President Donald Trump has alleged that a “Democrat Plot” was behind the 2024 assassination attempt against him and claimed newly discovered information shows key evidence was missing, altered or corrupted.
“Everybody knows the Crooked Joe Biden FBI didn’t do what they should have with respect to the Lunatic who shot me in Butler, PA. By the time I got into Office, on January 20th, most of the information was missing, altered, corrupted, or gone,” Trump posted Tuesday on Truth Social.
The president continued: “New info was just found! Why wasn’t it seen long ago? This was all a Democrat Plot, to get me out of the Election, that failed. Dirty Cop Christopher Wray should pay a price for the way he handled this assassination attempt, and certainly for the things he said.”
There is no evidence that Democrats were involved in the attempted assassination of Trump at a campaign rally on July 13, 2024. After a extensive investigation, the FBI concluded last year that gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks acted alone.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump-aligned Kennedy Center board voted Tuesday to close most of the iconic performing arts venue just hours after a federal judge blocked the institution from returning President Donald Trump’s name to the building.
In a social media post, Trump said the closure was needed for safety repairs . But he said the repairs, which Congress has allocated $257 million to cover, would only happen if the board was allowed to move forward with plans to add his name to the building. A federal judge has twice said that can’t happen without the approval of Congress.
“Simply put, Defendants cannot install memorials for President Trump or anyone or anything else at the Kennedy Center without Congress’s blessing," U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper said in the latest ruling Tuesday.

Hanging over the hearing was the prospect that the administration may seek to demolish the Kennedy Center. In a filing last month, administration lawyers told the court that absent recognition of the president, the Kennedy Center would struggle to raise money for renovations. Without that money, they suggested, the building may need to be demolished, a prospect that alarmed some given Trump’s swift moves last year to dismantle the East Wing.

Donald Trump broke his silence on Sunday, Sept. 13, after Lindsay Clancy ’s attorney publicly pleaded with him to intervene in her case, including asking for a pardon the president has no authority to give in the state prosecution.
Clancy’s defense attorney Kevin Reddington appeared on Good Morning America declared a mistrial , and directly appealed to Trump, 80.
“Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider this young lady the type of person she is, what she’s been through and consider a pardon,” Reddington said of his client, who fatally strangled her three young children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan — in 2023.
A presidential pardon — a constitutional authority Trump has used with frequency in his second term — was never in play because presidents can offer clemency only for federal offenses, and Clancy was prosecuted under Massachusetts state law.
Trump acknowledged this reality in remarks to reporters before leaving Ireland on Sunday after attending the Irish Open at one of his golf courses.
“It’s a very sad situation. I, I certainly heard that. But, look — it’s a very sad, there is no winner there,” Trump said.

WASHINGTON – An anti-war Republican congressman introduced articles of impeachment on Sept. 15 against Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth over the Iran war , potentially causing a political headache for GOP leaders in Congress two months before the midterms.
Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, a noted political foe of President Donald Trump , launched the longshot effort to remove Hegseth with a speech on the House floor. He accused Hegseth, a former Fox News host, of betraying his oath of office and abusing his powers as a military leader.
Primarily, he accused Hegseth of violating the Constitution by continuing to oversee military operations in the Iran war without congressional approval.
“This abuse of office frustrated Congress’ ability to exercise its most solemn constitutional responsibility,” Massie said.

Two U.S. government personnel were mistakenly shot by military forces in the African nation of Eswatini last week, according to the country’s government.
They were shot late Friday in a rural northeastern region as the Eswatini army conducted an anti-smuggling operation, Eswatini’s government said in a news release late Monday.
Speaking to The Associated Press on Tuesday, Eswatini government spokesperson Thabile Mdluli said the Americans suffered “minor injuries” and an inquiry is underway.

Pennsylvania has confirmed its fourth death linked to the ongoing measles outbreak.
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the Pennsylvania Department of Health announced that the latest two individuals to die from measles were unvaccinated . They were residents of Jefferson County and Mifflin County.
The Mifflin County Coroner’s Office later revealed in a press release that the individual was an 18-year-old who died “due to complications of measles.” Specifically, the coroner noted that teen’s cause of death was acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, a rare and severe neurological complication of measles that causes inflammation in the brain.

Measles cases in the U.S. have hit a 35-year high, with more than 3,200 cases reported across 47 states, as vaccination coverage drops well below levels that would help halt the spread of the virus.

Florida mosquito-control agencies are stepping up surveillance, inspections and spraying, as officials expect the number of locally acquired dengue fever cases in Tampa Bay and across the state to rise in the coming weeks.
As of Sept. 1, the number of dengue fever cases originating in Florida this year had climbed to 33 in Tampa Bay and 41 statewide. Cases are predicted to increase, Fox 13 Tampa Bay reported.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has “lost count” of how many pregnant women and teenagers in detention centers have suffered miscarriages under its care, a new report claimed Tuesday, after civil rights agencies sounded the alarm on pregnant detainees being denied prenatal care while in custody.

Americans are more confident that ballots, once cast, will be counted accurately, though their trust in that varies depending on their political affiliation — with 63% of Democrats, 58% of Republicans and 49% of independent voters saying they are either “somewhat” or “very” confident in an accurate count, the Center for Transparent and Trusted Elections at UC San Diego poll found.

When Donald Trump announced in February 2025 that the US would accept Afrikaners from South Africa as refugees, many white South Africans who believed that they were victims of racism in their country thought that their prayers had been answered.
However, in the past few months, dozens of applicants to the refugee programme have been rejected, with many left dismayed and confused as to why they would be left to face what Trump has falsely claimed is a “white genocide” in South Africa.
After Trump’s February 2025 executive order announcing the resettlement programme, which was expanded to include members of a “racial minority”, the first group of 68 white South Africans arrived in the US that May. The US also shut down the refugee programme for anyone else fleeing war and persecution.
