Pirro actually thinks Rip van Simple cares about evidence. (The bolding is mine.)
The top federal prosecutor in the nation’s capital carted a box full of evidence to the White House on Monday, in a bid to prove to President Trump that the damage to the Reflecting Pool was caused by shoddy construction and not by vandals, sources familiar with the matter told CBS News on Tuesday.
U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro, a staunch ally of the president, made the case in a sometimes heated private meeting in the Oval Office Monday, hours after Mr. Trump had publicly rebuked her for dropping criminal charges against Olympic canoeist David Hearn .
She was later photographed leaving the White House carting a large white box and other bags, which sources said contained all of the evidence collected from the Interior Department that exculpated Hearn and several others from criminal vandalism.
A spokesperson for Pirro’s office declined comment.
Mr. Trump earlier in the day had accused Pirro of folding “like an umbrella,” after her office on Friday filed a motion dismissing the felony case against Hearn.
And this is how the felon’s taking care of government business during a peace war. (The bolding is mine.)
As AMC celebrates a historic opening weekend, the White House is parodying the theater company’s iconic prescreening promo featuring Nicole Kidman .
On Aug. 3, the official White House social media accounts posted a one-minute-long video parodying AMC’s “We Make Movies Better” ad , which features Kidman and is played before a movie begins at the theater chain. Whereas AMC’s video promotes the magic of movie theaters, the White House’s video, which appears artificial intelligence-generated , promotes the determination of President Donald Trump ’s administration.
“We come to this place for MAGA, to fight, fight, fight and win, win, win because we need that, all of us,” the White House’s video begins, featuring a man wearing a Make America Great Again ballcap. In comparison to AMC’s, Kidman opens with, “We come to this place for magic. We come to AMC Theatres to laugh, to cry, to care because we need that, all of us.”
In addition to a similar script, the videos are visually similar. During her opening line, Kidman walks through a puddle of rain that reflects the AMC logo. In the White House’s video, a man wearing white sneakers walks through a similar puddle that instead reflects the White House.
Once again, the felon demonstrates artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.
The rubberband president is at it again.
A top US official said Tuesday that a deal with Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could be struck “today or tomorrow”, sending oil prices tumbling on hopes of increased shipments through the vital waterway.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told CNBC “there is a chance we may have a deal” in the coming hours, echoing President Donald Trump.
Speaking from the White House on Monday, Trump kept up his familiar combination of optimism for diplomacy and threats, warning that this was Iran’s “last chance before decapitation”.
Just for fun and the inspiration for the new moniker for the felon, you can check out the Spinners here on YouTube .
The judge is not mistaken here. (The bolding is mine; the sentiment is any right-thinking American patriot’s.)
A federal judge slammed the Justice Department as he “reluctantly” dismissed the seditious conspiracy case against leaders and members of the Oath Keepers in the final January 6 US Capitol riot case.
“This is the last of the prosecutions seeking to hold accountable those responsible for the events of January 6,” Judge Amit Mehta wrote in his order dismissing cases against nine people in which he recounted the events of that day. “That book is now closed.”
"Today’s epilogue diminishes the gravity of that day, denigrates the work of the prosecutors and law enforcement officers who secured these convictions, and excuses criminal acts that caused a centuries-long pillar of our democracy — the peaceful transfer of presidential power – to buckle ," Mehta wrote. “The court cannot write a different ending.”
The felon-in-chief now supports reparations. Guess for whom.
Reparations advocates say Trump’s remarks undermine the longstanding movement seeking redress for descendants of enslaved Black Americans.
While defending his administration’s now failed $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund, President Donald Trump said he is deserving of “reparations” and accused the former presidencies of Barack Obama and Joe Biden of being “corrupt.”
“They went after me. And what they did here was very, frankly, if you talk about reparations or if you talk about payment, what they did to me, I had a very good case against them,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday.
The twice impeached, convicted U.S. president decried the Justice Department’s rescission of the controversial anti-weaponization fund, created as a result of a settlement of Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS.
“These people were treated horribly, and this fund could have given them some solace,” said Trump.
President Zelenskyy says Russia is helping Iran. The felon says he’ll ask Putin if that’s true.
President Donald Trump cast doubt in recent days on allegations that Russia is helping Iran target U.S. forces, even as members of his own administration acknowledge Moscow and Beijing are supporting Tehran in other ways.
Trump dismissed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s claim that Russia supplied Iran with satellite imagery of U.S. military installations in the Gulf, saying any assistance would have been “very unimpactful” given the damage inflicted on Iran’s military.
“We’ll find out if that’s true. I’ll ask Putin. We’ll find out,” Trump told reporters at the end of July.
Not even cartoon characters are that stupid.
Rip van Simple loses another battle in the war on elections.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Missouri’s top election official has rejected a citizens’ petition seeking a statewide referendum on new congressional districts backed by President Donald Trump.
Supporters of the referendum had submitted hundreds of thousands of petition signatures in a bid to force a November election on a new U.S. House map approved by the Republican-led state Legislature. But Republican Secretary of State Denny Hoskins asserted Tuesday that the petition is void because congressional redistricting plans cannot be subject to voter referendums.
The number of petition signatures submitted doesn’t matter, Hoskins said, because “challenging a congressional map is unconstitutional under Missouri law.”
Killer Kennedy is now a K Gourmet Chef!
It’s hard to keep up with the shape-shifting forms of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Half Democrat, half Trump ally. Half environmental lawyer, half New Age health guru. Here’s a politician with a dead worm in his brain and a dead bear in his car.
Trump’s secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services is a strange fish. So it’s no surprise to find him cooking fish, strangely, in a new video series funded by your tax dollars.
Some people have called “The Real Food Show ,” which premiered July 30 on YouTube and the HHS website, a cooking show. But Kennedy does far less food prep for it than your regular hosts of NBC’s “Today” show do for theirs.
&
We could count the ways that this “cooking show” is a waste of the public’s time and money. Never mind the talk about substituting salmon for abalone or adding nutritional yeast to your salmon cakes.
This is plainly not a video series to help struggling Americans prepare healthy and affordable meals for their family.
The videos that were formerly recorded to do that were funded by the federal government and produced by expert partners. They were part of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education , or SNAP-Ed, and made for the lower-income families who receive the assistance popularly known as food stamps.
Mind you, this is all on the taxpayers’ dime.
Arc de merde is illegally (legally?) tacky.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump’s proposed 250-foot-tall (76-meter) memorial arch could disrupt the historical significance of dozens of sites near its planned location, according to an assessment by the National Park Service.
Many of Washington’s monuments, buildings and sites have been carefully planned over decades to reflect significant moments in the nation’s history and evoke symbolism in being connected by sightline to other sites.
The proposed towering gilded arch, which last month received initial approval from a key federal commission , would impact the “integrity” of dozens of those historical properties because it would change “character-defining visual and spatial relationships” between them.
But will it then catch fire and sink into the swamp?

