Well, the thread title does include “open spoilers” in it, soooo…yeah.
Anyway…I am not getting the whole “Lizzie is crazy, she killed those rabbits!” thing.
It looked to me like they were getting ready to tuck in and eat and I assumed she was killing them so they could cook them but were unable to finish the job because of a walker assault. Am I mis-remembering?
She did it pretty slyly, and soon after Tyreese said something like, “I’m going to find us some food,” at which she pointedly failed to say, “Lucky I found these rabbits - here!”
Also, you’ve got to have noticed how much she was enjoying baby/chicken-ing Judith. She actually gave her fascination with smothering a baby precedence over escaping from walkers or saving her own life. She is fucking creepy.
(And it’s really weird to see the actress on True Detective playing the normal, functional daughter!)
I’d like to see a half or full season of them on the road too.
The shoe was a red herring, and it’s not that contrived a coincidence that another girl would be running around with the same shoes as Mika. I doubt her shoes were custom cobbled for her.
Now I am confused as to which one is Lizzie. The girl holding Judith when Tyreese left them “back to back” to go help random strangers was the older sister. She’s the one that held her hand over Judith’s mouth and nose when she wouldn’t stop crying after Tyreese left. Is that Lizzie? Because I thought it was the younger sister, johnny-I-forget-her-name that killed the rabbits. Again…could be mis-remembering.
Wasn’t that spoiler related to the books though? If it was, who cares? The show has repeatedly shown deviance from the books.
This episode annoyed me. How did these people survive so long? The funny thing is, I suspect the writers get this, because from time to time we get to see small groups of even more incompetent people get quickly dispatched as if for the show to say “See, our guys are badass.” I get that we as viewers have years of zombie fiction to have made plans on, but it must have been a year at least ‘in universe’ to have worked some of this stuff out.
I see that Zombie skulls are back to overripe watermelons.
I agree on the WTF on the burning car. Where did that come from? Cracked me up to think of all those zombies going “Oh shiny!” .
That’s the thing - there are spoilers in the comics and stuff going on in the comics that doesn’t go on in the show - we’ve found it best if we just treat the comics like they don’t exist for the purposes of discussing the show.
Yes, Lizzie is the older one who’s sanity is in serious question. Mika is the younger one who went running off into the woods in the hopes of getting herself killed by an unseen walker.
I was thinking about this today; the producers and writers of the show have access to people who’s only job could be to fix up all the idiocies we see in the show; I only have to assume that they don’t want the show to be less stupid - they like it just as stupid as it is.
I vaguely recall that we tossed that idea around way back when, when Carol got excommunicated by Rick; in light of how insane Lizzie seems to be, it might be time to re-visit that idea - it makes more sense than Carol doing it. I’m wondering how a young girl could kill two adults, but if they were sick and weak enough…
She’s already killed critters for the lulz. Feeding rats to zombies, dissecting them and pinning them to walls, you know, normal kid stuff. And good money says she killed those two sick folk. I’m all in though! I’d like to see Carol and Lizzie on the road, Carol getting freaked out and trying to control Lizzie’s dark impulses but at the same time appreciating her burgeoning survival skills.
Am I the only one who thinks Lizzie is going to kill Tyreese? Or threaten to and make him back off? Because he’s going to find out about Carol’s lies. And Lizzie likes Carol a lot. The only reason I can think for this not to happen is Tyreese is too important to die, maybe? But he really hasn’t done that much in the show, so I dunno.
OH FOR FUCKS SAKE can we please not bring that annoying “pretend the source material doesn’t exist” bullshit into this series’s threads? That utterly ruined the Game of Thrones threads. Never had any such rule in threads for Dexter or True Blood, and those threads went along just fine (until the shows went wonky anyway, but that’s not related to pretending things didn’t exist that did)
They were awfully annoying - did we really need 500 minutes of Judith screeching her lungs out? We got it - loud babies are a detriment in the zombie apocalypse.
Boy I liked last week’s episode much better than this one.
Glenn waking up back at the prison was a bit lame, but at least he grabbed the riot gear. I’d have cobbled together a complete Star Wars storm trooper suit by now.
I do like Carol, Tyreese and the crazy girl who probably really killed T’s girlfriend all together in one place. The way they did it wasn’t very exciting, but it should get more interesting. I really didn’t want to see Judith again. Rick’s going to have a tough time chasing Carol off again when she shows up with his baby. Doh!
Lizzy killed bunnies! Rats, babies and sick patients is fine, but this is going too far. She must die, preferably right after she gets Carol off the hook.
Have we touched base with all the main characters now? Time to start building up the next threat? I’m sure Terminus will be just peachy. I’m expecting Tina Turner and zombie fight clubs.
