Especially when led by someone who was having fun and games until his eye was poked out!
It just sucks to me. They’ve been wasting so much time wasting time with the story. They could have at least given us a taste without some of the completely unnecessary fluff we’ve been fed for at least a third of the episodes this season.
That was a flashback to when Bob first met and joined the group. I was confused at first too, and I’m not sure what the point was. We already knew Bob had been in two prior ill-fated groups, and wondered if he were jinxed or something, and the flashback didn’t seem to add anything new to his backstory.
It showed that he was quite capable on his own for sure - found a cave - made a nice place to stay - used the top of the truck - resourceful, not insane - almost ‘zen like’ at times. Otherwise - yeah - confusing the way it was inserted - totally unrelated to the overall story unless it was to say “sucks to be alone”
The producers/directors/writers/whoever stands to make money are either milking this for all it is worth or being cool.
It fellates with great alacrity.
Was it Beth driving away or the Keepers of the Gingerbread House?
I’m pretty sure Beth was kidnapped and the reason Daryl didn’t see the car is because the car belongs to the owner of the mortuary house who was out running errands when they first arrived there.
Why did Beth and Daryl stop in front of that one gravestone, put flowers on it and hold hands? I barfed a little there. Okay, okay, sometimes it does matter. Whatever.
All I could gather was because the headstone read “Beloved Father” or something like that. The grave was from the 19th century if I’m not mistaken. Yet another weird scene.
My husband called it a “Hansel & Gretel House.” As soon as he saw how clean and stocked it was he knew it was a trap.
Haven’t read through the thread yet so not sure if it’s been mentioned, but apparently that dog lost his eye IRL while saving his owner from a carjacker.
Beth HAD to have been kidnapped, there is no earthly reason she would jump in a car and drive off like a bat out of hell leaving Daryl.
The gravestone said “Beloved Father” and that made Beth sad, thinking of her own father. Who never got a burial, his dead body left outside the prison and his decapitated head reanimated for all she knows (though it was stabbed by Michonne). It was a little moment putting her father to rest by proxy. I can absolutely see that happening, why not? It didn’t take long and made her feel a little better.
Unless she had a Sharpie on her (and that would really get the mob baying for blood) - writing in blood seems like a good choice. Blood stains are hard to get out of most anything, so her message is likely to last through a couple of rainstorms at any rate.
So you’re saying the opening scene was not a future-we-haven’t-seen-yet?? I was all, “yay Daryl and Glenn find one another next episode!” So — not? :dubious:
Well, otherwise I liked the episode. Daryl and Beth don’t squick me out; in such a scenario I don’t think she’s inappropriately young. There’s really no longer a need for a sheltered adolescence when kids have to deal with grownup problems in the ZA world.
Also, I sort of enjoyed the break from Rick. He’s a handsome hunk but I’m getting a little tired of his manufactured “looks.” Like what’s-his-name taking off his sunglasses in CSI Miami before delivering the punchline. YAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
