One might even think the outrage is less concern for the girl and more jealousy of the offender.

Geez. You’d think that occasionally Kennedy could get something right, if only by accident.
I noticed he didn’t ask The Big Questiontm: Do they win the Nobel Peace Prize?
Yes, that is a link to President Anwar Sadat’s acceptance speech. You might be interested to know he also received two American awards: Presidential Medal of Freedom and Congressional Gold medal.
Seriously, I’m really getting rather tired of bigots.
You’d think that occasionally Kennedy could get something right, if only by accident.
Why would I think that? If the ground were the target, he couldn’t hit it even by simply dropping something and letting gravity do the job.

As an aside, I find myself thinking negatively about JFK himself the more I see of his nephew.

Oh, come now. That is hardly appropriate.
Then do not eat hot dogs. I used to work for a hot dog company. Pink Slime perfectly describes the vats of ground up gristle that goes into those things. We used to joke that it was the Three T’s: Tips, Tongues and Touch Holes.
Yeah, well, they’re basically sausages and sausages are what you can’t use in anything else that you grind up and stuff in a casing. Other ingredients that have been used in sausage a lot of people find icky are blood, bone, and various internal organs. Traditional casings being composed of lengths of intestines which you hope were well cleaned, having at one time conveyed food into excretement.
That is a matter of opinion. Being shot dead is not enough to make you a posthumous good person or president, nor does it absolve you of having a nazi father and a MAGA nephew.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding you, @enipla, but cooking does nothing to the prions that cause Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (aka “Mad Cow” disease)
No, I didn’t thoroughly read the post I was responding to it seems. My bad.
I was just thinking of the scraps you see in stores that are sold as ‘stew’ meat.
Trump: The worst part is that voters have about a two week lifespan of memory.
One would think that that is the thing he most likes about voters given is favorite timeline.
Doesn’t this itself constitute election interference? So if I report him for election interference, then take the money, aren’t I complicit in the election interference? It’s corruption adsurdum!
The key is that you only get the money if it leads to a charge and conviction. So since no Republican will be charged by the Trump DOJ it only applies to voter fraud by Democrats. Same with his bounty on tax fraud, he gets to decide who counts.
I also think – based on watching the DOJ’s ‘election fraud’ approach to California, Nevada, and Washington (State) – they’d amass a list of ‘probable criminals,’ and then use that list – entirely unvetted – as more ‘evidence’ of widespread voter fraud.
No vetting. No investigation. No Grand Juries. No prosecutions. No payouts.
Totally on-brand.
Wasn’t Gitmo largely populated, during the Global War on Terror, with the enemies of people looking to collect the US-offered bounty who simply ‘fingered’ people with whom they’d had long-standing (usually tribal) feuds?
It has a nice “Hitler Youth” ring to it, either way. Color me a fan.

