@Spoons Do you remember when we used to hide the elderly people who wold say such stupid nonsense as the felon does? What we have here is a day-by-day, nay, moment-by-moment object example of why that was done: to keep them out of trouble.
Yes, I remember. I’ve had a couple of elderly relatives who suffered such. We did as much as we could, humoring them (“Oh, really? Isn’t that something!”) but otherwise ignoring their silly claims and pronouncements.
And when things got too far gone, they went off to homes. Very nice homes, I should add, and we visited as often as we could, but neither we nor the homes’ staff believed much of what they said.
But they didn’t have a cult of believers behind them, no matter how bizarre their utterings, nor did they have the attention of the world. Perhaps if everybody humored him (“Yes, Mr. Trump, the rest of the world will pay the United States”), then ignored him, the world might be better off.
