No, people continuing to argue and whine about the rule is what ruined the GoT thread, for a while. It is a perfectly cromulent rule. People who haven’t read the source material don’t want discussions about things that have a high probability of being spoilers in the thread… it changes how you enjoy the show.
Start a thread for people who have read the comics if you want to discuss those.
As has been pointed out, we’re not discussing the source material in the TV show thread. That’s been established and it’s going to continue. If you’d like to compare the two, that is perfectly fine — but you need to do it in another thread. Oh, look here. If you have more to say about the issue, you’ll need to take it to ATMB so you don’t drag this thread off topic.
Love the show and the Talking Dead afterwards… I love this thread as it confirms that I am not alone in my way of thinking. I do not need closure on all the characters and how they died. I know they have to eat and go to the bathroom but we never see that either.
I knew Carol was going to come back but seriously thought it would be a bit longer when they ran into each other…small world huh? And where are all the houses? walking in the woods for miles and no houses. I am sort of creeped out on how many walkers are hanging in the woods, really I would think a mega herd would be in cities or towns…not the woods.
Maggies accent drove me crazy. Give Judith a pacifier for cripes sake! Beth finally crying at an inopportune time. also it took me awhile to figure out that was Tara…I thought it was a man for the first few times we saw her in the fence/cage.
spoilers that make it on this thread, yeah sort of annoy me but then I dont have to read the thread either… i like those little boxes that give you a choice on to see the spoiler or not.
Someone invariably screws up the spoiler box or thinks they are being so effing clever and says something like “Well, Rick sure isn’t going to like it when (spoiler) finally dies, but maybe he’ll get his hat back.”
Better to just cut it off completely.
I liked the episode except for Beth being dumb, Lizzie stabbing two rabbits “just cuz,” Glen being magic-ed up to the upper level of the prison after clearly being on the bus when it drove off, Carol also being magic-ed to the vicinity of the kids.
That, and the spoiler in this thread wasn’t originally in a box. The box was added by Ellen post hoc.
I forgot that he was clearly shown riding off on the bus. Also, why did he suddenly faint at the end of the episode? Lingering effects of the illness exerting themselves intermittently?
Thank you! Yes, she is annoying but she is a helpless living human and once you go down the path of killing babies just because they are loud and annoying you have lost your humanity. I agree with most of the other comments about how stupid the characters are but leaving a baby to die a horrible death or outright killing her is not one of those stupid things.
As for Carol showing up being too convenient, I don’t think so. I find it entirely believable that she would have gone back to the prison and kept watch. Maybe she was hoping to catch Lizzie or Myka out in the yard and get them to join her. She felt responsible for them and if all the speculation of just how psycho Lizzie may be is true Carol may have felt she needed to get Lizzie out of there before she does something else crazy. Carol happening to be there when everything went to shit isn’t that much harder to believe if she happened to be watching the place since she was exiled.
We developed a tradition of copy pasting the thread spoiler rules in the first post a long time ago. No spoilers until it airs in x timezone, spoiler box comic book discussion, outside sources, scenes for next week etc.
Personally, this show is zombie brain splattering mental bubble gum and I don’t care much, but some do and putting the rules in first post helps remind everyone.
He told the girl be broke out with, “I saw that not everyone was on the bus, and got off to help.”
Yes, I think he is weak from the illness, and the fighting was too much for him.
I can give the writers a “plausible” on this one. We saw Glen on the bus. We saw the bus drive off leaving Maggie behind. What we did not have is a continuous camera shot of the bus in between those two points in time. At least I think I’m right on that. So, could glen have had a moment of “we are starting to drive off and my hot girlfriend isn’t here. I’m getting off to look for her.”
Maybe.
Still don’t get the burning of the car to distract walkers, where did that shit come from. We’ve seen walkers shambling past fires numerous times, and not one seemed drawn to it. Herschel’s barn burned to the ground, and zombies were clearly chasing Andrea AWAY from the fire.
Perhaps there were bodies in the car, and roasted meat smelled better than the steal tar-tare they had been eating.
Perhaps Glenn held onto his Poetic License.
Speaking of meat, here’s something I’ve wondered about for a few seasons: when walkers get you they generally devour you, with not much left to slither around with. If fresh kills get eaten, where are all these relatively intact looking walkers coming from? Some of them have entertainingly gross mutilations but a lot of them don’t seem to have suffered more than a nip. It’s not like they’re vampires going around deliberately infecting people then leaving.
Re: the bus–yeah, it’s not impossible, but given that we saw him on the bus nearly unable to move and then shortly after, we see the bus driving away, it really does seem cheap to have Glen suddenly not near where that action took place.
The burning car thing bothered me as well. I thought it would have made more sense if there had been a body in the car (on top of the car even) that the fire would be barbecuing to draw the attention.
I don’t find it cheap.
Nearly unable to move, no Maggie, he “comes back to help”, only manages to get inside, find the door with the bridge or whatever blown off, and passes out.
He does seem to do that a lot.
