To be fair, if I had married either of those two I would chose to live as far away from him or her as possible. That may be the only thing I have in common with them and the only point I believe they are behaving rationally.
But I probably, given the chance, would not have married either.

Eh. Lots of people experience their skin getting thinner as they age - and that SOB’s skin has always been super thin from the start - so I wouldn’t take too much from this and similar pictures. Not like the ones that show the bruising on his hands, at any rate.

I have no doubt that he sees it the other way: he’s trying to make it an impregnable bunker, more impregnable than any other tinpot dictator in the world has. Thus, he can feel both superior, and safe.
An impregnable above ground bunker? Don’t think there is one. No matter the quality of the marble.
AIUI, the plans include not only the above-ground ballroom, but a multi-level underground bunker beneath it (though it’s hard to say for sure, because details on the plans are sketchy).
Regardless, I didn’t say it was a good idea. 
If the WH gets bombed out, he’ll just have to rebuild it, right? A golden opportunity for a fresh start.
In today’s non-surprising news, Trump has decided to alter his libel lawsuit against the BBC, and remove any reference to how they might have harmed his business.
The reason? The BBC’s defense team was about to get their hands on the entirety of Trump’s financial records.

He will be well below the ground. And of course he doesn’t give two shits about the poor schmucks on the roof or in the building. In fact, the entire city of Washington could get nuked, killing hundreds of thousands, and as long as he’s able to poke his badly-coiffed head out of the bunker afterwards, he’d consider it a win.

There is/was already a bunker underneath the East Wing; famously, that’s where Dick Cheney was taken, by the Secret Service, during 9/11. Trump briefly took refuge there in 2020, during the George Floyd protests in Lafayette Square.
However, I have no idea how deep it is.

After all it’s only right and proper that the king dictates where tax money is spent. He would consider it his entitlement. His entire life has been a long term grift facilitated by alternating between con artist games, manipulation and pure bullying. It’s long been established that he harbors deep seated insecurities and self-esteem issues stemming from the fact that high society in NYC never really accepted him. When he was elected president in 2016 he probably saw it as vindication for all the narcissism and hubris he had exercised his entire life. He’d finally arrived. Here are his spoils.
I have to say: all this talk of trump “making the WH a military target” is silly. The WH has been a target since mechanized warfare started. Of course, in the nuclear era, everything in DC was subject to be bombed. Flight 93 was most likely targeted at the WH.
Okay, but it’s still stupid to put a drone port up there. From a strategic point of view, you want your targets to be spread around. If you put all your weapons in one place, the enemy (whoever that turns out to be) can take them all out with a single strike.
What is the tactical mission of a drone port, anyway? I get that it’s a place to launch drones from, but what kind of drones, and what kind of targets are they meant to be launched at? If they’re offensive weapons, some enemy is going to have to get pretty close to D.C. for us to launch drones at them. If they’re defensive, how exactly do they work?
I think Trump heard of drones being a hot, new buzzword in warfare (probably because they’re being used in Ukraine) and thought “ooh, I gotta get me some of that.”
I have been told by someone from New York and have read that Trump was a big time social climber. He felt that he deserved to be in the highest society in New York City, but that they perceived him to be a buffoon and did not accept him. He was not get invited to the upper crust functions and dinners and he felt it as an intentional slight.
Supposedly, he ran for the Presidency to force them to accept him as being at their level. However, his actions as President has to have drawn a bigger wedge between them than there ever was before.
The one who had the best chance to reaching those circles was likely Ivanka. She was witty and considerate and poised – attributes that Trump never had. It seems likely that Trump’s first term probably ended any chance of that happening. I have wondered if perhaps that is why Ivanka has not become a part of this administration.
Trump as a hopeless Social Climber seems to explain much of his behavior.
