There are a few at least, the hair cutter’s husband at least. It’s quite possible that many of the men died soon after trying to clear the area.
They talked about this on Talking Dead, they said that because the community is a real subdivision there were building rules they had to follow. I’m guessing that’s why they are built “backwards”, to conform to real world laws.
We saw how stupid douchebag was, they probably got themselves in to some encounter they couldn’t get out of. It’s also possible those four ran off for some reason.
No, Alexandria is right there at the southern part of DC. Maybe she lived in the area normally and was taking a more back roads type route to get back to Ohio. The roads in the DC area can get screwed up really quick, and there’s only a couple of bridges across the Potomac river. Going west she might have decided to take US 50, which while slower, might not have been as screwed up.
Did anyone else think that the girl knew Carl would follow her? He was sitting right there with the shades up and everything. When I first saw it I thought she was going to double back on him in the woods.
Yeah, I know, but what happens when the real world tells the producers they have to build the struts on the outside? On Talking Dead the actors were talking about how they had to stop working when someone would come home who lived in the subdivision, and how people would watch them filming. I think it’s something we’re just going to have to forgive the production team for.
That didn’t bother me so much. Like a lot of wars, the rich and the politically connected find ways to stay out of combat. I figure the ZA isn’t going to be all that different. Plus there are always people like me who completed ROTC but did not take a commission of any form. And people who were “in ROTC” but never completed it.
In other words, I think he was in my detachment ---- I just can’t quite put the name and face together.
Man, I must be super paranoid because my take on this Shangri la compound is this…
1-she videotapes them to use what they say against them- divide and conquer
2-the houses are wiretapped-so that’s how she’s managed to stay a step ahead of people who weren’t going to “fit”, remember how Aaron had that listening device?
3-She’s orchestrating the Hair Cut lady’s husband vs Rick showdown and the hair cut lady is complicit in it. I also think that Rick will be forced to make a Constable decision against the group causing them even more reason to start to break apart.
Also- I think they mentioned it on Talking Dead but I didn’t catch it on the episode, but is Aidan the Congresswoman’s son? He’s just as conniving as she will reveal herself to be. But yeah, he will end up imploding.
They’ve already done the “seemly utopian or at least highly civilized anti-zombie sanctuary that in actuality holds deep dark secrets” plot 3 times-- Woodbury, Terminus, hospital. I hope they go in at least a slightly different direction this time. I think the other posters are on to something with the idea that the girl is in cahoots with an outside faction to bring the place down, and Rick & co. will be drawn into a conflict which will probably destroy Alexandria and set them a wanderin’ again. Along the way there will be internal conflicts between Rick & jealous smoking hubby, Aaron & Glen/Daryl, etc.
Hey, did anybody wonder just how skinny that “skin off his back zombie” must be in real life to still look so skinny with all the makeup on? They showed a behind the scenes view with that zombie extra on Talking Dead, as well as the woman who played Tara talking about how they used all this stuff like raw chicken to get the look. He had a fake spine and ribs, then tear-off skin on top of that, as well as fake torn-up putrefied flesh makeup on his arms, and he still looked like Iggy Pop.
The ratio of adult men to adult women is about even. It’s almost certainly just a budget issue for the show. Either that or they just don’t have many people in Alexandria as part of the plot.
We have seen at least five adult men. Aaron and his boyfriend Eric, Aiden and Nicholas who went on the “test” run with Glenn and crew, and the husband of the lady who cut Rick’s hair (Pete?).
That’s not counting the husband from the older couple.
I only count among the adult women Deanna, Olivia (collected the guns), Jessie (haircut lady), and the wife from the older couple. Were there a couple more? Even if there were, that’s not a very noteworthy ratio.
How long do you think it would take Sgt. Abraham Ford to get Aidan’s head straightened out? Or his spending a few weeks patrolling with Rosita, Carl, and Tara? Aidan appears to be trainable. Of course, Aidan would lord over Eugene and Gabriel.
I just figured that Abraham had showed everyone some basic self-defense moves during their down times. We don’t follow their actions 24/7, after all. And Abe seems like that sort of guy.
Regarding Enid, 8 months is a little too long to be a mole. Especially a teenage one. Would anyone really trust a teenage girl to keep a secret that big for that long? If I were in the camp that she was spying FOR, I know I’d have problems with it.
“Enid just came a few months ago,” is what I heard. That’s a long time to be casing the place, and if her mission is to fit in, she’s doing a really crappy job. I’m curious what she’s up to, but it’s probably not an invasion. Maybe she just needs to go out and hunt and track and hide and not become weak like the others.
No, it was definitely eight months. I don’t look to this show for a lot of logic, so if Enid is visiting/supplying the exiled men, I don’t expect the writers to address the fact that she’s been doing so for almost a year.
