Donald Trump orders Secret Service agents hot dogs while they follow him around his D.C.-area golf course—only to then bill the agency tasked with protecting the president.
“He has this weird, very odd pride about how good the hot dogs are,” a former club employee told the publication. “The chef has to be out there. And he’s like, ‘Chef, get everyone a hot dog—all these guys.’”

The felon’s all in for the Chinese.
President Trump said Friday he would permit Chinese automakers to move manufacturing to the U.S. over the protest of American automakers.
“If China wanted to come in and open a plant to build their cars here, I’d be OK with it,” the president told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham on “The Ingraham Angle.”
“Japan does it, but they hire our people,” he continued. “The big thing is they hire our people.”
The president’s comment comes ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Washington, D.C., in two weeks. The Chinese leader is expected to bring a large business delegation with him during this visit, Reuters reported .
Trump touted his “very good relationship” with Jinping ahead of this bilateral summit, telling Ingraham the meeting will “be interesting.”
So, yes; something’s dribbling down his chins.
The dysadministration is sued to stop it acting like North Korea. (The bolding is mine.)
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin has been sued in a bid to block armed federal immigration agents from polling sites during November’s midterm elections.
Mullin said last week that armed Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers would be authorized to conduct enforcement operations at polling places, including serving warrants and detaining individuals suspected of being in the U.S. illegally.
But according to the suit —which was filed Thursday in federal court by a coalition of voter advocacy groups and the city of Denver, Colorado—the law prohibits federal officials from ordering or placing “any troops or armed men at any place where a general or special election is held,” unless they’re “necessary to repel armed enemies of the United States.”
War starter thinks he can settle a war…this time in the Falklands.
US President Donald Trump has said he could “settle” any conflict over the Falkland Islands, describing a war between the UK and Argentina as a “potential disaster.”
The US president has previously indicated he might not back the UK’s sovereignty over the Falklands if Argentina launched an attack, and again waded into the dispute during a visit to Dublin on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters while sitting with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, Trump suggested the UK would not “be willing to travel that far” if Argentina invaded the Falklands as it did in 1982, adding it would be “weeks by boat.”
He said: "I’m not sure they’re doing that. They have a little problem with immigration.
“They have a little problem with energy, and then have some other problems they have to take care of.”
He added: “I’m sure I’ll be called into that potential disaster, but if they do, I’ll probably be able to settle, settle it out.”
War criminal Hegseth skips confab to protect civilians from war crimes.
Three years ago, the Defense Department led an ambitious international effort to better protect civilians during combat, a movement built on the bloody lessons of Afghanistan and Iraq.
The Pentagon created a network with European partners, driving the creation of shared standards. Civilian harm experts described the moment as a “unique opportunity” for American leadership by example.
Today, those efforts continue — without the United States, after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth dismantled the civilian protection mission.
And Thursday, no U.S. delegation will be in the room when the international forum the U.S. cofounded meets at NATO headquarters in Belgium.
The country’s absence from the International Contact Group on Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response summit reinforces the abandonment of a mission the Pentagon had encouraged partners to embrace, said current and former officials. Most spoke to ProPublica on condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation from President Donald Trump’s administration.
They called the step back “humiliating” and “dangerous,” pointing to reports of rising civilian casualties in Iran following strikes on schools and homes.
Rip van Dribble thinks he knows why the seats are empty. (The formatting is from the linked article.)
President Donald Trump took the stage at Dallas’s American Airlines Center this week and soon after confronted an issue that has trailed him in recent years: crowd size. Rather than ignore the visibly empty rows in the arena’s upper tiers, the president preemptively blamed them on bathroom breaks.
Trump opened his keynote address at the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention by praising the turnout, calling the venue “packed” and claiming an equal number of supporters stood outside unable to get in. The two-day gathering was an unusual experiment for the party, which typically holds no convention during a midterm year.
Organizers had distributed tickets through multiple channels, from premium packages to free seats handed out to Dallas-area residents. Even so, while the floor and lower bowl filled up, several upper-level sections remained noticeably thin, with whole rows sitting empty.
The president anticipated the criticism before it was made. He told the crowd that reporters would inevitably spot an attendee walking away and photograph the vacant seat left behind. “The fake news will go around and see that man up there? He’s leaving for the bathroom. He’ll be back in two minutes,” Trump said. “They’ll take a picture of his seat while he’s gone. And they’ll say, ‘Trump did not fill up the arena. The arena was not filled. Look at the seat.’”
I wonder what the likelihood the entire section had to go to the loo was.
Just in case you thought we still had an ally the felon hasn’t absolutely offended.
Donald Trump used his visit to Ireland to fan the flames of a decades-long conflict that found an uneasy truce in a 1998 peace deal.
Speaking at a press conference in Dublin, Ireland, the 80-year-old president on Saturday said the Republic of Ireland should be reunified with the United Kingdom’s Northern Ireland.
“Well, I don’t want to cause any problems, but I will tell you I’d love to see it unified. I think it would be a great feather in everybody’s cap if that happened. It’s going to happen eventually,” Trump said, responding to a question from a reporter.
He then said he and Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Micheál Martin, who was sitting beside him, were actively talking about it, and described Martin as “the right man over here to get it moving.”
And here’s the reaction in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The comments caused a flurry of pushback in the United Kingdom from all sides of politics.
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said earlier in the week that there was no clear consensus on a reunification poll.
He did not comment directly on Trump’s thought bubble. A spokesman for the PM referred the media to his earlier statement.
But UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch jumped on X to respond, accusing Trump of “shooting from the hip as usual.”
“This sort of loose talk about the future of democratic countries is deeply unhelpful and creates unnecessary tension,” she said.
“Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. At a time when separatists are in power in Scotland, Wales and NI, we need a Government that will defend the Union clearly and confidently.”
Northern Ireland’s political leaders were equally unimpressed.
“Northern Ireland not a pawn in Trump’s fall out with the UK. Our constitutional future does not depend on him or any other foreign dignitary,” Traditional Unionist Voice party leader Jim Allister said on X.
Ulster Unionist Party leader Jon Burrows said "the only people whose decision counts are the people of Northern Ireland.
“When all is said and done, Northern Ireland’s future will be decided by the people of Northern Ireland. I am confident that we are safer, more secure and more prosperous within the United Kingdom, and that is where we will remain,” he posted to X.
Court rules the felon broke the law when firing FEMA personnel.
Sept 12 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge has ruled that the Trump administration broke the law by ordering the Federal Emergency Management Agency to cut its workforce in half.
U.S. District Judge Susan Illston in San Francisco in a decision issued late Friday, said the U.S. Department of Homeland Security acted unlawfully by usurping FEMA’s authority over its own personnel and steering the agency to cut thousands of disaster-response jobs.
While FEMA is part of DHS, a federal law adopted after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 says the department “may not substantially or significantly reduce [FEMA’s] authorities, responsibilities, or functions.”
Agreeing with unions that sued, Illston said the department violated the law when it moved last year to stop FEMA from renewing the temporary contracts of thousands of on-call reservists who respond to disasters.
“There is no evidence in the record reflecting reasoned decision-making for this about-face or for the subsequent conditions DHS placed on FEMA’s renewal authority,” Illston wrote.
Friday’s ruling did not include remedies or penalties. Illston, an appointee of President Bill Clinton, wrote those would be addressed in a separate ruling next month and said the parties may submit briefings on the scope of relief she should provide to the unions.
And finally, a former judge, a conservative, warns about a repetition of January 6, 2021 .
A former conservative federal judge has sounded the alarm on the possibility of Republicans carrying out “another Jan. 6” after the midterm elections.
Judge J. Michael Luttig, who was nominated by former President George H. W. Bush to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, tore into the GOP and President Donald Trump in a scathing op-ed for The New Republic warning of “The Final Battle for America’s Democracy.”
Luttig, 72, said a “catastrophic end” for American democracy could come on Jan. 3, 2027—the start of a brand new House.
“Today’s congressional Republicans took a blood oath six years ago not just to put their party before their country, but to put Donald Trump before their country,” he wrote. “And so it is that only weeks before the midterm elections, House Republicans have already sworn their allegiance to Donald Trump and doomed the U.S. to another Jan. 6 next Jan. 3.”
“So unalterably subjugated to Trump is today’s Republican House that even a decisive victory for Democrats and a resounding repudiation of Trump and the MAGA Republicans at the polls in November will not guarantee that a Democratic majority-elect will be seated in the 120th Congress on Jan. 3,” he continued.
Luttig predicted that congressional Republicans would refuse to seat Democratic members-elect, triggering a legal battle that could reach the Supreme Court.
I really wish I could say he’s wrong.
“If China wanted to come in and open a plant to build their cars here, I’d be OK with it,” the president told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham on “The Ingraham Angle.”
“Japan does it, but they hire our people,” he continued. “The big thing is they hire our people.”
Great, so Trump is going to do to America for Chinese business what American business did to China for American business.
Look forward to those low paying jobs making cheap consumer goods for markets that are not America coming soon.

