Thanks. “Pedo” is short and I can definitely make that large enough to be legible. Good idea. I thought of “moron,” but it sounded too much like the name calling that he indulges in himself. Since the topic of signs has been raised, I just wanna share this: I passed a freeway overpass on which someone had hung a large (like, 50’ long) sign reading: MAGA YOUR DADDY IS A WHINY BITCH.

It’s this. Trump has repeatedly shown that he just doesn’t understand the true scale of the US. He thinks a billion dollars is a lot of money, and just doesn’t grasp that the US government and economy runs on trillions.
Putin isn’t going to rely on a promise of some future event. Trump had to agree to lift economic sanctions on Russia for six months in exchange for less than a day’s worth of oil.

Putin doesn’t have to rely on any future event. This “deal” makes things more uncertain for Ukraine reinforcing the truth that the United States is an unreliable ally at best. He’s getting more than just some sanctions lifted for a while…assuming Congress doesn’t do something about it. Though I don’t expect Congress to do anything about Trump at this point.

Omar, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, said she was being targeted as one of the Republican’s “political enemies.”

A federal judge berated the Department of Justice and Donald Trump’s administration for failing to give adequate notice about plans to remove hundreds of trees from the East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, D.C., the president’s latest target for his capital-wide makeover projects.
For more than 15 minutes during Monday’s emergency hearing, a furious District Judge Ana C. Reyes yelled at government attorneys for failing to alert the court and preservation groups about imminent plans to raze the public golf course , where more than 400 trees were knocked down over the weekend.
The government announced plans to begin clearing trees on Friday night. Workers and tractors were seen pulling down healthy trees early the next morning, including mature oak and maple trees, according to the plaintiffs.
“What has happened has cost the government all its credibility in this case,” Reyes said Monday.
“Why did we not find out about it until 4:55 on Friday?” she asked. “I don’t care about the details. … Do you have email? Do you have a cell phone? Do you have a regular phone? … Do you have the ability to get into a car and get places to tell them? Was there any way preventing you in some way shape or form from telling plaintiff’s counsel and this court?”
Reyes said she is at a “total loss to understand what has happened here.”
She suggested the government may have “intended to do precisely what it has done” and “intentionally” implement a plan to raze the golf course without enough time for the courts to intervene.
“What universe did anyone in your office think that was acceptable?” Reyes asked.
A government lawyer began to say “we did our best” before Reyes cut her off.
“You did not do your best!” Reyes fired back. “You did your absolute worst!”
The judge has temporarily blocked the government from making any other changes to the golf course, and “if that order is violated by two seconds, there are going to be contempt proceedings,” she said.

Archbishop for the Military Services, USA says Catholics should not participate in the firing squad.
WASHINGTON, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Catholics serving in the US Army should not participate in the firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan that the Pentagon is planning to livestream in December, a prominent US archbishop said on Monday.
In an unusually strongly worded statement, Archbishop Timothy Broglio, who oversees the spiritual care of Catholic members of the US armed forces, raised a series of objections to the unprecedented plan to broadcast the execution of Hasan, who killed 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, in a 2009 shooting spree.
Broglio said he presided at the funeral of one of Hasan’s victims, and lamented the shooting. But the Ohio-born archbishop asked whether the US wanted to “imitate the terrorists of this world and make a public spectacle of barbarically killing our adversaries.”
“I oblige any Catholics assigned to the firing squad to request to be excused from this action contrary to the teaching of the Church,” Broglio said.
US Army regulations do allow for soldiers to request religious exemptions or accommodations, and the Army has yet to say how it intends to select members of the firing squad.

Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula warned Monday that it would execute American hostages in retaliation for the scheduled Dec. 3 execution of Hasan, the former Army major who murdered 13 people and wounded 32 others at the Texas Army base in 2009, the Washington Examiner reported.
“The day America makes this decision,” the Islamic terrorist organization said in a statement, “it will have made a decision to execute whoever among you falls captive to us.”
The threat follows warnings from an al-Qaida supporter in Yemen that Hasan’s execution could provoke attacks against American military personnel and commercial aviation.
According to an Oct. 7 report from the Middle East Media Research Institute’s Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor, the supporter posted a message on Telegram suggesting that executing Hasan could lead to the “hijacking of American planes and the killing of American soldiers.”

“Capital punishment is commanded by God in Genesis 9:6 to remind people of the sanctity of human life,” he added. “The more people that can see that truth illustrated through a public execution, the better.”

The 41-year-old reportedly tried to scrub her social media history of controversial posts promoting false vaccine conspiracies, urging Trump to run for an unconstitutional third term, and calling for the federal government to take over California.
The deleted posts were uncovered in a deep dive by The Bulwark , which used the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine to find an old Twitter account Zacharia deleted four years ago, along with some more recently deleted posts.
In one post last year, Zacharia responded to a message from Trump adviser Stephen Miller about sanctuary cities by calling on the nation to “suspend habeas corpus ,” a fundamental legal protection against arbitrary or unlawful arrest and imprisonment by the government.
In a separate post, in a dismissive response to a comment by California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Zacharia wrote: “The federal government under @realDonaldTrump should take over all California because you clearly can’t be trusted to do a single thing.”
She also shared an article that falsely claimed “8 in 10 women had a miscarriage after getting the COVID vaccine,” The Bulwark reported. Zacharia has also accused “leftist transgender assailants” of being responsible for “at least a dozen” school shootings.
