Man, what a stupid argument. “You don’t need to teach history in school because you can just read a book from the library and listen to grampa’s war stories” - right, because the anecdotes that gramps tells you are totally accurate and not bias at all! Can you imagine the skewed version of history she passes on to her own kids? Also, what in the hell is wrong with kids learning about WWII or Vietnam in American History class? Isn’t that pretty much the kind of thing you talk about in a class like that?