I don’t think he lost that one. At least not yet. The Missouri SoS rejected an initiative† to undo a Republican gerrymander. They’ll have to go to court to get it on the ballot.
†There’s a difference between a referendum and initiative. If it’s coming from the legislature, it’s a referendum; from the people, it’s an initiative.

This is about Pirro leaving the white house with a “large white box and other bags”.
The alarm bells and klaxons are screaming while red and blue lights are flashing.
That that moron can ever touch a piece of sensitive information should be a warning to us all. Is she gonna store that evidence in her bathroom?

So, if I’m reading the article correctly, the White House lawn is on a slope, and the helipad was not flush with the slope, since the contractors were presumably building it to be perfectly level, which is something you probably really, really want in a freakin’ helipad.
But trump didn’t like the way it looked, so he’s ordering it to be rebuilt to be flush with the slope? So you have a slanty helipad? That sounds like a great idea
You are not seeing the genius. Not only will the helipad be flush with the grass, for obvious aesthetic reasons, but the undercarriage of Marine One will need (ahem) “lifts” to ensure one set of undercarriage is a little longer than the other for stable landings on a slanted surface.
Landings elsewhere? Well, Mar-a-Lago could easily add a fifteen to twenty degree slope to their own helipad.
Both will, of course, require extensive and expensive modifications, courtesy of the US taxpayer.

And let’s not forget that the rationale for having this monstrosity, which requires tearing up, rooting out, paving over grass is to, get this, protect that very same grass .

Thanks for the explanation, though I have to admit I’m still not seeing the genius. But it’s probably just me. I’m not even good at 3D chess.
‘1984’-style oxymoronic slogans keep coming to mind whenever I read about trump admin clusterfucks and boondoggles. In this instance:
DESTRUCTION IS PROGRESS
In that sense, the trump admin has been very progressive.
“We had to destroy the lawn in order to save it.”
There’s nothing like the oldies.
No, it’s actually the opposite. A helipad needs a slight slope, to drain rainwater. He didn’t loke the look of that.

Ah, interesting, thanks.
In any case, the outcome is the same-- trump demands that his particular aesthetic sensibilities override common sense and functionality.
I haven’t eaten abalone in over fifty years. It’s hard to find and when it it is it is at insanely high prices due to overfishing (well, collecting) decades ago. Even with that dim memory, except for being aquatic, salmon isn’t anything like abalone.

Seriously. Abalone is more like clams. The Sardine Factory restaurant in Monterey (CA) had cream of abalone soup that was delicious, but I last had it over forty years ago. Don’t know if they still have it.
ETA: They still have the Abalone Bisque on the menu. $18 for a cup. $21 for a bowl.

Does “momentary loss of separation” mean they collided? Is that a technical aviation term? Sort of like what I think a ‘near miss’ should really mean?
“and that the president was not in any danger.”
Well, thank god the president was not in any danger. We’ll just say “Fuck you” to all the people on the plane.
And abalone medallions – number not disclosed – for Market price. IOW, “If you have to ask…”
I would guess the two spots merged on the radar displays.
Must be those DEI pilots eh trupo?
Not necessarily. It means that, for a brief time, the two aircraft were closer together than the minimum distance specified by operating rules. Certainly, if two aircraft collided, they would absolutely have had “loss of separation,” but that doesn’t appear to be what happened here.
