Last episode before the season finale; Chandler Riggs, Gale Ann Hurd, & Yvette Nicole Brown are on Talking Dead.

Was I the only one counting the rounds Sasha was firing?
She had a Magpul 30 rounder in her AR, and I didn’t see her carrying any spare mags, that said, she did seem to be fumbling with a reload, seems out of character with a shooter as skilled as her, besides, AR mags drop free when the release is pressed…

For those unfamiliar with the operation of the AR

when the last round is fired, the bolt carrier locks back, hit the mag release, the mag drops free, slap in another mag, then hit the bolt release and the bolt carrier slams forward, chambering a round

Total time for a mag change, under 10 seconds, closer to 5

It ultimatum day! Everyone gives everyone else ultimatums, and then the fallout.

Is “Magpul 30 rounder" the name of/description of the magazine?

Does “AR" mean assault rifle or is it an acronym for something else?

Are the answers to these questions common enough that I should know them?

Rick totally wasn’t wrong, but neither was Deanna - you think long and hard before you get rid of your doctor/surgeon, but you can’t have a community where you condone wife-beating (and eventual killing) because he’s too valuable (which implies that his wife isn’t as valuable). And as Rick said, exile just means he comes back later with a tank and mows your walls down.

My husband says that Michonne whacked Rick on the back of the head at the end to save the rest of the group - to keep Deanna from instantly kicking them all out? I was actually disappointed that she did that - she interrupted the showdown between Deanna and Rick!

Oh, and Rick looking totally crazy and dangerous (and acting crazy and dangerous) was really stepping on his very good points.

Magpul is a brand, yes, they make accessories and magazines for the AR platform.

Technically, the AR in AR-15 stands for ArmaLite, the original company who manufactured the rifle, designed by firearms designer Eugene Stoner, it has sort of become a generic term for the “assault” rifle

The term “assault rifle” as used by the media and political critters is incorrect as most AR platform rifles are NOT assault rifles, as one of the defining features of an actual Assault Rifle is the ability to select full-automatic (multiple rounds fired with one trigger pull), or burst (three rounds per single trigger pull) fire

The average AR pattern rifle on sale currently is a SEMI-automatic, one round fired per trigger pull, full auto AR rifles are horribly expensive, and require a $200 tax stamp from the federal government to own

That said, the AR rifles used in TWD do appear to be models that have the “fun switch” or “giggle switch” and are capable of automatic fire

Rick is officially Shane: pretty much right, but still a dick.

But as unpleasant it may be to see; she is less valuable than him. He’s there one & only medical practitioner; she’s an artist. Maybe separating them would work, but the wife would have to be willing to go along with that and she apparently isn’t.

Next week’s preview…

I LOVE Crazy Carol!

She tells great bedtime stories, and keeps abusive scumbags in line…

That’s true enough; do they have a community where someone needs to be the sacrificial lamb so the doctor sticks around and is useful? Are the lives of everyone in the community more important than one person who is miserable and being beaten and treated terribly?

Scarol is indeed beyond awesome. Maybe she could just nick Pete a little to get his attention - so he only loses maybe half a liter of blood, nothing serious.

What is the population of this town? We’ve seen very few residents.

It can’t be more than like 30 or so.

In those shots from the tower showing the zombies being picked off, it looked like we could see an open end of the fence that is supposedly encircling the neighborhood.

Season finale already? Bummer.

It’s depressing seeing everything go south, even though we knew it would.

Honestly, just separate the doctor from his wife. Lock him in his clinic if you have to.

The woman who was tied to the tree. Was she alive when she was tied there?

I would say yes, because she turned while they were watching, and that seems to take a very short time.

So we can assume everyone with a “w” on their forehead was alive when the wolves or whoever got them. That’s some sick bastards out there.

Yeah during that first conversation between Rick and Deanna, I kept thinking they were both idiots. Use a zombie apocalypse “restraining order.” Move Doctor Drunktopus over to an empty house, if he gets within 20 feet of his wife or kids, you lock him in his house. You make his continued doctoring a condition of his being able to stay.

Regarding the woman–I am pretty sure they said she was tied up alive.

Loving Yvette in Talking Dead. Her observations are so on target, it’s almost like she’s getting crib notes from the writers. Yes, Rick is one step away from calling Lori on the phone again! And the actor who plays Carl is scary articulate for a teenager. At his age, I’d be a bumbling idiot.

Too bad the writers felt the need to create yet another IABW (Irrationally Angry Black Woman) in Sacha. “Leave me alone!”. Yeah, because if there’s one thing you need to do in the ZA is be a Lone Ranger…

Still, mostly good episode, but Rick is just nutty. You don’t have to take everything to Volume Level 11 right from the git-go.

All season long I’ve been assuming this would be a situation of Rick’s group being the bad guys, since I didn’t see any other way for it to go and be interesting. Seems pretty clearly headed that way.

But another option finally occurred to me when Daryl and Aaron saw that fire: A second group shows up, which the Alexandrians welcome with open arms (and maybe put in positions of power above Rick’s group) but Rick’s group senses that this new group is bad and needs to go.
