Was it just me or did Eugene sound like a walker when he woke up? I don’t even remember him getting any screen time after that and I though he had died and was waiting for him to wander off.
Well, Herschel was a doctor, or as close to a doctor as you can expect to find in the zombie apocalypse. So he was the most valuable liability you can have.
It’s annoying how Eugene can’t run any faster than zombies can walk. But, I don’t think his lying is all that unforgivable. Sure, people have died, but if it weren’t for Eugene, Abe would have just sat there and died all despondent and stuff. If they’d set up housekeeping someplace lots of people would have died anyway. We know how well homesteading works in this world. Eugene kept them moving, albeit slowly, but it’s quite possible Abe & Rosita are alive because of him, too.
I should add that their ratings rose 38% on Friday. I also personally believe the show is greatly improving, which should help chances.
Predictions:
The group will intrude on another cannibal enclave but the people- played by News Radio stars Stephen Root, Dave Foley, and Khandi Alexander, are much nicer at this one and the main course so enticing that even Rick has to try “just a little nibble for the road”.
Abe will begin channeling the spirit of an elderly Jewish lady named Rhoda who claims to have a grandson who knows all about things like this and can help, but won’t ever call.
The castaways will put on a musical to improve morale and Carl and Michonne will kick ass with a mashup of Jolene and It’s Raining Men.
I thought he did, too, and thought Maggie was a little reckless just going up to him but since she did and started talking to him before the scene ended and not screaming and shouting and stabbing when they cut away to Abe, I figured he was okay. Having Eugene die would certainly open up the drama with Abe but then again, Abe would probably just finish what he was about to do when Eugene showed up. It just seems more likely both characters get to live for now and everyone may be a little less pissed off at Eugene since he took a beating and they will be wary of Abe. More living people means more drama. Once they are dead they can’t add to the drama except for occasional mentions. Which by the way, I was glad they mentioned Jim in the BobBeQue episode. It’s nice when they remember some of their fallen comrades and not just the main ones like Andrea and Hershel.
Yes, Eugene sounded like a walker, and that was on purpose. They were waiting for him to die and turn or wake up. He mumbled a couple words, so we know he’s okay.
Ah, didn’t hear him say anything. I don’t pay full attention to the show so I miss things like that. It was really strange what I saw, her walking back like that when I thought he had turned. I even asked the TV if she was gonna get her knife ready or not.
As I saw it, Maggie placed a hand on the haft when she heard the zombie-like growling, then let it go when Eugene began speaking.
It didn’t much bother me that she took the threat of Eugene-as-zombie lightly. At her level of skill, only groups of, say, at least walkers are dangerous, and even then only if they manage to surround her.
On other matters: somebody upthread wondered if Sasha had never seen a movie. I’d like to point out that zombie movies generally don’t exist in zombie fiction, and certainly not in TWD’s universe; it wouldn’t surprise me if action movies don’t either. Probably Maggie’s only ever seen rom-coms, Cecil B. DeMille epics, and porn.
And they never say “zombie.” Walkers, rotters, etc, but never “zombie.”
Question: Are you protected from napalm in a building? I am a little confused how the people in the hospital even survived if they were that close to the strike. Or am I just confused about the locations? Maybe they weren’t that close to the hospital in the warehouse, or maybe napalm doesn’t cover a very wide area?
I’m actually probably pretty confused about the locations because I don’t understand how with all the moving around they’ve done they are still that close to Atlanta or have they just gone in circles? I think there was a map somewhere online that showed their travels, I should look for that.
When Dawn received the radio report about a gunshot being fired, they said it was like a mile away, presumably meaning the distance from the hospital.
It looked like the area had been set on fire.
Correct. See post 32.
I think this is it. Regulars get paid the same amount for each episode they’re in, whether it’s a non-speaking cameo, or they’re the subject of the whole episode.
There were more cops too. They pick who to savenap based on how compliant a worker they’d be.
[QUOTE=doorhinge;17924432…When I saw Dawn give Beth the keys to the drug cabinet, given Dawn’s paranoid behavior, I thought this could be a test. That Dawn wanted to see who Beth would interact with in order to steal medical supplies, which of the guards she could fool, and how she did it. Strawberry Santa dude could end up on Dawn’s “hit” list and the three guards who were distracted by his phony choking could get a stern talking to. Or beating…[/QUOTE]
Interesting idea.
They’re also breeding hamsters for food.
I was interested to see what Tara had found inside the backpack.
As far as I can remember from that timeline, they noticed the fish, and went back to the zombies to scavenge for anything to help them.
Tara pulled out some muddy clump in her hand, and says something like, “You won’t believe what I found.”
Then, they are lifting a fish out of the river using some of the torn clothing.
(Maybe the last two things happened about the same time.)
Then they were walking back with their catch and the water. No mention of whatever she found.
I understand the need of having a cliffhanger, but it happened so quick, I get the feeling most people forgot about it.
My understanding was the object was the yo-yo she was seen playing with while walking back to the fire truck.
It was the yo-yo
But Darryl’s answer was perfect - a growled, “If we have to.” Like, you’re not seriously going to tell us that you place your cross above human life, are you? Yeah, Gabriel is a waste of skin. I was thinking today that not everyone needs to be a fighter; there is a need in the group for people to scavenge and people to look after the anchor around their necks (aka the baby) - he just needs to not actively be trying to sabotage the group.
I was thinking about this more today, and I’m wondering now if that is indeed a conceit of the show, that part of their mythos is that these people really have never seen a dramatic movie or read a book, and that’s why they’re always doing the stupid things they’re doing. That fits with the way no one ever says the word “zombie,” too.
That would explain a lot, but it’s still an awfully big leap to expect us to make.
Calvin: How quietly do you think we can nail these back in?
