The Walking Dead; 3.11 "I Ain't Judas" (open spoilers)

Knowing her back story I’d like to think the idea crossed her mind much too frequently.

I kind of hope the name Little Ass Kicker sticks. It could start a new naming trope among children of survivors, kind of like names the people of the O.T. used (when they named their kids “He laughed” or “Who is like God?”) or the Native Americans (“Crazy Horse” and “One Who Yawns”) only in English.

Good idea, Two Dogs Fucking.

For everyone that keeps wondering when Daryl and Carol are going to hook up, didn’t they already? It was certainly implied in the season three premier “seed”:

Daryl Dixon: We should go back.
Carol Peletier: Could be romantic… wanna screw around?
[Daryl gives her a look; Carol laughs]
Daryl Dixon: [heads toward the ladder] I’ll go down first.
Carol Peletier: Even better!
[laughs again]

I suppose they left it open-ended, but that certainly seems like that’s what they were going down the ladder to do.

I noticed this the last two episodes. Five minutes before the end, they do a quick, live Talking Dead segment. Didn’t fool me though.

Rick I’ll grant you, but Daryl? Clannish, perhaps, but stupid?

Another plus for semi-intelligent zombies: you can show tactics like this working for a little while, until the zombies stop falling for it.

Spoiler for Tremors

Like the graboids in Tremors, falling for the bomb-swallowing trick once.

The characters seem less stupid and lazy, and the menace is more menacing.

The supporting characters (and actors) have consistently been better than the leads on the entire run of TWD.

I’m confused. They did show a few seasons of the group surviving alone before settling into this turf war.

Wasn’t she talking about something regarding the Gov trusting Andrea enough to sleep with her after all that’s been going on?

I agree. As the show mires itself in distracting BS, she has really come to the fore in many respects.

I didn’t understand that either. They still have the inner fence. All they needed to do was spend a few hours a day spearing zombies at the fence line in the head with knives, spears, etc. They wouldn’t have made noises to attract more of them and they could have eliminated enough of them to go fix the damn outer fence. So stupid.

Do we really know or believe that would have happened? Perhaps. That Ramirez guy probably would have killed her in that instance, or, if she had escaped from Woodbury and went back to the prison after killing “Phillip”, Ramirez likely would have taken control and the Woodbury peeps would be more bloodthirsty for revenge than before.

They really need to let that happen. I want to see her on the back of his bike more often. Daryl is far and away the best character on this show now, in terms of complete, single-minded badassery, followed closely by Carol and Herschel (who should have read crazy Rick the riot act in the last episode before the attack by the Governator, followed by a crutch to the head to help him clear his mind.

I hate the fact that Rick has gone to pieces. He was once our fearless leader, made good decisions…now he’s just a wreck. Maybe Carl was right. Let Herschel be the wisdom and Daryl and Glenn be the armed muscle for a change.

Oh, and Rick…hold your baby a little more often dude.

I should amend my last statement to include Merle. I was speaking of “our good guys”. Merle is also one of the best characters on the show, but so utterly unlikeable!

I don’t understand the Governor shifting the eye patch. The idea is that he is trying to use the bad eye? He seemed far too comfortable in the scene with the folks who had been staying at the prison, looking around at people and smiling. And nobody remarked on the shift of the patch to the other eye. Anyone else find this puzzling?

Hey, sometimes the little head with one eye does the thinking instead of the big head with one eye.

I don’t think any of the Governor’s lieutenants could keep contral very long. Most likely Andrea would flee, there’d be one poorly planned vengence attack on the prison, and the Wooburians would start to flee like there were trying to do before.

I think Andrea and the Governor are actually starting to fall in love with eachother, more so on his part.

How long has it been since season 3 started? Seasons 1 & 2 took place over only 10 weeks or so (including the timeskip in the pilot) and there was an 8 month gap in betweent 2 & 3 (the sole purpose of which seems to be get the baby born).

I find it puzzling so many people seem to be confused about the Governor’s bad eye (they even mentioned it on The Talking Dead). His bad eye has not shifted, and has not changed since Michonne put it out. There was a scene in this week’s episode with him looking in a mirror (that was also shown in last week’s preview) that many have for some reason misunderstood or misinterpreted (he was not trying to cauterize the eye, either) - he was looking in the mirror, holding up a match to get a better look at the damage, and then slipped the eye patch on. No shift, same bad eye, different (mirrored) perspective.

Zombies in the Walking Dead universe have a pheromone inside their throat, which warns other zombies to stay away from it. It only works within a few inches of the zombie itself, but it helps ensure that the zombies don’t attack one another. When a zombie’s jaw is broken, however, the pheromone is released and has a “safe zone” range of approximately 10 feet surrounding the broken zombie.

Huh? You do understand how a mirror works, don’t you?

It’s gotta be well within a month since season 3 started. In ep 9 they said the baby was “barely” a week old. Glenn said in this ep the rescue from Woodbury was “days” ago – so less than a week, probably. That means that Judith is something like 9 to 12 days old, give or take. Hershel was just back on his foot after his injury when Judith was born. I’d guess at most that was 2 weeks after his injury, but probably closer to a few days to a week. So 2 - 3.5 weeks by my reasoning.

I thought it was his left eye that was injured in the fight with Michonne, but later in this episode he had the patch on his right eye. Am I mistaken?

Yes. It was his right eye (episode 3.8 “Made to Suffer”, first aired 12/2/2012).