From the Trumpapalooza convention tonight:
“If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate…I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000.”
@thebulwark.com on Bluesky
That works out to $1.29 trillion dollars.
The obvious way to save money - assuming any is paid out at all (have you gotten your tariff dividend yet? Me either.) - is to re-define “citizen” and/or question the citizenship of people.
Am I the only person who thought of this?

Yeah, the even more obvious way to save money if you’re trump, is to say you’re going to pay out X amount if Y happens, then just don’t follow through.

Reality check: Argentina’s armed forces are in no shape to invade a rough Buenos Aires district, they lack the logistical, air power and navy assets to even think about invading the Falklands.
Of course Trump seems to have a restraining order about getting too close to reality.

In the first post , Trump wrote that he is asking the Smithsonian to “install a 30-foot Washington Colossus” where “Infinity,” a historic abstract sculpture, has long stood outside of the museum, overlooking the National Mall.
Trump also had an abstract sculpture outside the Kennedy Center demolished. He doesn’t have the brain power to understand/appreciate nonrepresentative art.

I know all US coins say, “In God We Trust”, but its size and placement right next to Trumps face on that abominable coin just screams “Blasphemy” to me. Doubly so since the coin is gold. I don’t believe in “the antichrist” but Trump completely embodies anti Christian values. Unless we’re talking about Evangelical Christians, then he’s right in line with them.

He DOES have the brain power to understand how MAGA reacts to names: the name of the “Infinity” artist is Jose de Rivera. The name of the Kennedy Center sculpture (“Blue”) artist is Joel Shapiro.
