Yes, it’s been discussed before, but here we are again. And that’s because Rip van Simple is still doing the dictator gig.
Washington — President Trump said early Wednesday that TV broadcast licenses should be revoked if newscasts and late-night shows are almost entirely negative about him and the GOP.
“If Network NEWSCASTS, and their Late Night Shows, are almost 100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party, shouldn’t their very valuable Broadcast Licenses be terminated? I say, YES!” Mr. Trump said in a post on Truth Social in the wee hours of the morning.
This is what happens when you grinchingly hijack a national monument.
NEW YORK (AP) — A planned Christmas Eve jazz concert at the Kennedy Center, a holiday tradition dating back more than 20 years, has been canceled. The show’s host, musician Chuck Redd, says that he called off the performance in the wake of the White House announcing last week that President Donald Trump’s name would be added to the facility.
DHS thinks Santa’s an ICE agent, though.
The Department of Homeland Security has taken its holiday-themed campaign for mass deportations to new lows with a video that turns Santa Claus into an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.
Under the direction of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, the department has attempted to glamorize its raids by creating glossy videos, which have sometimes earned the ire of musicians whose work is used as soundtracks . Even a former DHS chief of staff under Trump has called them “creepy,” “stupid,” and “wildly irresponsible.”
The latest offering is unlikely to change the agency’s reputation. “AVOID ICE AIR AND SANTA’S NAUGHTY LIST!” the official DHS X page posted on Monday alongside a video of Santa working for ICE.
And, of course, the video creation was cheaped out to AI.
The cringeworthy artificial intelligence-generated clip shows Saint Nick suiting up for an evening on the ICE beat, cuffing arrestees, booking them at a grim-looking processing facility and loading people onto a plane to be deported. It ends with the message, “Merry Christmas.”
Talk about not reading the room.
All I can say is, ‘What the everloving fuck is wrong with that man’? Yes, it’s rhetorical, I think we can all agree on the various diagnoses.
But what scares me more are the fucking right-wing morons across the world (including in my own country, Australia) who think Trumpism is fine and dandy, and who want to emulate him and suck his fucking dick.
It’s truly appalling.
Gutless. They should have shown Santa arresting that Nazarene born as a Bethlehem anchor baby.

Nothing says Happy Birthday to the Prince of Peace better than Jingle Bombs.
The U.S. launched strikes on ISIS targets in Nigeria on Thursday, President Trump said.
“Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries!” Mr. Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social . “I have previously warned these Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was.”
Mr. Trump did not provide further details on the strikes, such as how many people were killed, who or what was specifically targeted, and how many strikes were carried out, other than to say they were "numerous perfect strikes.

The Trump administration has suffered a pair of legal setbacks this week in battles involving New York state.
On Monday, a federal judge blocked the administration’s effort to divert Homeland Security funding from states that did not cooperate with the federal government’s immigration enforcement efforts, the Associated Press reported .
Then, on Tuesday, the New York Times reported that a different federal judge dismissed the Justice Department’s challenge to New York’s “Green Light Law,” which allows undocumented immigrants to get driver’s licenses and blocks federal immigration enforcement from accessing DMV data.
Monday’s decision was issued by U.S. District Judge Mary McElroy in a Rhode Island court, and would reinstate more than $230 million in grants from the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the AP reported .
“To hold hostage funding for programs like these based solely on what appear to be Defendants’ political whims is unconscionable and, at least here, unlawful,” McElroy wrote in her decision.
And another judge tells him he can’t have arrest sweeps at immigration courts.
A federal judge in San Francisco on Wednesday barred Immigration and Customs Enforcement and its Justice Department counterpart from “sweeping” civil arrests at immigration courthouses across Northern California, teeing up an appellate challenge to one of the Trump administration’s most controversial deportation tactics.
“This circumstance presents noncitizens in removal proceedings with a Hobson’s choice between two irreparable harms,” Judge P. Casey Pitts wrote in his Christmas Eve decision.
“First, they may appear in immigration court and face likely arrest and detention,” the judge wrote. “Alternatively, noncitizens may choose not to appear and instead to forego their opportunity to pursue their claims for asylum or other relief from removal.”
Wednesday’s decision blocks ICE and the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review from lying in wait for asylum seekers and other noncitizens at routine hearings throughout the region — a move that would effectively restore pre-Trump prohibition on such arrests.
I’m thinking there’s going to be another holiday melt-down in what’s left of the Orange White House.

People involved in transportation (commercial drivers, pilots with most levels of license) are required to demonstrate their fitness to continue with their activities and if unable those results are not private… but not fully public, either. The results are reported to the appropriate people and that person may no longer be able to do their job.
Seems to me the office of president should be similar… but I suspect at this point in time it is not.

A cheery Christmas message to go along with murdering people because they aren’t “Christians”. He, like all bullies, picks on people who can’t fight back, and likely has no proof that these particular victims are culpable of victimizing non-Muslims. Will this finally be the breaking point for elected Republicans? Sadly, it’s unlikely, as the majority value their paychecks, perks and insider trading more than they do their self respect.