I mean, to be fair, John F. Kennedy doesn’t need any “absolution” for the bigoted views of his relatives, since he didn’t share them and wasn’t responsible for them (RFK Jr was only nine when JFK was assassinated, after all).
To be fair in the other direction, though, asshole relatives “tainting the family name” is definitely a thing. We can tell ourselves all we like that Person X shouldn’t be held responsible for the views or behavior of their terrible family members, but on some level we tend to think worse of the X’s as a clan because of them.
But a damning CNN investigation published Tuesday has exposed that Higgins has an unsavory history that includes social media attacks on immigrants, gay couples and women
Damming??? That’s practically a resume for this administration. That’s cabinet level qualification.
It’s a bit easier to avoid this when you have terrible relatives yourself. I don’t judge anyone by their family lest I get the same.
nor does it absolve you of having a nazi father and a MAGA nephew.
Why does one need absolution for having asshole relatives? My relatives aren’t my responsibility.
(Kids, maybe, but parents and extended family are entirely outside of my control.)
Yeah, that’s probably a post that should have been considered a bit more.
And it’s not like the rest of the family has given RFK Jr a pass. They’ve been publicly outspoken about him not representing the rest of the family.
In its own way, it’s a mirror of what RFK Jr and Trump himself were doing. Trump picked him hoping to benefit from association with the Kennedy name. And now, we have our very own poster trying to denigrate JFK due to association with his nephew and father.
Here’s a suggestion: maybe think twice before doing the same sort of thing Trump does
It’s corruption adsurdum!
Drat! I misspelled it. It’s corruption absurdum!
Maybe he’ll go on the Adkins diet.
Donald Trump’s latest rally appearance has been ridiculed after the president declared his “love for meat” while attacking Texas Senate candidate James Talarico.
Trump hosted a pair of midterm campaign events in Lubbock and Corpus Christi in the Lone Star State to stump for Republican Ken Paxton Tuesday. During his speeches he speculated on Talarico’s recent absence from the campaign trail due to sickness.
The president referenced the baseless MAGA conspiracy theory that Talarico’s “disappearance” was really due to a mental health episode before offering his own spin.
“I happen to think he was food poisoned by meat because he can’t stand it,” the president told his audience in Corpus Christi.
“You ever see him go to a barbecue and he’s trying to show – ‘I love the meat! Ahhh – I love it. Look.’ And then you see him. Where is he? He’s behind the tent puking. He’s sick as a dog.”
Trump made a series of hand gestures as he imitated the Democrat supposedly reluctantly eating meat. He then pivoted to an anecdote about first lady Melania Trump correcting his pronunciation of “vegan,” claiming he did not know because: “I really do like the meat.”
“He’s been a vegan and there’s not a damn thing he can do about it,” he insisted of Talarico, who has routinely denied being vegan.
Judge orders the felon to pony up with actual evidence that justified the murders at sea.
A federal judge in Manhattan repudiated an effort by the Trump administration to reconsider an order requiring the government to reveal its justification for fatal attacks on boats in the Caribbean.
In a 16-page ruling issued Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer, a Barack Obama appointee, flatly rejected various arguments advanced by the U.S. Department of Justice for keeping an Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) memo on the subject — as well as basic information and arguments about the memo — entirely under wraps.
In August 2025, operating on a presidential directive authorizing military force against “foreign criminal groups,” the Department of Defense (DOD) began attacking boats it claimed were trafficking drugs into the country. Some 234 people have been killed in those attacks, and the government has not provided evidence conclusively proving its claims, according to the underlying lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and other groups.
Here’s the meat of the matter.
“The Court’s order thus gave defendants—assuming their representations were true—a straightforward path to victory in this litigation: submit information that, by defendants’ account, was readily available and stood to support their position,” the order reads. “The defendants now, however, ask the Court to retract that order.”
Another prosecutor canned by the court for being in the position illegally.
A US judge ruled on Tuesday that Bill Essayli, the top federal prosecutor in southern California, was “unlawfully serving” as the head of the US attorney’s office and was disqualified from overseeing two criminal prosecutions.
The order, however, will not immediately go into effect, and the Department of Justice (DoJ) has said it intends to appeal.
The ruling was part of a long-running legal battle challenging the Trump administration’s maneuvers to keep Essayli in office despite not being confirmed by the US Senate. Essayli, a former Republican state lawmaker and ally of Donald Trump, became an interim US attorney in April 2025, but he was not formally nominated by the president, which allowed him to lead the office without going through the standard confirmation process.
After Essayli’s “interim” appointment ended last July, the Trump administration gave him an “acting” title, then kept him on as a “first assistant” after a judge ruled he was unlawfully serving as US attorney. But in August, a federal appellate court ruled against a Nevada justice department leader in a similar case, and the judge overseeing Essayli’s case cited that higher court’s ruling on Tuesday, issuing another order saying he was still acting unlawfully.
Here’s a suggestion: maybe think twice before doing the same sort of thing Trump does
In the Pit? Better hold my beer than your breath.
Then read how the argument developed (post by Smapti, response by ThelmaLou, my 2c) and tell me why JFK is to be considered beyond criticism. I see a lot of faults in him, why this knee jerk defense? He was neither a saint nor a particularly good president.
Granted, he did not have much time to make it better. But his untimely death also prevented him from making his legacy worse.

Then criticize him on his own faults, not those of his father or nephew.
He was hardly a perfect man and he is certainly not beyond criticism, but “his daddy and nephew were not good people” is a fucking stupid thing to fault him for
Nobody said JFK was beyond criticism, or that his assassination absolves him of anything. Just that judging him because his relatives are assholes is stupid.
No. Epstein’s island. Oops too late! Missed that one. ![]()
