I got the impression it cleared his mind. She reminded him of how much more important it was now that he take care of the kids. Sort of a delusional reality check.
From up thread…IMO
Now you, I understand perfectly.
The word “Glaggie” makes me giggle. You should keep it.
Best part of the episode for me was Rick walking up to the fence and seeing Michonne. Imagine what was going on inside his head when he sees and breathing human just strolling along among the walkers. That was cool.
Thanks!
Yeah, me too; I was wondering how long they were going to keep him in that “feral” state. Might have been interesting to have seen what the others would do with/about him if he stayed that way any longer.
Cool yes, but shouldn’t have surprised him much, considering it was actually his idea to use the zombie guts camouflage way back in Atlanta.
Just in case it comes up in future nitpicks…Michonne also heard Merle say the name “Glen.” If anyone’s wondering how she knows his name once she starts talking to Rick at the prison. She’s got the baby formula…
Plus, I think it’s possible that Michonne could have been the ‘watcher in the woods’ from an earlier episode. It’s most likely that it was the prisoner who let the zombies in, but not required.
And with Woodbury and the prison being fairly close to each other, Michonne could have spotted it while she was gadding about when Andrea was sick. Did our heroes see the helicopter go down?
Cool.
Reminds me of keeping her ZPets around.
I was perplexed at Merle’s actions in this episode. Offscreen, he’s sent after Michonne for some reason by the Governor. He finds her, she kills half his team, and vanishes back into the woods.
Merle and Gargulio give chase, Michonne attacks again. Merle’s left with a broken nose, Cargulio’s been slashed, and Michonne shot. The suddenly plucky Cargulio wants to press on, Merle would rather head back to Woodbury and tell the Governor that they killed Michonne, who, after all, is as good as dead, entering the Red Zone. Cargulio can’t conscience lying to the Governor, so Merle shoots him.
But Merle apparently gives chase to Michonne anyway. Why on Earth would he kill his last teammate to facilitate returning to Woodbury and lying to the Governor, then decide to press on after all?
He didn’t press on after her. He headed back towards their vehicle where ever that was, and all four of them just happened to end up in the same spot.
I don’t think he was chasing Michonne when he went into that small town. He had mentioned earlier to his teammate that they should find a car in order to head back home. I think he was carshopping, so to speak.
I’ve been Reverse-ninja’d dammit!
So it was just coincidence that he ended up at the same spot as Michonne at the same time? I’m not sure if that’s better or worse than Merle just changing his mind.
Another point: The Governor asked Merle for Michonne’s head, which is to be expected after the scene with the fish tanks, but also her sword. He can’t expect to have someone using her sword with Andrea around to notice, so is that evidence that he just really likes trophies, or evidence that he doesn’t have long-term plans for Andrea?
Also Andrea probally told her all about the group, everyone’s names, what happened with Merle on the rooftop, etc.
Uh oh. Good question.
Ironically, in any of the spoiler bitchfests in these threads and others – like Game of Thrones, for example – “whiny butthurt crybabies” has always more accurately described the posts of those who simply cannot resist mentioning the source material and the people who defend them. This quoted post above being the epitome of whiny butthurt crybaby hissy fits.
Gretchen, stop trying to make “fetch” happen.
More seriously, G&M would be fine if you can’t type their names out.
Glaggie makes me glag.
I need to rewatch again, but did I see nearly the same scene played twice in this episode?
-Someone asks one of his team “How do you pronounce your name?” and then shoots him.
-Later on, same person asks one of his team "How do you pronounce your name? and then shoots him.
I swear I saw this twice, to the point that when it happened the second time, I knew he was going to shoot the guy.
Merle made a big deal of pronouncing a minion’s name correctly when trying to get him to suck up.
He asked his name pronunciation again to distract him while being shot.
Merle pretended not to know the name when he reported to the Govenator.
Earlier this season, Andrea complained that while Michonne knew everything about her, she knew almost nothing about Michonne (“You know enough,” was Michonne’s reply). So I think we can assume that Michonne is aware of everything that happened to Andrea after (and probably before) the apocalypse, and will have no problems convincing Rick’s gang that she was Andrea’s friend and rescuer. Then again, this would require a conversation, rather than glowering and being inscrutable, so I predict needless conflict and drama when the group asks Michonne questions.
I’ll bet Michonne can manage to get across that there was a skirmish between Merle and two people that talked about a jail and that he appeared to know know one of them. He took them hostage, she knows where they’re heading…bad place…governor. Andrea’s talked about you guys.
And say it all in about 6 words and a lip quiver.
