I’m actually planning on using a beehive as a footstool. It’s an unused one, and I’m not going to need it 'til next year, and I’ve got very little storage space. Should be good for a few funny looks
Not allowed a dog, so please post lotsa doggy pics so I can at least vicariously enjoy yours. I’m finally starting to want one, after being put off for years by living in a mad house with 3 badly trained mutts (plus a Jack Russell belonging to another housemate), one of which was huge and bit, kept by an idiot who would do stuff like disappear for the weekend, leaving the dogs, without warning. One was a shar pei, only one I’ve really met; she was OK, at least until the bitey dog moved in, at which point they all went a bit nuts.

YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudyish with a predicted high of 93 (heat index near a hunnert) and mostly N.O.S. for the day with a chance of a stray tstorm, as usual. Today is mowage day. As soon as I have enough daylight I shall commence. One may commence outside stuff at seven a.m. accordin’ to local county ordinance. I wait until I know the neighbors around me have left for irk cause I’m all considerate like that. I just want to do it and get it over with. ICK!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, as soon as I can, yahd irk shall commence.

I may be doing work for **FCD **tomorrow - he needs a drawing done and apparently his drafter is a waste of hair. So we shall see if TPTB will approve some funding for me. I’d have to do it as his desk, tho, since his part of the company uses a different server from mine. Anyway, to be continued…

I am at irk and irked. Been formatting exam papers all day because they have to be printed and delivered to the exams office by tomorrow. Most of them are done, except on Spanish literature paper which is missing a set of questions. They are offered six different options, but I’ve only had questions on five of them.
And the Italian exams officer has cheerfully sent me his two papers…squeaking in just before I had to go all medieval on him…and I’ve opened them up to find they are the summer exam papers and not the supplementary ones. I’m going to hunt him down and explain to him very carefully why he is a weaselbrained f*cknugget.
Moooom…only 21 days until I leave for my hollibobs!
It’s cloudy today, and we’re supposed to get rain for the next few days.
I thought my pup looked sleepy, but I can see somber in his little face.
It is kind of sad that this puppy will have more travel under his collar than we do. Well not really, but almost.
I’d love to visit other places if I didn’t have to travel to get there.

Mowage has been completed and fresh sheets are upon the bed. Not the same ones I took off either. A whole complete other set. The set I took off the bed is now in the dryer and will get folded and put away. I know this will please quite a number of you all.

I have an appointment with a new vendor at 1PM to do a contract to sell tickets for a new Escape Room that has just opened in KW. Vendor wants a base tour which I will happily provide. He has never been beyond the gate. Funny thing when I was talking to him on the phone his last name is my Mother in Law’s maiden name and he was telling me the origin.
Today is the last day of mini lobster season and hopefully the hoards will go home. The first arrest for 27 over the limit and one short was only two hours in and it was a 78 year old local fisherman. He damn well knows the rules. I like lobster but would much rather a nice piece of fish.

**BooFae **- YAY for impending travels! Have you a preference for a related MumpFest/DopeFest? I had tossed out the suggestion for a picnic in a park or something similar, because I find that to be more conducive to mingling and conversation than multiple tables crammed together in a restaurant.
I’d offer my house as the venue, but I fear I’m too far from DC for that to work. No one like driving all the way out to the boonies. I don’t mind planning an event, and I’m assuming we’re looking at Saturday, Aug 26 - what would you like to do?

My second night of no sleeping and it’s not puppy related. Just not sleeping. Oh well, c’est la vie.
Sari - have you thought of taking the train or a cruise? Train because it’s cheaper (maybe) than flying, you get to see a lot more of the country, and you don’t have to get on and off all the time unless you wanna. A cruise for many of the same reasons, plus food and maid service. I think they’re both relatively stress free ways to expand your travel.
Actually, just got a stoopit email from the people doing a credit check for the agency saying I need to send them a picture of my bank account statement, showing the savings I told them about. Except the savings I told them about are not in a bank account, they’re in a government backed savings scheme (from which I can take money out at a week’s notice). And I not only already told them that, I already sent them a picture of the most recent statement letter I have. Which was sent back attached to the email.
Bleedin’ eejits. I suspect they’re just whinging about the date- last month- as the agency said the scheme is perfectly acceptable, but they’ve send the standard email, which doesn’t explain at all what the problem is.
swampy, I did brinner too. Mine was a spinach and mushroom omelet with grits and bacon though.
Got month end mostly wrapped up. I just have to show up for last minute stuff tomorrow and Monday. I switched my day off to Tuesday so’s I can spend it with Nelson.
Truck made it home one last tiem, and Gordie went out just before it started storming.
10 days till vacation. And 375 days till maybe I can [del]axe[/del]meet up with some more East Coast Dopers.

Slow day, so treated myself to a 5 Guys meal, which means I won’t be hungry again until noon tomorrow.
Rain is due tomorrow, so perhaps I’ll finally organize my 2017 papers (I have the box and the folders all ready, just been piling the papers on top of the box for the last 7 months…)
Woke early, of course. We’re promised rain for the next 2 days, so I may actually do some *<gasp> *house cleaning. <swoon> Or I’ll sit on my butt in front of Netflix all weekend. We shall see.
As soon as we get cleaned up, we’re going out for breakfast. Then **FCD **will be working all day and I’ll start by emptying the dishwasher. After that, who knows.
