about immigrant rights organizations that can assist them in contacting their families, finding a lawyer, and working to get them out of ICE custody. One woman can be heard providing contact information for immigrant rights organizations.
I wouldn’t be surprised a whit if she hasn’t paid them yet.
Another day, another way to disregard the courts.
SEATTLE (AP) — President Donald Trump fired the new top U.S. prosecutor in Seattle on Wednesday less than an hour after the attorney was unanimously appointed by the federal judges in the district, highlighting tensions between the courts and the president over the powerful positions.
Roger Rogoff, a former judge and veteran state and federal prosecutor, was sworn in as U.S. attorney before 8 a.m. at the U.S. courthouse in downtown Seattle. In a phone interview, he said he then went to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and asked to meet with Charles Neil Floyd, whose 120-day interim term in the position ended in February.
As he waited in a lobby, Rogoff said, he received an email from the Trump administration informing him he’d been removed. He is consulting with other lawyers about suing over his firing, he said.
Presidents normally appoint U.S. attorneys, the top federal prosecutor in each judicial district. The positions require Senate confirmation, except in temporary appointments. When temporary appointments expire before a nominee is confirmed, the judges in a judicial district can name a U.S. attorney.
But under Trump, the Justice Department has sought to leave unconfirmed prosecutors in their positions indefinitely, often through novel personnel maneuvers.
Ask Jimmy Kimmel what Vance’s boss does when he hears a joke he doesn’t like.
Ash him, “Why did the guy think the ‘joke’ would be funny in the first place?” The problem isn’t that the joke isn’t funny, the problem is the mindset of the people who thought it would be funny .

Apparently, one of the pieces of “proof” Trump declassified today as proof that he won the 2020 election was that, in 2019, a demonstration at Defcon involved hacking a voting machine to play the classic 1993 video game Doom .
https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/the-doom-computer-game-was-part-of-trumps-wild-and-baseless-election-security-nightmare
The game where a portal to hell opened and spewed out demons? Hmm… that could explain Lauren Boebert.
