Merrick Garland is a Democrat, and it’s a major goal of the Democrats to shield and pander to the Republicans. Has been for decades; I recall how when Obama took office one of his first moves was to forbid all further investigation into Bush’s involvement with torture.
The Democrats were never going to permit Trump to be punished. Not unless he switched parties at least. As long as Trump has an R next to his name he’s above the law.
Trump rebrands Congressionally-approved troop housing subsidy as ‘warrior dividend’ bonus
More than $2.9 billion in reconciliation funds was allocated to beef up troop housing allowances. Now it’s being used for $1,776 checks.
The GOP can take credit in the entirely Democratic shutdown. “warrior dividend”, huh?
Nobody till at least after next years election can announce running for something / dissing or even trying to put space between themselves and trump. And Vance/Hegseth/Rubio will only announce when trump allows them.
As a “student of History” he claims to be, I’d like to hear him summarize 1776. Signing of the DoI doesn’t count. Name one thing that occurred before 1776. Name the King it was sent to.
I reckon LGA (LaGuardia), IDW (Idlewild to someday be JFK), and MacCarhur (ISP - dunno why MAC must have been taken) would all be loyalists. Yet the infamous battle to take BOS (Boston Logan) has gone down in history.
My favorite real story is of Colonel Henry Knox, a young, self-taught artillery officer. In 1775, he and his crew hauled major BRITISH Artillery 300 miles from the abandoned Fort Ticonderoga (New York), crossing many frozen / half frozen streams all the way to Dorchester Heights above Boston. He was blowing them away. And their ships.
British General William Howe decided Halifax was a more welcoming place than being bombarded by your own artillery and fled.
Just want to emphasize: 1775. The colonialists were at war with the British. The big thing about the Declaration of Independence is people putting their name on the document - which would be sedition and punishable by death. Oddly, there was room left for John Hancock to sign the DoI on July 6th.
