The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues (Part 2)

Maybe he envisions himself joining her?

That song is beautiful but as with anything Canadian, far more polite than it needs to be. I want some Canadian diss tracks that rival anything Iran has put out. I want Canadian rappers to rip Trump’s balls off (metaphorically speaking of course) in a style somewhere between Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline” and the Insane Clown Posse’s “Nuttin’ But a Bitch Thing”. Were I more of a wordsmith, I’d write it myself.

I am waiting for the “overwhelming public” to wake the fuck up and stop voting MAGA into office. Or at least for the Republicans who can’t bring themselves to vote for anything other than MAGA to stay the fuck home so the adults can start cleaning up this goddamned mess.

TACO Trail?

All good choices!

Evidently the felon’s flacks did notsee it coming.

Are you sure about this? Why would they? No private company is obligated to call it this. Google Maps et al. have chosen to do this (actually, they have both names), to conform to their policy to use US government official names whenever possible, but there’s nothing “natural” about anyone doing this, other than government entities who are forced to pretend in written documents.

“Natural” is the last word I would use for making such an artificial change in a company’s (or a household’s) day-to-day operations, interpersonal communications, and anything written.

I don’t know a soul who calls it anything but the Gulf Mexico, in professional and informal contexts alike.

Oops! Double post.

See also their previous comparisons of Trump to Darth Vader and Thanos.

Why would oil and gas companies, whose leadership and ownership are largely extremely conservative/anti-regulation, go along with with a President who caters to their interests and who is amenable to open corruption?

Geez, I have no idea why. That really is a stumper

I’m okay with literally, as well.

They’re waiting on delivery of the teeny tiny tweezers.

I think this possibly reflects dwindling numbers in the Republican Party overall, only a little over a quarter of US voters nowadays.

The sane Republicans have all gone Dem or Independent, so a higher percentage of those remaining are Trump worshippers.

Abraham Lincoln would not recognize the GOP. By today’s standards, ol’ Abe would practically be a Progressive. And MAGA would decry the mid-19th century Republican Party as “Woke”. (Actually, it kind of was, but in a good way.)

Plus, Lincoln isn’t all that popular in the bright red south. If Lincoln was reborn, he’d be a Democrat and they know it. They’d hate him.

How can a president with zero accomplishments be the best evah? Is ethnic cleansing an accomplishment?

How about destroying the economy, and our reputation around the world those are surely some sort of accomplishments.

He made it ok to be openly racist again. They absolutely love that he did that

Trump’s national guard, unnecessarily patrolling Memphis, claim to have shot this guy in the chest, killing him. In proud Trump tradition, they are fucking lying!
Guess where they shot him? I’ll give you one hint, the lying bastards shot him in the back.
It seems as though these trigger happy thugs are too fucking dumb to know that an autopsy will totally reveal an entry wound vs. an exit wound.

Well, the exit wound is probably in the chest, so technically he was shot there as well.

Agreed. Not to put too fine a point on it, but it’s important to remember, whenever the subject of Abraham Lincoln or political history in the United States come up, that the Republican party that ran in the 1860 presidential election was newly established as a northern based abolitionist party to counteract the well established pro-slavery Democrats in the south. After the civil war, during Reconstruction and for much of the 20th century, there were sliding allegiances on both sides as political tides realigned as to allow for political, social, and cultural ideas that were somewhat divorced from the names of the actual parties. There were well recognized and important blocs of “Conservative Democrats” and “Liberal Republicans” up until I would say the 70s or '80s. Democrats in the South began aligning themselves to a degree with the Civil Rights movements of the 40s 50s and 60s that ultimately culminated in LBJ signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Nixon and the Republicans in the early 70s countered with the “Southern Strategy” when they saw that white supremacists and racists in the south were left without a political home and were easy pickings for political power. Reagan in the late '70s and into the '80s calcified the conservative right by aligning themselves with conservative Christians and evangelicals. This is the beginnings of MAGA right here. I don’t necessarily blame Nixon or Reagan for Trump, but it’s pretty indisputable that they laid the foundations that allowed this problem to fester. (ETA: I recognize that there are those who would directly blame them for the rise of MAGA and that viewpoint is not without merit.)

The Republican party of 1860 and the Republican party of 2026 have absolutely nothing at all in common and it is only an accident of history that Lincoln can technically be called “The First Republican President.” It’s a completely meaningless statement.

If Lincoln had grown up in the 20th century instead of the 19th century, and allowing for differences in the cultural environment, he almost certainly would be a left-leading Democrat of some description today. He would not be a Republican.

This, of course, is extremely simplified but I think the broad strokes are accurate.

What form of “woke” is not good?

The kind the republicans hallucinate about: Ferinstance trans for everyone, sharia law, repressed and replaced white people, etc. etc. etc.
