How about Darwin himself? He, like most people in his culture, grew up believing the god of the Bible existed and was responsible for all living things, but, after sailing on the Beagle and studying life, he changed his mind and eventually came to call himself agnostic.
There is no mention of divine miracles anywhere in the Theory of Evolution. That’s what many Christians find so disagreeable about ToE. The ones who are trying to reconcile Christianity with ToE are in denial, because saying God used evolution to get life where it is now violates Occam’s Razor, because this explanation assumes the existence of something (God) whose existence cannot be proven.
Just yesterday when leaving the movie theater my roommate and I saw a car that had the Darwin Fish sticker on one edge of the bumper, and the regular Christian Fish on the other edge. We were amused.
heh. Someone should tell those EvolveFish people that the “shark” car emblem is also, judging by how many I’ve seen at the law school, highly popular with lawyers.
I’m just glad that the evolutionists are beginning to admit that their belief-system is a religion, hence the fish.
I agree that the Christian fish eating the Darwin fish is very immature. Perhaps if they could make a little Jesus fish that was enlightening the Darwin fish it would work, but that would be far too complicated to draw.
To me, that fish seems just as bad as the Truth Fish Eating Darwin Fish emblems.
First, there’s the whole denying the obviousness of evolution angle (“overcoming the Darwin Fish”). Secondly, there’s the “my belief system can beat up your belief system/worldview” factor involved. The Pagan Fish Emblem would be better if it left out the other fishes, IMHO.
