The Perfect Midnight Snack
Mmmmmmm…
Midnight snack? If I am hungry, cucumber, turkey, and provolone on crackers. If it is my sweet tooth, shaved mint chocolate on ice cream over a brownie or piece of white cake.
I’m sorry, but you’re all wrong, the perfect snack is:
One layer of saltine crackers placed on plate
Sliced meat of choice on crackers (I like salami and/or pepperoni)
Shredded cheese of choice (I like chedder) spread over crackers
Hot sauce dribbled on concoction
Nuke until cheese is oh-so gooey
(note: I assume no liability for any heart attacks you might suffer from repeated eatings of the ‘bouv crackers’)
Kraft Dinner… you combine noodles, cheese, milk, and butter.
I just had a whole box!
Chocolate chip cookie(Mrs. Fields or something similar)
peanut butter(chunky)
sunflower seeds
honey
repeat as needed
Graham crackers spread with cheesecake flavored Philadelphia cream cheese, then topped with either blueberry, raspberry or strawberry preserves.
Banana chocolate chip muffins. I make them from scratch, they’re not Entemann’s or anything.
A PBJ sammich. Skippy honey-nut PB, Welch’s grape jelly and Martin’s potato bread.
And now I’m hungry. Thankfully, there is a batch of muffins I made yesterday.
Sheri
Chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup with a chocolate bar dipped in chocolate. Serve with chilled chocolate milk.
Apple and Cinnamon Muffin and a nice hot cup of tea.
Kids today
The ultimate snack for grownups…
Baguette, wild duck pate, chorizo sausage, sheep’s milk cheese, green olives and a glass of beaujolais to wash it down
apple slices dipped in a mix of sour cream, honey, and rum. MMMMMMMM!
Two slices of bread, one whole-wheat, one white
Spread white bread with chocolate sauce
Spread whole-wheat bread with garlic spread
Put them in a toaster oven (NOT a toaster, a toaster OVEN)
Toast
Take out, let cool, serve with whatever drink’s currently in the fridge.
Mmmmmmmmmm…
One of my favorites I don’t get very often - leftovers from home-made raviolis. They don’t even have to be heated up, just scooped out and eaten cold (this counts, I think because you have to combine the ingredients to make the raviolis and sauce). It’s almost better than fresh. Yum.
Or, for a wonderful food - drink combination, find some good dark chocolate (dark is very important - Dove will work as an inexpensive choice for the chocolate) and wash it down with a nice, flavorful red wine. It sounded odd to me when it was introduced to me, but the combination is amazingly good. (Where’s the smiley licking its lips?)
If it’s not too much of a hijack, What are your favorite leftovers to have as a midnight snack? (You already know mine.)
I just recently found the great food known to men as nutella. My GOD that thing is good!! I can’t imagine how I can live without it anymore…anything with nutella is the shiznit’
I have two:
Peanut butter on graham crackers. The perfect candy bar substitute. One day I’ll try it with chocolate on top. Yum!
Peanut butter on a toasted and buttered bagel.

Mmmmmmmm.
My personal fave:
Popcorn made on top of the stove, with about 3 tablespoons of melted butter poured over it and a generous amount of salt. Followed by a candy bar, (chocolate only). If the candy bar doesn’t contain nuts or caramel, then it must be frozen (plain M & Ms, Hershey chocolate bar, Reese Peanut Butter Cups).
Graham crackers spread with peanut butter (smooth ONLY, no chunky). For an even sweeter snack, top the peanut butter with honey. I haven’t tried chocolate on top, but I do have g. crackers, p. butter and Hershey syrup in the fridge. I might be experimenting tonight.
Yondan, yellow cake with choco frosting is the best. The best.
Chocolate coated Corn-Nuts and peanut butter Vegemite on whole wheat with a tall glass of Nestle’s chocolate milk beer Diet Coke.
…Not that I would ever eat something like this, but these are the ingredients that all great snacks are made of.
my favorite:
trisket craker, with a slice of gallo dry italian salame, a slice of mozzella cheese and topped with a smoked oyster.
i eat these while watching college football and formula one on the tv, with lots of cold beer. been eatin’ them for years and just look at this beautiful body!
