Regarding Grenell seeking damages, I wonder if Redd could claim his arrangement was with the “John F Kennedy” Center, not the “Donald J Trump and John F Kennedy” Center.
That was exactly my first thought.
The name change is illegal in the first place, so I doubt any kind of gotcha ya like that would fly. He’s got a stronger claim that the government is infringing on his First Amendment rights by punishing him for expressing a political opinion.
I wonder what the contract has to say about cancellations.
