Not necessarily. It wasn’t that long ago (in story) that Tara and her family didn’t know. By my reckoning it’s been about two years since the event. It’s not inconceivable to me that they’ve not seen any natural deaths.
Pretty good episode and some good character development, though the stuff with Sasha was pretty ham-handed.
And speaking of hands, did everyone catch the symbolism of the big red “A” on Rick and Jessie’s hands? I know you did, because they kept showing it. They even had a long lingering shot of Rick holding his hand up with the A facing the camera.
Get it? Rick wants that married woman. And he’s got a big scarlet A on his hand. “A” for Alexandria, but really for adultery. Get it? Yeah, thanks, writers, for hitting us over the heads like we’re a bunch of [del]zombies[/del] walkers.
I think it’s just you. Her voice isn’t bad at all. And, god, she is really freakin’ hot.
Wasn’t the red ‘A’ painted someplace along Ricks group journey ?
I’m going to suggest that Daryl is NOT the best person to recruit potential new members to Alexandria.
I can certainly see why Aaron would want a Daryl as a backup when he’s out recruiting, but Daryl would scare the crap out of any potential recruits.
Maybe the “W” is the Washington, D.C. group (near Alexandria).
Last week Jessie’s husband didn’t seem very friendly, but this week he’s warming right up to Rick. Then he seemed to purposely leave his wife to talk to Rick at the party. What, are they swingers? Husband is sterile and Jessie wants another baby?
Seems like Sasha and Carol were wasting a bit of ammo this episode, not a logical use of a limited resource…
Even if they found a reloading setup and components, it’s not like anyone is making primers or smokeless propellant, they also don’t seem to be collecting their fired brass casings…
Yes, they could be casting lead bullets for their guns, but the AR platform doesnt tend to like to shoot lead, it has the potential to gum up the gas system, Sasha’s AR appears to be the basic direct impingement system, not a piston driven system…
Speaking of wasted ammo, where does Daryl get his endless supply of crossbow bolts? Magic?
You just put more thought into the situation than the writers ever will.
I’ve always assumed that Daryl whittles more bolts during down times.
If I were Deanna, I’d make persuading Daryl to teach others how to do so (and to use the crossbow and to track/hunt) a high priority, along with finding or fabricating more bows.
There have been several scenes in past episodes where Daryl is shown making new crossbow bolts.
Another good episode. I am finally convinced Alexandria is just as it seems and any drama will come from the our people’s shell shock or from differences in ideas which is great.
Hair cut’s husband seemed like a completely different person to the point where I am not sure it was.
I noticed the husband had an A before their son mentioned it. I thought maybe it meant something but I guess it was just the kid playing.
Carol was like a Bizarro Grinch after he was caught by Cindy Lou Who. Yikes.
While I understand why they are behaving the way they are, I will again submit that Alexandria has been just as successful as they have been since they lived just as long. Arguably they were better since they did it in a way that didn’t leave everyone scarred.
What Rick’s group is going to remember is the whole point of their struggling to survive was to find a place where they didn’t have to struggle any more. They will probably realize it just in time for it to be destroyed.
The A stands for Alexandria. We’re all in this club together.
It also stands for adultery as per The Scarlet Letter.
And finally it stands for the meat wagon in Terminus. Alexandria isn’t like Terminus… or is it? Rick and his friends are fresh meat brought to strengthen the community.
Almost forgot: RIP Buttons. For the second time, seeing a horse die made me feel worse than any human character death on the show ever did.
I have heard people say things like that before, and I remain mystified by the attitude. Can you explain why you feel more for the horse than for, say, Herschel, Beth, Bob, or Tyreese? Why its death bothered you more than the baby’s would?
Animals are innocent.
And have no awareness of the threat so must have been blind terror and no means to plan to protect itself.
Go to tho zoo. Sneak into the big cat enclosure. Walk around at feeding time.
He made a sort of abusive/controlling husband remark to Jessie as he walked off with Rick’s empty glass, but I can’t remember what it was. Pair that with his vaguely threatening greeting to Rick from the porch and episode or two ago, and it seems like they’re trying to set something up there. Or they’re just flinging red herrings around like cracked out fishmongers, which I wouldn’t put past them.
Did anyone else get a creepy vibe from the party? Again, it’s probably just the writers, but I felt like everyone was way too interested in Rick’s drink. I was half-sure he was going to end up roofied before the night was through.
Yup, she’s certainly creepy! That was some scene!
